Today, we're installing the zipper and closing the ends of the Duffle. A few tips and reminders:
❤️ Tuck the Handles into the Pockets to keep them out of the way for the last steps.
❤️ While installing the zipper, you'll need to wrangle the Quilted Panel a bit to keep everything lined up and out of the way of the needle. This is where the extra length in the zipper comes in handy! When sewing the second side of the zipper tape on, unzip the zipper as much as possible to allow for easier maneuvering.
❤️ After attaching the second side of the zipper tape, you can slide an extra zipper pull on the zipper tape to have a double zipper slide. It might take a couple times of threading the Pole onto the zipper teeth to get both sides of the zipper tape lined up correctly, but it's a fun edition to the Duffle.
❤️ Before sewing the ends of the Duffle closed, make sure you have the double turned inside out, and the zipper tabs are inserted.
❤️ If your sewing machine struggles going through the bulky areas, you can use your hand wheel to gently guide the needle through the layers or pull out a mallet or hammer to flatten those spots! Just be careful to stay away from the zipper teeth so you don't break them. 🔨
