- In this tutorial I'll show you on a very simple model how to create and add bones, skin everything and after make a very simple IK with linked controller. Everything that you will learn can be applied on a much more complex assets and get amazing final results. At the end we are going to make very simple animation and export everything from Autodesk 3Ds Max 2021 to Unreal Engine 4.
I'm doing tutorial for 3D Artists that are beginners or already with some experience and want to improve their skills.
Some of the software I use :
3Ds max 2021, Zbrush, Photoshop, Unreal Engine 4 and Substance Painter

Big thanks! Managed to import a biped-character as a fbx-model to UE5. Couldnt have done it without this tutorial!
Dude this stuff in graphics has ALWAYS intimidated me. Not sure why but the ideas of getting characters to move always seemed so difficult. I was so wrong! You made this easy as hell to follow. Thank you
Guys please calm down, Its not a modeling tutorial. :P This guy did a great job.
very useful tutorial thank you
thanks for this!
Such a good video, thank you!
thank you man
Thanks
Do you have any video teaching the camera map modifier ?
Come on man.. Please keep your thumpnail relevant to the video.. I thought I was going to learn how to create a badass looking tentacle...
I'd want you on my dev team for sure haha. Super intuitive and easy to follow guide. Excellent explanation!
Thank you, I’m glad it was useful. May I ask in which studio you are, me might have met at some point and not even realize it ;)
This tutorial might've just saved my arse in my degree, cheers! What's your opinion on CAT objects, do they have any notable advantages over this type of rigging/skinning?
I've got a skeleton in UE4 already but I was making a new animation so I added some HI solvers as you did here in max to make animating easier. Then when I import the animation back into Unreal, it tells me the imported bone translation is different from the original and I can't use the animation with my existing skeleton. Do you know how to fix this?
Thank you a lot
thank you so much for this tutorial!!
Great tutorial, thanks for sharing. Also what song / music is that one playing on the background?... Greetings.
Thank you! I’m not sure what was the song name, I’ll check and find you a link to it, but it’s from YT free library.
@@UpsideDownTutorials Thanks!!!
You made it look so easy I like your animation tutorials, keep the good work!
Thanks, soon a more complex once will come as I want to show both skinning and rigging tricks.
Thanks! it was very easy to make it as you showed 😊
Thank you! I'll be making more in-depth tutorials on the animation topic as this one covers just small portion of it.
