Happy holidays! I love your videos! My wife and I own a teardrop trailer and have some of the things that you use on your adventures. One thing in particular that you mentioned was a propane fire pit. We love ours! We use it in our screen tent add on , on low setting of course and especially when it’s raining and we can’t have a wood fire. I’ll say though it can use a lot of propane if you run it much higher than it’s lowest setting. Some of the other items you mentioned like a collapsible bucket and folding change tents are other things we have a couldn’t live without them. Always looking forward to seeing your videos! Happy travels!

Thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity what brand/model of propane fire pit do you travel with? Happy holidays to your family as well!

Playing with Sticks hello again! So I went to look for the brand/model of my propane fire pit on the unit and I couldn’t find any identification on it anywhere including the hose. I was very surprised, not even a serial number to be found. I can tell you this, we purchased it at Costco for approximately $120 C. I hope that you find it there. It looks very similar to the one in your video. By the way, it never smokes. Enjoy!

Yep. Most of our safety gadgets we carry with us never come out of the case. But it is the peace of mind they give you that makes the purchase worth it. As for the rope lights, they will be one of our 10,000 subscriber giveaways. Glad you liked the ideas Randi!

    Hi! I'm running a little behind...like 4 yrs, but I'm here!☺️
It's May, 2024 and hubs and I are embarking on more outdoor adventures. We're starting w our state parks and just ordered and tested our pop up Gazelle tent in the backyard. The ants couldn't get in! They were so frustrated!🤣
Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the foam interlocking floor you suggested in a previous video that someone suggested to you.
6 4 packs, laid out (and numbered) inside is a game changer and we haven't even done our first outdoor outing yet!
Last fall, we rented a cabin in the North GA Mtns and while exploring during the day, we kept seeing RVs, campers, & tents along pull offs nestled along the mountain roads.
It was an epiphany to us that had we had even a tent, we wouldn't have had to head back pre sunset to find our nearly invisible turnoff back to the cabin.
Then we looked at campers, but for now, it's out of range budget wise. Then the Eagle Scout & Cadette in us said, how 'bout a tent? So here we go!
We'll be 'scouting' (pun intended 🤪) out locales this week to plan our summer adventures and see where the trails lead us.
Love the channel! So glad we found it!

Well, first I have to say Happy Thanksgiving. Love the reindeers! Good "commercial interruption" - hehehe.
For propane campfires, don't go with the cheapest. They're large and more often than not the rocks in it are not contained so unless you find a box or something to store the thing in for transport, those rocks are all over your car after bump #1. I bought the "little red campfire" from Camco. Right now - if you're a Good Sams/Campingworld member you can get it for $139. It's very small - about the size of a cake or hat carrier and it's completely self contained. Everything fits inside the lid - hose and all. You just need another propane bottle and you're good. Also keep in mind those things suck a lot of gas. On full it will empty a regular 5 gallon cylinder in about 6 hours - on a lower setting you can get about a week of evening campfires out of it if you don't expect to be super warm (great for summer fire bans - you want the fire for comfort/romance/smores but not necessarily for heat). I can highly recommend that firepit because it's easy to carry around, doesn't need much space and does the job quite nicely.
For the projector - no, you're not weird. I bought one with built in battery years ago and we use it to this day - a lot. Took it to a houseboating trip on lake Shasta twice (bedsheets make great screens), always bring it to camping. It's the size of 2 cigarette boxes and works fine when it's really dark (sucks when it's too bright around because it doesn't put out a lot of light). I hook it into the speakers of the trailer and before that - or for backyard use - I bought little speakers that I can mount on our zero gravity lounge chairs at head height. That allows to have great stereo and doesn't require an amplifier plus the speakers are small (maybe 2 by 2 inches or so) Plus it doesn't disturb the neighbors when we use them for a long night in the backyard. Of course for backyard use I have a really nice projector screen thing, but for camping I just bring a large white sheet and some rope. Open air movies are fun - don't get me wrong, I love my silence and campfires out there, but if you go for 2 or 3 weeks it's fun to watch a movie once a week.
    Happy holidays!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well Uwe! Thanks for the tip on the propane fire. We leaned towards the Camp Chefs after reading hundreds of reviews because it seemed like people really liked how the heat radiated off the rocks and just the overall look of the fire coming up through the rocks. However, we did have a bit of hesitation about the weight of the rocks. It adds like 15-20 lbs to the stove. We didn't even think about how to contain them while traveling. Thanks for the suggestion on the little red campfire. We just watched a couple review videos on it. Great height, weight, and overall quality. We originally passed on it because we thought the fake logs were kind of gimmicky looking. But, after seeing it in the videos it really is more about the nice flames it produces than the fake logs. And yes, we are pretty aware of the rapid rate of fuel consumption. We have a gas fire pit on our deck and like you said we most often use it at a lower setting for ambiance. Love the amount of heat it puts out at the high setting, but wow does it go through propane fast! Thank you also for the advice on the projector. We had heard that they may not work well in situations with too much light. And hearing it from you makes us even more confident that we have to do some more research on which one we should purchase. Due to the midnight sun up here it really is only in the fall camping season that we get low enough light and at that time of year it is pretty tough to stay outside for long amounts of time with the falling temperatures. Thanks as always Uwe for all the great advice! Happy holidays!

Fun video with some great gift suggestions for us campers. I have those same leveling blocks and they're great. A must have for any trailer. Looks like you could cook on that propane fireplace if you can find the right size grate to go over it. Once those lava rocks get hot it should hold a lot of heat without much of a flame. In reference to your fire starting skills, don't be discouraged brother. My wife's been correcting my best braggadocios claims (lies) for the last 45 years lol. Don't worry, it only gets worse ;) Have a safe and Merry Christmas. May the Lord Bless you and your family this holiday season.

We wish we would have stumbled onto them leveling blocks much earlier in our camping journey. Using the propane fire pits for cooking sound great. Most of them come with some basic skewers for roasting marshmallows and cooking hot dogs, but a grate sounds like a better idea. Love your comment on the fire starting skills. My wife does a great job of keeping me in check. She is pretty darn amazing! Merry Christmas to your family as well. God bless you as well and safe journeys.

Thank you! Happy holidays to you too. Looks like you have a really fun channel there. Keep up the posts. Once UA-cam defines/understands your niche a little better you quickly grow a nice little community. It is really fun to have a community of like minded people on this platform. A little unsolicited advice for you. In the beginning stay focused on the niche (kites). This will quickly trigger the UA-cam algorithm to send kite lovers your way. What I find hurts a new channel fairly quickly is doing videos early on that are outside your niche. Sorry for the unsolicited advice, just thought it may help.

We chose to only mention the price on the LED rope light because for almost every item we highlighted there are many different brands and many different prices. If you check in the description below we have links to all the products and prices and you will even see in the links for many of them we have two items because the prices are so different for the same type of item.
