- Firstly wishing all my fellow railfan friends and all my humble subscribers a Merry Christmas. May this festive season bring joy to your lives. On this special occasion, I would like to present a short compilation on an exciting Railfanning outing which I had with Jaskaran Singh on a chilly winter evening. Relish the high speed thrills of Gatimaan Express, the night scorcher Bangalore Rajdhani Express, the majestic Push-Pull Rajdhani Express and the high speed superfast trains of Indian Railways as they unleash their aggression at Faridabad New Town station. So just sit back and relish the high speed bonanza.!!
Fantastic and incredible action. The blaring horns are contacting singing. And of course the courageous Indian people have no fear of these "galloping hirses". They are rather cheerfully nonchalant !

i was standing at aligarh platform close to track and all of a sudden all i heard was poooooon shoooo shoo shoo shoooo happened so fast couldnt beleive guess tht was rajdhai my cousin told me but what ever happened was way beyond my expectations

I believe the last tanker in the AP express is ghee for Tirupati from haryana. Earlier there were trucks plying between these destinations

Mind blowing long shots ! Even in pitch black darkness you have been able to capture shots with unimaginable clarity from not less than 500 mtr away ! Hats off to you ! I hope you are keeping well. Thank you so much for your wishes and appreciation. I am deeply humbled by your kind words. The camera model which I am using here to shoot the videos is Canon SX520HS model. Although the model is discontinued but you can still try a better variant like SX540HS.
Superb Compilation
Gatimaan Express goes through a station almost as fast as the fastest speed attainable by any train in australia, which is out on the straights far away from towns, which is a rare occurance since our tracks weave wind and wiggle all over the place. I believe whoever designed the aussie rail system was drunk at the time. I also like just how long these trains are, and they still smash through stations doing over 100. What are they like on the open straights between stops? do they accelerate faster?
Yes they do and the max hovers around the 110 - 130 mark. Tracks have speed limits too from stretch to stretch.
Thanks for posting. Where I live, we get three passenger trains per day which are always late. None go faster than 90 kmh. India is so far ahead of Australia with railways and other infrastructure.
Nothing like that man. Aus just hasn't invested in trains the way India has. Cuz in India Air travel is prohibitively expensive for most of the populace. So traveling via trains was the only option feasible for the masses.
When Europeans compare to us, they mock the low speeds our trains run at. However, they fail to see that European trains carry maybe a few hundred passengers at a time. Whereas, Indian trains carry anywhere from 1500-2500 passengers at a time. That too at less than a fourth of the cost per passenger vs European trains.
So it's just perspective. I love Indian trains. They're more satisfying aurally and visually compared to most Western trains.
It could be better honestly, if people paid heed to the safety rules and regulations of Railways. People jaywalk over railway lines all the time, so even when engines can perform higher speed, they are restricted in a speed limit. Also trains are late for traffic on lines.

Particularly distressing as the footover bridge is right there, would it kill them to take another 60 seconds to use it?
Going up a footbridge is a pain one has to climb some 25 feet or so, or it should have escalator which is not only expensive but requires power, best is underground passage which can be as little as ten feet below the ground so one doesn't need to exert so much. Only the initial cost is high.
Good video! But why are there so may pedestrians crossing the tracks? The poor drivers must be constantly on the verge of a heart attack!

Man, when will ppl learn? How clear govt messaging have to be? Safety tips are given 24/7 on all stations across the nation, on billboards, speakers, tv commercials, on radio, online, pamphlets and in newspapers yet our ppl can't help but act like fools... and not learn... I think the only common sense approach left now is to install fencing on each side of tracks that run from stations to about 2-3 km. beyond city lines, and install pedestrian footbridges ever 1-1/2 KM for public...and, if someone's found damaging fencing, do what most developed nations do... LOCK-UP or heavy fine... Most people do not realize when ppl behave like this the infrastructure that is built with assumption that it'll serve public from decades to come deteriorates within just a few years after it is built...
I think tracks are much more dangerous than we think. Plz observe, they are like illusion.. From far away trains look like they are moving very slowly. So sometimes we take it casually and try to cross or be near the tracks, then suddenly the train appears near, and people may become dumb/deaf/stunned/paralyzed when they hear that deafening horn of nearby speeding train... Moreover a fast moving train cannot stop quickly. It will move at least 1 km after applying breaks at such speeds. So be very careful when u r near tracks, even if it looks empty.
Great but stupid people everywhere, judging on those crowds crossing the track before the approaching train, which I do not know from Europe to this extent. You do not seem to have more fatalties considering the apparent carelessness, though. I love your explanatory comments including the admiration for trains!

Yes the train is driving fast. In Holland if you walk on the tracks all the trains have to slow down to 40km/u and if the tracks are clear, they can drive the normal speed. Also if the police see you, you get a fine. I like this video 👍😁

Not exactly! You can say its still stupid, but people who cross tracks in India have learnt the timings well, so they know how to cross tracks as effortlessly as possible while there is a train coming at them!...
Infact! the Indian Railways is presently having its best safety record of 0 fatalities for the past one year!

In 2018 a study reported nearly 49,800 people died after being hit by trains in the last three years, according to the railways ministry. In one article, this statistic was followed by a remark that maybe they were distracted by their cell phones. I don't think so, after watching this video. That works out to 45 deaths a day, by the way.
Looks like whole of Faridabad lives on the tracks. In India only People treat railway tracks like a road without any realisation of physics of speed and breaking. Your video was like a thriller film where viewer is always on the edge.

Some of the stupid people are still crossing even when the fast approaching train could be seen from a short distance away. Suppose something goes wrong like one of them falls down after hitting leg somewhere in the track while abruptly making his way to the other side in a hurry burry situation. I think some people here have the mindset that nothing goes wrong.
