- Surprises are in store when Elliot (Henry Thomas) introduces his brother and his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore) to E.T. for the very first time.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) SYNOPSIS: After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

@@mikeydee7317 He was when Elliott and Gertie first saw him. I'm surprised Mike didn't freak out at first sight of E.T. He just stared pointblank at him with the utmost look of surprise on his face.
I don’t blame Gertie for screaming in E.T.’s face because if I saw something like him in my house I’d be really freaked out
@@awesomenick9539 Yeah, I'd scream too if I ever saw a strange creature like that for the first time.
Fun fact Gertie actually thought the puppet was alive because of how well Steven Spielberg made him look and act and at the end scene where the NASA doctors are trying to revive E.T and Gertie is sobbing behind the glass those were actual tears because drew Barrymore said she thought E.T was real and the Drs were hurting him by using the defibrillator

Something tells me that this isn’t the 20th Anniversary Edition AKA 2002 version with the newly enhanced CGI “Computer Generated Imagery” sequences that were added in as a little improvement. By the way, if I remember correctly that toy shark Elliot was holding is the same thing he showed ET saying that Sharks eat small fish & nobody eats the sharks. I’m afraid he left out a few things that do eat the sharks. Most people eat Shark Fin Soup & Orcas AKA Killer Whales eat sharks. Never mind one of the extinct Giant Marine Reptiles that also ate sharks as well. Including the early Whale Killers that ate sharks too, I’m talking about the Natural World of today. Oh & by the way, I couldn’t resist the part where ET startled “Olive The Other Reindeer”. What? The young actress D.B. Voiced a doggy named olive from the based book Christmas Special in 1999.
