    I had previously commented on your last video. Another must are coat hangers which velcros onto your top poles, 2 to be exact. Only the coat hangers as the hanger plus organizer combo is not needed and heavier. And the organizer is just pockets for unneeded junk which will end up there and cluttered. For your pull harness which is a major plus when pulling your sled, if you can go get small pvc pipes and cut to length as the same length as the actual 2 pull ropes and fit the pull ropes inside the pipe to which only the latches is sticking out. Itll add pull stability and is way more helpful. You will know what i mean once you physically try it. I do like your rod holder and yes they look extremely helpful. It would be brilliant if the shack came with an air draft skirt seen how expensive it is. I do recommend never putting snow on the outside flaps to prevent air drafts as it will freeze and you may rip your flaps pulling them off the ice. Always best to face the wind that way air drafts dont come up behind your feet with no skirt. A small Bluetooth radio is always awesome too when out fishing. Kills time when needed. A nice thermos canister will keep hot fluids or food hot for entire day when out on the ice. 2 is better as 1 for fluid another for food (soup). This yr i plan to have a tank top sunflower heater attached to a smaller 10lb propane tank for heat and itll be modified to be able to cook on (safety tilt disabled). There's lots more i can suggest too but every person do have their preferences. But the idea is lightweight and less is more.
    Dont know what flasher you run but i have always gone with vexilar. Most reliable and the least interference. I've tried all 3 major brands and have always gone with the vexilar. I keep 2 on hand for one is backup or backup for another guest. Of course i keep my flx28 to myself only. The other is a fl20.
    Almost forgot! 2 most important things are a great pair of 1000+grms of thinsulate water proof boots & a great pair of ice cleats. Make sure the cleats have heal and toe spikes! Those are the 2 first most important things i highly recommend. Once your feet gets cold or wet, you will never warm back up. And cleats always on for safety.

    Excellent setup you got going there. Don't know if the Clam LED lights each have a switch but if not I would definitely hook each up to an individual switch to preserve juice. You won't need all of them all of the time anyway. A nice little switch panel near the battery w/a main switch for the battery itself and switches for each individual light...or wire a switch to each light.
    You'll appreciate a dimmer switch for the overhead whites. In addition to preserving juice, you can add some ambience to you and wifee's romantic evening on the ice over fresh fish fillets, fried taters and Bush's Original baked beans. May I suggest a thermos cup of Chivas Regal? Which reminds me, throw a folding tray table in the sled for those times. I also have a set of red overhead LED's to preserve night vision in between re-rigging or baiting. What kind of studio light do you use on your main camera?

      Ya, it makes such a huge difference it is ridiculous. I actually have mine set up as a seat/gear hauler also so I can get out of shack and hole jump if action goes dead inside. I just double tap a bunch of holes right away in four directions from shack about 15ft apart 20 yards out and if it goes dead inside it's a simple scout/move to better action. Lots of great how to vids on here for making one. Don't be like me and procrastinate making one for five years.

    you need to look into attaching skis to that tub it reduces the felt drag weight by a ton and it floats through snow instead of digging in

    "Smith sled". Put it on snow skies low to the ground. It makes a big difference when pulling the sled. Especially thru 10" or more of snow.

    If pulling by hand,consider a Smitty sled. Many U tube diy videos. You are probably broke after buying all this gear. Smitty sleds are very inexpensive to build and save a lot of work when it snows. Good fishin!

  • @r1deus
    @r1deus 6 років тому

    just a quick tip for you, I have the same sled and ran it last year. After going to winnipeg I quickly found out that the bolts from the hyfax will beat the crap out of your gear in the sled, so I took a spare piece of shower tile board from a bathroom project I did and cut it to fit the bottom of the sled and it has kept from beating up my gear and since it is white it still allows me to see everything in the bottom of the sled. I do run 2 milk crates in the back between the seats, 4 will fit but then you cannot move the seats, I will throw a 5 gallon bucket in the back to throw fish in also, other than that I keep all my rods on top of the milk crates in my case and tackle under the seats after getting setup and all of that fits under the seats when moving. If you do ever pull it with a atv or snowmobile you will want to put everything you can on the suspension of the vehicle and keep anything you do not want destroyed away from propane bottles and augers they are scud missiles designed to destroy, 1 of my milk crates holds only 1lb propane bottles to keep them from moving around.

      Late comment I know, quick tip of you have a truck bring the tailgate down... take the front side of the ice house go to the front of it and pick it up and place it at a good 30 degree angle from the ground and put your foot behind the ice house to prevent it from sliding away go to the rear and pick it up, KEEP A FIRM HOLD ON THE BACK SO IT DOESN'T SLIDE OFF THE TAILGATE, then slide it in the vehicle, a small trailer works too
