Listened to this on repeat so many times. So sad to learn that Rutger passed; my first impression of this song was the incredible tone and harmonies in his guitar playing. I wish I could tell him in person how inspirational it is. Edit: Responding to some people who have a negative opinion of the song. It's not perfect by any means. Clearly it's not commercially viable in many ways; but that's the point. They didn't want it to be perfect. I believe they were attempting to evoke a certain sense of wonder, exploration, the contrast between hope and dispair, and a certain un-earthlyness. All of the flaws in the song seem to achieve all of that.
I think they are pretty good, when I noticed them I really liked the genuiness of the music, unfortunately it endes tragically, otherwise I imagine they would have evolved into something very great. I wish I had had the opportunity to see them play live, that would have been great!
Everyone going on about how high they are... think of me , I am completely out :( What a song though, I can only imagine how good it would be, should ones senses be heightened.
@@robertgolfetto yeeeesss! I love the Space Echo; that thing speaks to my soul. I’ve surprisingly never owned a DD-7. Just watched a quick demo and love that mod setting. Thank you so much!
@@fastronaut909 i know exactly what he used: 1)Korg pitch black tuner 2)Roland space echo re 201 3)boss dd7 4)lehle switch (i don't recall the model) 5)boss tr2 6)morley wah 7)2 ehx big muff NYC to pilot two fender blues deluxe amps with slightly different settings 8)boss BF3 I guess that's all was a really simple pedalboard and no fancy stuff... He upgraded the two big muffs with two turbulent ash fuzz by black effect pedals (the only boutique pedals he had, based on rams head's big muff)
Fender Blues Deluxe™ Reissue 40 watt, wonderful amp. Great guitarist, great bassist and drummer, they were an exceptional band. “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”
Monotonous and lyrically uninspiring. A band you go to because you couldn't afford to see Tool. Not bad music....just not all that spectacular....unless you are high...then it is phenomenal. Maybe that was the point...
Maybe because you are like in stinkfist, a tad bit "desensitized to everything" and need an "elbow deep inside the borderline" to feel at all. "People who couldn't afford to see Tool", what a weak logic, you are the one missing out.
Thank you, Rutger.
Here i am 11 years after upload and hit the 666th like. Feelin special! Hail sungrazer!

The song is perfect, don't apologize to these people. Let them be unhappy.
Rest in peace Rutger :(
Ok, nobody with music this good should have to only have 1665 views.
Glad to have Mirador on vinyl, sounds amazing 🖤
Rutger! May you rest in peace!
Zoning on my ride home, on repeat.
In the vast majority of stoner rock songs, yes! We love the muff.
Inspiring, original rock ✨️🤘🏼 A musical journey.

Anyone have an idea of the delays/reverbs used when the guitar comes in at 0:53
Hey, sorry for the late answer.
Anyway, Rutger used a combination of either space echo and dd7 in mod mode
Can't tell how he did it

Sad but common. Many bands end up disbanded
