I was in the neighborhood again.
Picked Up a EUTECH Thermocouple Thermometer. Someone left the batteries in it. Now I have to try and cleanup the connections in the battery box.
    Wish me luck. 😁😎

I usualoly just scrape the contacts off and put Vasiline on them and so far, so good BUT I also fix the battery door to open easily so we can get the batteries out and not have that problem hopefully ever. Was going to mow yesterday but was getting dark so I waited. Rain for an inch, then sun. Than raiun last night. 2 1/2 inches total. Garden still exploding. Happy week and healing to you both with Gods Blessings

I typically take batteries out of tools that I don't use often. I can go 6 or more months without using my digital calipers for instance, or several years for my stud finder. Who knows what kind of damage can happen in the interim.

Vinegar soak and a stiff brush usually gets it.

      Best plan.
I keep the batteries in marked drawers. This thermometer lists new for over $400.00. Cheaper to not have batteries in it.

Nice haul. I love getting something useful for next to nothing! Hope that battery terminal can be cleaned. Are you going to use baking soda/powder paste? Works well to remove battery "goo"/"crusties".

hi dave we had /still do have family that live in troy MICH dad bought a old 1930 ford model A off my uncles neighbor needed work for $ 500 in 1974. the car was no 2 robertson screws for 80% of it, in the 30s mr ford could not keep up with the demand so some of his cars were made in canada hence robertson .screws we used were slotted. the screwdrivers were hard to come by 50 yrs ago no internet back then

I was getting crates from a company based in Canada about 35 years ago. They were a great source of clear pine planks 3/4" think by 12" wide and up to 6 feet long. All held together with Robertson Screws. I hadn't needed to use a Robertson Screwdriver before but I needed one then.
I cut down a screwdriver and ground it to fit. I still have it in the rack. 😀😎
