this is kelly gazzys missus, i want to learn from u.... please... more more....i subscribed...in australia..amazing thickness on the shell.u r amazing roger.
Another great toe tappin video. I realy liked the step by step as you carved away. The end result with the light showed the depth wonderfully. Amazing work, Rodger
Hi I thoroughly enjoyed your carving. I carve on gourds have been teaching them for 5years last year bought a scam carver have carved goose eggs and love ,have 4 Ostrich eggs hope after watching this video I will have time this spring to get started. You inspired me. Hope to see more of your work. Thanks.
Pauline Joarnt I just started gourds recently. I love those woody fruits. You can see more of my stuff on Facebook or Instagram. Just search Wolford Carving.
Great video and book ! Question, I bought bleach to soak my ostrich egg carving. Do I dilute the bleach with water then soak my egg ? Also if you like the ostrich soak longer then 12 hours will the egg soften and crack? Thanks for your time !
Awesome video! My next project. A quick question tho'. How do you transfer the image on a round surface like an egg. Doesn't it leave wrinkles and snags.? Or does it even matter?
Thank you very much. I'm new to power carving and I really appreciate you spelling it out for us. I believe I saw you using NSK Presto in earlier videos. Now your'e using Shofu Lab Air- Z. Any particular reason. I'm buying a power carver next week and I haven't made up my mind on either Shofu or NSK. I believe they are both good. Thanks for the videos.
Doug Palmer thanks for watching. The NSK and Shofu both have their strengths but i switched to the Shofu for durability. It just seems to hold up better for what I put them through.
That is truly some awesome great work. You must have nerves of steel. Do you ever put carvings of pictures of real people on wood? Such as blank boxes gun stocks ect? Where did you get the dental tools from? Where are you located near? thank you for sharing the video. You are great at what you do. I will look for you on FaceBook soon. I truly hope you and yours have a Very Blessed Thanksgiving. BTW< I really like the music on your video. It was a toe-tapping tune. I like it a lot.
Thomas Tommy Thank you. I most generally stick to carving wildlife. You can find out more about the drills from my book “Dental Drill Art”. You can also request to join the Facebook group “Dental Drill Art”. Both has a lot of good information on the subject.
Andrea montipò thank you for watching my video. All of the burs used is in the beginning of the video and also called out as it progresses. There are multiple places to purchase FG dental burs but here are a few links www.graphictransfer.net www.treelineusa.com/power-carving-burs/116-diamond
james quintana I own a SCM 400xs. I have had good experience with mine. The only thing I do not like about it is it size. It is heavier and has a larger diameter nose cone. Other brands such as the Shofu and the Vortex F5 are much more sleek.
Thanks for watching my videos. I do both freehand and use patterns. If I can find a pattern that fits my design I will use that but if not I will just draw it out.
apett thanks for the comment. I have no experience with a Proxxon tool therefore I cannot say. I remove the inner membrane by soaking the egg in bleach. I show this in the video.

Hi Roger. Absolutely fantastic video tutorial and that owl is amazing! Please could you tell me what FG number the Diamond Football is?
Bryn thanks for watching and the compliments. Glad you enjoyed it. This is a large diamond football medium grit. Not sure about a number.

Hi and good day to you. Rewatching video and I’m curious what actual dust collection system is at the other end of the 4 inch hose. TY
Doug Palmer I use a Raizair 550. www.treelineusa.com/dust-collector.html
Hi Roger , just wondering wouldn’t you be better to carved then cut thank you 😊
Yvonne Attard not for me. The cut away allows me to shape and layer all the way out to the edges.

I bought the scm power Carver. Have you tried that one? And would you recommend one over the other?

@@rfwolford I'll look into those . Thank you much for the reply.
Did you draw the owl freehand or use a pattern?
Thanks for watching my videos. I do both freehand and use patterns. If I can find a pattern that fits my design I will use that but if not I will just draw it out.
