    Is there any disadvantage to starting the seedling in the whole water bottle to save refilling the half bottle? Also my fish water is good for underwater plants because of the ammonia but can the excess water from water changes be put into these bottles as a substitute for "nutrient water"?
    Love that all the updates are in one video by the way, keep this up!

    Are there any other ways to bring down the ph to 5.5? If I used distilled water, do I still need to do something to bring it down? (this is to soak the rock wool)? I hear suggestions of lemon juice or vinegar - lots of people say it works, lots of people say it doesn't... Mr Starr, what do you think? Thank you for excellent videos... you are inspirational!

    A tip with the GH Flora series, don't mix Micro, Grow and Bloom for lettuce. Leave out the Bloom and only mix the Micro and Grow. I only mix all three for fruiting crops.

    • @0x52
      @0x52 5 років тому

      @rollout the battle rapper Unless your tap water is quite hard (contains more Calcium) you are likely to run into Calcium deficiencies in hydro with tomato plants without CalMag/CaliMagic. You can always go ahead and start the plants up and see if it shows deficiencies later on :) If leaves start to whiten and flowers drop or you have blossom-end rot you just mix in some CalMag and all will be well

    I accidentally came across your video while watching Rainbow Garden. I guess its fate as I was wondering how can I grow peppers indoor all year round. I grow peppers not so much for the fruit but for the leaves w/c I use for cooking (ex: chicken tinola). I wonder if I could grow kangkong (water spinach) and bok choy this way, considering both plants love water.

  • @snorkelbuoy897

    Two questions: How do you get your aerogarden to work like that, with just the lights? I have the same model and the pump always wants to work, so I have to fill it with water.... you seem to only have the lights on? How do you do that? Also, you didn't soak the rockwool cube - I've always soaked mine (as per the instructions) and I've never had any luck growing anything - you just put a dry cube in there and let it touch the water at the bottom - is that the best way to do it? Even with seeds? Or does this only work with seedlings? Thank you!

    • @mioangel1227
      @mioangel1227 6 років тому

      Serene Lim: Plants need darkness to photosynthesis. He said, he keep the light on for 10 hours only. If you have a chance to get them outside 8 hours, give them 2 hours of indoor light. I'm in the learning process too. I live in a country of remarkable Seasons, being Winter now, I started my seeds indoor, after germination I placed them under growing light for 18 hours, for 7 days, now 14 hours. When the temperature rise I bring the cool weather crops outside for a few hours of sunlight.

All the small plants are dead. many of them have dropped leaves and most have white rot on them. all leaves are wilted and they have almost stopped growing. I have taken off some leaves that seem dead. what can I do to save some of them?

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  7 років тому +1

      Rinse off the residue and pick off the most damaged leaves. As long as the tip is not damaged, they will come back. If they are large enough, even if the tip is damaged, they will grow sides.
