can someone make this guy his own show on amazon or something?! wow super impressed with the simplicity of this video, and i got a bunch of info out of it.
Wow I love how you put together the whole timeline in a single video... you release so many videos that you must have a bunch of them going at the same time! Good work, brother. Keep it up!
Wow thank you sir for the simplicity of hydroponics. Because I'll be sharing this with a friend who's family was impacted by a hurricane in Puerto Rico. Need food desperately. Your a prayer answered, Blessing to you!
This is what I was looking for, simple process of hydroponics... Been thinking to make my hydroponics but don't know how to start since a lot of the videos I have seen was using complicated equipment. and expensive.
You make it look very simple and doable. I am very encouraged to start my own lettuce plant. Do you have video where to get seeds and how to start from seeds? Thank you so much.
This is an interesting way of growing. I can see this being useful in a lot of ways. Thank you for sharing this information. I will be giving it a try. I should be able to get the same results using a Manson jar, right?
Great Explanation I did the and my lettuce no bigger than when i put it in good roots having the same problem with my hot peppers not even one in soil growing any ideas even tried epsom salts
Is there any disadvantage to starting the seedling in the whole water bottle to save refilling the half bottle? Also my fish water is good for underwater plants because of the ammonia but can the excess water from water changes be put into these bottles as a substitute for "nutrient water"? Love that all the updates are in one video by the way, keep this up!
Are there any other ways to bring down the ph to 5.5? If I used distilled water, do I still need to do something to bring it down? (this is to soak the rock wool)? I hear suggestions of lemon juice or vinegar - lots of people say it works, lots of people say it doesn't... Mr Starr, what do you think? Thank you for excellent videos... you are inspirational!
1. is this light wil be on 24/7 every day sir? 2. am from india , we have good sunlight 11 hours a day, can i keep in sunlight for 11 hours and remaining time should i keep in light system?
A tip with the GH Flora series, don't mix Micro, Grow and Bloom for lettuce. Leave out the Bloom and only mix the Micro and Grow. I only mix all three for fruiting crops.
@rollout the battle rapper Unless your tap water is quite hard (contains more Calcium) you are likely to run into Calcium deficiencies in hydro with tomato plants without CalMag/CaliMagic. You can always go ahead and start the plants up and see if it shows deficiencies later on :) If leaves start to whiten and flowers drop or you have blossom-end rot you just mix in some CalMag and all will be well
I accidentally came across your video while watching Rainbow Garden. I guess its fate as I was wondering how can I grow peppers indoor all year round. I grow peppers not so much for the fruit but for the leaves w/c I use for cooking (ex: chicken tinola). I wonder if I could grow kangkong (water spinach) and bok choy this way, considering both plants love water.
Hello Khang Starr!! I just have a quick question. Do you think this method is better compared to the other one that uses soil if I grow it vertically? I am planning to grow it outdoor and maybe indoor at night.
Hey Khang. You convince me enough to buy flora series. Apart from flora 3 solution, Cal Mag, and Epsom Salt, do you add additional nutrients? I'm also changing solution hot pepper plants as well.
very well explained video and not to mention great updates of the grow which is great as it proves the concept :) nice video dude you earned a sub from me :)
Two questions: How do you get your aerogarden to work like that, with just the lights? I have the same model and the pump always wants to work, so I have to fill it with water.... you seem to only have the lights on? How do you do that? Also, you didn't soak the rockwool cube - I've always soaked mine (as per the instructions) and I've never had any luck growing anything - you just put a dry cube in there and let it touch the water at the bottom - is that the best way to do it? Even with seeds? Or does this only work with seedlings? Thank you!
How long will the lettuce live like this? (or how many times can you harvest) I'm just wondering if it's worth the trouble vs buying ready to serve for 5 bucks a head.
Do you leave the lights turn on 24 hours or do you bring the pots outside to get the natural sunlight and then evening bring in to put under the light ?
Serene Lim: Plants need darkness to photosynthesis. He said, he keep the light on for 10 hours only. If you have a chance to get them outside 8 hours, give them 2 hours of indoor light. I'm in the learning process too. I live in a country of remarkable Seasons, being Winter now, I started my seeds indoor, after germination I placed them under growing light for 18 hours, for 7 days, now 14 hours. When the temperature rise I bring the cool weather crops outside for a few hours of sunlight.
Is it possible to cross big sweet peppers like Bell Peppers with little hot peppers ( like Thai Birds Eye) I'm growing some this Season and was wondering... P.S. Great Explanation as always! Keep it up Khang!
This might be a dumb question, I live in Malaysia which is a tropical country and I would love to grow some Grapes preferably in hydroponics system, what would it takes for me to archive that? can you show us how to do it first?
Hey Khang. I used too much soap and neem on my chilli's and its totally wiped out my crop. All the small plants are dead. many of them have dropped leaves and most have white rot on them. all leaves are wilted and they have almost stopped growing. I have taken off some leaves that seem dead. what can I do to save some of them?
Rinse off the residue and pick off the most damaged leaves. As long as the tip is not damaged, they will come back. If they are large enough, even if the tip is damaged, they will grow sides.
I have never had lettuce bolt in hydroponic because I always harvest a bunch of times. Even if I don't harvest, they will not bolt very fast. I wouldn't worry about that.
1. is this light wil be on 24/7 every day sir? 2. am from india , we have good sunlight 11 hours a day, can i keep in sunlight for 11 hours and remaining time should i keep in light system?
Thank you for opening my eyes to Kratky! With the water bottle lettuce, could you skip the small bottle steps and just set a 2" net pot into a 2 liter or gallon jug to "set it and forget it?" Also, what ph are you using and how many hours light? Thank you!
1. is this light wil be on 24/7 every day sir? 2. am from india , we have good sunlight 11 hours a day, can i keep in sunlight for 11 hours and remaining time should i keep in light system?
I'm curious do you make enough revenue from UA-cam to cover your cost to make these videos or like me do you pay out of your own pocket ? what I mean is like buying supplies like nutrients and net cups and grow tents and lights and things for projects. Thanks Khang! I really enjoy your videos and please keep up the great work👍
_"5 ml Micro, 5 ml Gro, 5 ml Bloom"_ - could somebody please tell me what exactly those are? nutrients I'm assuming, but what exactly are the chemicals there? PLEASE HELP
I was wondering how you make your hydroponic solution then I was Nutrients:. What is Micro, Gro and Bloom? I made a solution from another UA-cam'r and it almost killed my plants.
I just checked Amazon and can't find anything under Micro except a bunch of little things. Can someone post a picture of the products? I don't like killing my plants.
can someone make this guy his own show on amazon or something?!
wow super impressed with the simplicity of this video, and i got a bunch of info out of it.

You are a genius!!! I love how you use everyday household items to grow your food
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar! Great Job!
This is what I was looking for, simple process of hydroponics... Been thinking to make my hydroponics but don't know how to start since a lot of the videos I have seen was using complicated equipment. and expensive.
Kory Grahams - Same here! I don't use bottled water, but they're easy to come by. Can't wait to try it.
This is great for my birds. Catnip too :)
Instead of using the cups could you use the top of bottle upside down and cut the top off to grow the roots. Love your videos - thanks.
Please do another contest. I like the variety of plants that you have and want to try hydroponics.
You make it look very simple and doable. I am very encouraged to start my own lettuce plant. Do you have video where to get seeds and how to start from seeds? Thank you so much.

truly amazing looking lettuce fella thanks for the knowledge that you continue to teach thank you
Great idea! I still need to get some net cups and rockwool.
Great Explanation I did the and my lettuce no bigger than when i put it in good roots having the same problem with my hot peppers not even one in soil growing any ideas even tried epsom salts

Hi Khang Starr I enjoy your videos. Very helpful and encouraging. Would I be able to make a net cup out of small single serving yogurt cups?
If you want something that you can reuse as a substrate instead of rock wool. You can use clay pebbles
Hi Jhang I have a question for you should I be using cal mag with hydroponic tomatoes? Right now I'm using CX horticulture A B and regen a root
do you keep the ;lights on all day and night?
Where do you buy black bucket and that thing you put letters thanks
Are there any other ways to bring down the ph to 5.5? If I used distilled water, do I still need to do something to bring it down? (this is to soak the rock wool)? I hear suggestions of lemon juice or vinegar - lots of people say it works, lots of people say it doesn't... Mr Starr, what do you think? Thank you for excellent videos... you are inspirational!
Wow you get such amazing results. Have you compared LED vs natural sunlight?
Natural lights always win.
1. is this light wil be on 24/7 every day sir?
2. am from india , we have good sunlight 11 hours a day, can i keep in sunlight for 11 hours and remaining time should i keep in light system?
Thanks for sharing, very easily follow. God bless.
Rewatching bc it's fun :)
The Khang coozy method is born! Nice!
Great video! Would love to see this method using the MasterBlend lettuce mix!!!
This is within my reach thank you
I'll try your method! Thank you for sharing!

Do you start with the rock wool cube wet? And if so what do you do to keep it wet
Can u Pls do à video with nutrients are u use for this exemple? Pls Pls Pls... I mean.. How much water and how much evrything else... Plssssss
What kind of house plant could I start in a setup like this? I've never done any hydroponics before so I'd need something easy to start with.
Can you put it outdoor?
Hey Khang. You convince me enough to buy flora series. Apart from flora 3 solution, Cal Mag, and Epsom Salt, do you add additional nutrients? I'm also changing solution hot pepper plants as well.
Is it plain water or do u add something?what do u add?
very well explained video and not to mention great updates of the grow which is great as it proves the concept :) nice video dude you earned a sub from me :)
do you think it's possible to do that industrial?
Great idea with the beer holders!
What is it for?
@@mellaascano471 Blocks the sunlight so algae doesn't grow in the water.
@@Arnd2it thanks for responding, I just noticed your comment was 3 years ago already. Thanks 😇
Khang,
What kind of lighting are you using in this experiment? I'd like to get one if I could.
Thanks,
Vicki
I used the light from my AeroGarden Bounty. Search that model and you can read all about the specs.
seem very simple, where do you buy bulk water cress and others seed or rock wool thx
Amazon is usually where I get most of my stuff, love the fast shipping.
Hi
Khang Starr, do you leave your grolights ON 24x7? Just curious. Thanks
What kind of lights do you used sir?
Hi Khang, awesome tutorial! Do you think this is possible to leave outside in the sun to grow?
Yes, browse my channel, there are a few videos on that. ua-cam.com/video/LQQlHnQ7fPU/v-deo.html
what variety of lettuce is that? Looks amazing!
I think the are Red Butterhead.
What is the ppm strength you use in your lettuce grow
Is the rockwool damped after you tranfered the seedlings?

This is the bounty. There is a pump plug, just pull it if you don't want it to run.
I only drink Ozarka. The other Grandparent’s vet tested them all! Daphne the dog only drinks Ozarka!! Never throwing another bottle away !
Any hints as to why my kratky lettuce is so bitter?
Anh ơi tuyệt quá! Toàn những thứ em đang tìm để xem. Cám ơn anh nhiều lắm :3
Hi Khang, what is the light type, temperature, schedule, and wattage you are using?
Light is LED from AeroGarden. Schedule is 8 AM to 6:30 PM. I'm not sure the wattage, but you can rease AeroGarden Bounty and read it.
How long will the lettuce live like this? (or how many times can you harvest) I'm just wondering if it's worth the trouble vs buying ready to serve for 5 bucks a head.
I have cut mine up to 6 times.
got it, thanks:)
Do you leave the lights turn on 24 hours or do you bring the pots outside to get the natural sunlight and then evening bring in to put under the light ?
They are inside the entire time, lights run 10 hours per day.
Can I not have the lights turn on for so long except at night whilst during the day, I can bring them out for natural sun shine?
Serene Lim: Plants need darkness to photosynthesis. He said, he keep the light on for 10 hours only. If you have a chance to get them outside 8 hours, give them 2 hours of indoor light. Can we reuse Rockwell cube, what are the specification of light it needs to grow and will it grow with normal water
Yash Sheth you can use clay pebbles instead. If you want to re use it
Is it possible to cross big sweet peppers like Bell Peppers with little hot peppers ( like Thai Birds Eye) I'm growing some this Season and was wondering...
P.S. Great Explanation as always! Keep it up Khang!
Of course, habañeros can be crossed with bell peppers for example.
You can refer to this chart to see if they will work well www.thechileman.org/guide_crossing_peppers.php
Thanks you two a lot for the information, it is the first growing season for me!
This might be a dumb question, I live in Malaysia which is a tropical country and I would love to grow some Grapes preferably in hydroponics system, what would it takes for me to archive that? can you show us how to do it first?
check out my friend's page. He has so much information that may help you with your grapes plus.google.com/u/0/113290266682034004240
Khang Starr Thanks Khang
I like using empty hydrogen peroxide bottles. Size works well and it blocks light!
Ian Matthes great tip 👍🏽

Would you do the same if you start from seeds?
Yes, exactly same.
Does anyone know what variety this particular lettuce is. Thank you.
These are red butterhead.
I'd be concerned flora series would promote flowering / bolting in lettuce?
or is flora an alternative to Maxi grow
Why would you be concern? Is it because it has the Bloom formula?
Khang Starr exactly!
beautiful plants tho!!!! I might make a little indoor grow box just for 2 cups like this 😍
I have never had lettuce bolt in hydroponic because I always harvest a bunch of times. Even if I don't harvest, they will not bolt very fast. I wouldn't worry about that.
may i know what are the nutrients you added sir?
check the description section at the bottom. I used GH Flora series and listed the mix in details.
So you used like 7 different chemicals
Thank you for sharing..
1. is this light wil be on 24/7 every day sir?
2. am from india , we have good sunlight 11 hours a day, can i keep in sunlight for 11 hours and remaining time should i keep in light system?
Check out my other video. I do this outdoors ua-cam.com/video/wtLdSSN6jyY/v-deo.html&lc=Ugzc6njzNs6274z14GR4AaABAg
Can you reuse the rock wool?
I would not recommend it, but I have dried it up and reused before.
Khang Starr thanks for replying. Keep on making these great videos 🙂
from where we can get Rock wool cubes?
Holy Jonson amazon
or ebay (cheaper) - if you want to go really cheap, you can use fiber-fill from walmart...
Thank you for opening my eyes to Kratky! With the water bottle lettuce, could you skip the small bottle steps and just set a 2" net pot into a 2 liter or gallon jug to "set it and forget it?" Also, what ph are you using and how many hours light? Thank you!

You don't need the net cup just flip the top piece of the bottle and press in

I do this because I enjoy gardening and sharing what I learn with people. I buy everything out of pocket.
can you use the hydro method for herbs also? -and I know what what you're thinking..! but NOT those herbs!! LOL
Yes, I have grown many herbs this way. Basil is the easiest.
🖒.Would like to see the watermelon finished. .Obviously a hater gave you a thumbs down😒
hahah Yes, I think it's the same person in every video.
_"5 ml Micro, 5 ml Gro, 5 ml Bloom"_ - could somebody please tell me what exactly those are? nutrients I'm assuming, but what exactly are the chemicals there? PLEASE HELP
It's fox farm. You can find it on amazon.
Valeria Vagapova just buy some liquid fertilizer for vegetables.
you should show your face more in your videos, you're beautiful... also can you use moss instead of rockwool?
hahah thanks! I am not sure if moss will alter pH, but you can use any medium that is inert. Clay pebbles are a great option.
do you keep the light turned on 24x7?
10 hrs per day.
I was wondering how you make your hydroponic solution then I was Nutrients:. What is Micro, Gro and Bloom? I made a solution from another UA-cam'r and it almost killed my plants.
Kevin Stoltz micro grow and bloom in that order for a mild mix 1 teaspoon per gallon these are part of general hydroponics flora line
I have never heard of Micro, Gro and Bloom. Can I order them on internet under just those simple names?
I just checked Amazon and can't find anything under Micro except a bunch of little things. Can someone post a picture of the products? I don't like killing my plants.
Kevin Stoltz you can get them at amazon in a kit for 30 some dollars just tip in flora nutritants
Kevin Stoltz or type in flora micro
💯
Wheres your new aerogarden?
It arrived two days ago, haven't opened it yet. I have plans for more testings now that I have two exact models.
this one is a bit too complicated/involved, so I will stick with your previous version...
Thanks for your sharing! I love chilli too and find out more great videos from you, (y)
