Wonderful. I remember him opening his show with Quicksand at the Barrowland in Glasgow 1997. He came out on stage with just himself and a 12 string guitar, I was only 3 feet away from my idol. It is still one of the highlights of my life. Thanks for sharing.

I absolutely love it when he sometimes gets the lyrics wrong. There's something very pure in that. Shows us that even though he was an alien, he was also human.

If you watch Musicladen he screws up Heroes and if you catch other performances during that tour he did it in the same spot. It seemed more like part of his theatre than a real flub. Then again, when I saw him at Roseland he had his lyrics book. He commented that he doesn’t usually need it however if he doesn’t bring it he forgets some words.

He just put a smile on my face and tears in my eyes at the same time. How lucky are we to exist in a world David Bowie lived.

Always good to hear one of the songs that doesn't get performed live that often.

Quite a night in retrospect. None of us NY fans knew that - for most of us - this would be the last time we ever saw him.

Probably my favourite track on the album and for me one of the best things he ever did. The lyrics are phenomenal, "I'm the twisted name on Garbo's eyes, Living proof of Churchill's lies, I'm destiny" Does it get any better than this?

Goebbels eyes. Hes talking about nazi joseph goebbels. David bowie was obsessed with nazi occultism during the hunky dory album period

David Ford - that’s not the right lyric. It’s Garbos eyes. However, the earlier lyric does reference himmler, another Nazi scum who was interested in the occult. Apparently Bowie changed the lyrics later to remove the reference to himmler. There are pages written about this song online that analyze the possible intent.

as a Christian.. I appreciate Satan's songs. if he were not, we would not hear him.
at the days end..Satan answers to God. Satan is not the creator. El Quanna. the God of Abraham is who made us in his image. but I vicariously appreciate that angel who fell.
