- Back over on "The Ridge" working up some nice Red Oak and White Oak on a beautiful spring evening! Loaded up a trailer load and prepared some more logs for later on to load up in the dumptruck.

I luv these wood videos it reminds me of my childhood. With my daddy & grandfather cutting wood for the winter
I really enjoy getting out in the woods and cutting wood. Just feels right! Especially in the fall and winter. I have some really good memories as well watching my dad and papaw cut wood 😊

I’m just going to try and work at it a little bit each week! I think if I get the tractor over there I can peck away at it and make some ground up, especially with some of the bigger pieces. Appreciate it Todd 👍🏻

I’ve been picking some of the ones that are kind of isolated in the woods, and pleasurable to cut 🤣 I’m going to bring out the Kubota this week and see what I can drag out and load up. Have a good week Jacob

It’s definitely nice to be able to get what I want, but it’s hard to leave wood behind. Just don’t have time to get it all before it goes bad

Guy could make a living setting up right there cutting an splitting for a few months . I think ya right just cut em log length an take ‘em out with the tractor and do the cutting an splitting back home .
That’s going to be my plan going forward. Except for the stuff I can’t get the tractor to easily. Get me a good load of logs and just haul them home 👌🏻

It was a good day in the woods. It’s definitely a lot of wood. Going to start hauling out by the load in log form now 😅😅 I’ll Save the bucking up for the ones deeper in the bush

When my dad used to cut wood for he cut everything no matter how big or how small. He didn't waste nothing off of the tree
I definitely try to utilize all I can. But unfortunately since I got to these trees a few years after they were logged, most of the limb wood and smaller branches have began to rot, along with the stuff that’s been laying in the ground. I’m trying to get everything that’s usable. I wish I’d been able to get access to these trees sooner

They were left from loggers that logged the timber
White oak logs 🪵 good money 💴 for whiskey 🥃 and wine 🍷 barrels buddy . Look 👀 to be a lot of firewood 🪵 on the ground. Your lucky we got 7 ‘ feet of snow ❄️ ( white gold ) last night turn over to rain 🌧 at 3:23 am . Come in bucket 🪣 and them the wind 💨 pick up to 142 miles in the wreck house area . No problem power is on for breakfast and coffee or tea ☕️ this morning. Take care B carful Think 🤔 SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST around chainsaw and farm equipments. 😊

Run trailer w the MF then ya can load it to max and fill up the bucket too. And not get stuck. That reminds me of my ash woods, looks the same except these aren't down cuz of logging and you've got way less undergrowth. And watch where you're walking.
I’ve got some things planned for this week to maybe make it just a little bit easier on me! It don’t involve Sassy but I’m gonna bring the big Kubota out and put it to work! Came up with a converted carryall for all my stuff 🤣 I am lucky that the underbrush hasn’t taken over. I think the cows may have helped on that.
@@McKameyFarms bigger tractor is always better. Between the canopy being almost wide open now w all the ash dead combined w me closing the creek flats off to the cows 20yrs ago, undergrowth is crazy wild. Ice storm did hell of a number on the American wire fence that runs along the RR
That’s an awful lot to take on by yourself, Brandon. Can your family help you to at least load the rounds?
It’s definitely a lot, I may be able to get a little help but I think I’m definitely going to start taking out in log form and bucking at the house. I do like getting out in the woods and getting some exercise, but it’s a lot 😊 I still like it better than the gym Lol.
