Cooking A Quail

  • I'm going to show you how I like to cook my quails.
    Quails are the best when you butcher them when they are about 6 - 8 weeks old.
    BRINE FOR QUAILS:
    4 cups water
    1/2 cup salt (I like mines on the salty side)
    2 bay leaves
    2 garlic cloves
    10-12 peppercorns
    add whatever else you like to make it your own custom brine.
    MARINADE from 8 to 24 hours in the fridge
    In the oven it goes for about 15 minutes at 450F till temp reaches 160F. Oven temps vary, so keep an eye on it with a meat thermometer.
    I mentioned in the video that "expert chefs" recommend that the meat should be slightly pink. However, I like mines done perfectly, and feel free to play around with your quail cooking and decide for yourself what best suits your tastebuds.
    Another method that I like to use is to cook them in a ninja cooker. Set the ninja to "steam and crisp" setting. 425F and should be done in about 11-13 mins. Once again keep an eye on it with a meat thermometer.
