It's triple digits here in Hemet Ca so I'm spending it inside to beat the heat - a little housework, some video watching and a cold drink, sounds good to me! Beautiful area there. The summit looks like a great place to meditate too. Just curious, has the smells of outdoor ever brought around wild animals like a bear for example?

You were sitting there cooking, then eating that steak and I was sitting her drooling because it looks so delicious and tender with those mushrooms... I'm going to cook chicken fried rice for supper today. Everything is prepared and all I will need to do is cook the ingredients. Now, hearing myself tell you what I'm going to cook for dinner, I'm drooling all over again! LOL! That view up the mountain was breathtaking!

@@OutdoorsWithV It was good! When I went to nuke the last of the fried rice I goofed up and put it in to heat too long and it burned to a crisp. But thankfully, it didn't explode. It looked pitiful...

awesome vid. for future reference you might not want to cook in the tent though, unless you want a bear in there with you. in addition to the smell during, it stays in the cloth for a long time. in bear dense areas its even recommended to cook a ways from your tent area....that area looks like former strip mining land. keep up the good work and enjoy the outdoors.

The "seasoning"(as commonly refereed to) on a cast iron skillet is actually plasticised oil, which acts as a nonstick coating which protects the pan from rust. While there still was likely literal seasoning from your steak in the pan that got on your mushrooms, thats not what people mean when they say 'seasoning' in reference to cast iron skillets...

@@OutdoorsWithV When there is something left from cooking something such as your steak and you cook something such as the mushrooms, you cooked after the steak, the residue of the steak that's left in the pan is called the fond. The mushrooms have a lot of water in them and, as they begin to cook down, that liquid from them loosens the crust (fond) from the steak and the mushrooms pick up some of the flavor from the steak and that makes them taste even better. It's called, de-glazing the pan. ( I learned that from the Food Network shows, although I had always done it, I didn't know the terms...) 😋😁👍

In the beginning of the video, I am going to guess you were on I-64 west and headed over the hump at Afton MT. I think you passed the pull out dedicated to VDOT workers (on the other side of I-64).
Have you ever gone to the St Marys Wilderness further down I-64/81? Was a great little get away until Hurricane Elizabeth ripped it up. Unfortunately, need to back pack in (no car camping). Has (Or Had) a small water falls with swimming hole about 2 miles in from the trail head..
