You have just described the last three years of my life (and still going) I have never felt to seen. Thank you!! And more importantly, huge congratulations to you; I’m so glad to see you will be meeting your newest little one in no time!!
Congratulations Abby! I’m so happy for you and your family. My mom always identified with that movie scene when she struggled to have my sister and I. I think that is so cool! I would like to say that some of your comments about genetic testing rang very ableist. I know you appreciate these types of nuisances in communication. I wish I could tell you how to change what you said to make it not have those implications. But honestly, I have no idea how to cover the decision to take genetic testing without implying that a fetus with a disability is unacceptable. I appreciate the effort you make and wish I could be more helpful than just pointing it out. Thank you for sharing.
Tabatha Poelstra thanks for sharing that! I get that’s a personal choice but I also like to have all of the I formation we can have to prepare for whatever we may have in store
Thank you for sharing your story! I think a video on the pill would be really cool. I was on the pill since I was 16-27 and I went off to get pregnant. I was experiencing very irregular periods, and yet as soon as my husband and I started trying I was able to get pregnant, so I’m very curious how that all works! Also, I am also very science minded and I think your choice to donate to science is also a help to other people and to the greater good! Just amazing Abbey!
We adopted our daughter💗although our process was quick i will say it is stressful and emotionally exhausting💗but many things are and if we dont get pregnant we will do it again💗🤗😁i would love to carry a baby in my belly tho🤗
I’m 22 and been on the pill for 3 years and recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis 6 months ago. I’m planning to come off the pill because I’m afraid that these two things would increase my possibility to become infertile by the time I want a baby. I would love to see a comprehensive review on this topic. I love your channel btw💕
You briefly explained the Mercy transfer but I’m not sure I understand... what is the point of using the embryos when you wouldn’t ovulate? It is like a “guilt-free” way of getting rid of the embryos?
correct. i guess for religious folks its a way for them to let Gd deal with them "naturally" .. even though, i mean, in my opinion, it seems no different than destroying them any other way but everyone has their own values and goals and i respect that!
Abbey i know this is not related to this video but could you do a meal review on Thomas Delauer? considering how large his channel is getting.... he seems very "healthy" keto focussed.
I dont mean this in a bitchy way. I swear I dont. But does that mean that you'd be more okay with your (embryo)child being killed for science over someone else raising them? What does donating them to science mean? Honest question. I'm just curious on the thought process?
Adoption needs to be changed in the public eye from being a last resort after fertility treatments. It's not about whether or not it's easier, that shouldn't even be the tie breaker. Children already out there waiting for homes need to come first before ones that look like me and share my DNA. Also respectfully, you seem to be using "pro-life" and "religious" interchangeably which isn't close to accurate.
Renata Randolph thats true! Thank you and that wasn’t my suggestion. But adoption is a personal choice. I was just responding to criticism that adoption was easier than ivf
Renata Randolph right, I know plenty of atheist/humanist pro-lifers who would object to some of her responses in this video. More and more people of all backgrounds are becoming pro-life so it’s an old stereotype that needs to end already.
Should have added! You make great content and i just had to put it out there non hatefully because those specific parts of this specific video were saddening.
PCOS goes often hand in hand with insulin-resistance (ua-cam.com/video/w3hm1rhOiRc/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/Aw8hufhIDu0/v-deo.html). Insulin-resistance is often caused by ingesting too much saturated fat and protein such that they inactivate the insulin and the muscles cells cannot burn the glycose in the blood anymore which results in high unbalanced blood sugar levels. Abbey eats a very sugar and oil heavy diet. Abbey is a big fan of olive oil, which contains 14% saturated fat. Now combine Abbey’s sugar heavy diet with a high saturated fat intake, sleep deprivation due to her insomnia issues plus a genetically pre-disposition for PCOS. Now wonder to me that she is infertile. Maybe a "simple" diet and lifestyle change would have helped Abbey to alleviate her PCOS symptoms...
Honestly, you donating your embryos to science makes me really happy. Like, through the scientific exploration in a really roundabout way you still could be helping families having children. I really respect you and your decision
It would be super cool to see you have a conversation with Mama Doctor Jones! She's an OBGYN and is a plethora of knowledge on all things reproductive health and pregnancy. Another wonderful woman of science, and she has a great channel. This is a topic that definitely needs to be less taboo, thank you for sharing your story!
I like her videos but I find she’s very close minded on birth control pills. Most gynecologists downplay the side effects and she has plenty of videos doing that very thing.
When I was in school, we had lovely and comprehensive sex education in both elementary school AND middle school. But I'm from Oregon, so it might be different in other states? Idk
My experience in Catholic school in Australia: showed a birthing video in science class with literally no context, no contraception, no pleasure, just fear tactics. The end.
@@AbbeysKitchen I dont know where this misconception came that it's so easy to adopt. I like to use the example of Channon Rose hear on YT. She has one child nearly 1.5 and she recently did her egg retrieval for IVF round 2. Because she was in the adult entertainment industry when she was younger, shes disqualified from adopting. And people are complete assholes in her comments section about her not adopting. Even had she had no interest in adopting, that's perfectly fine. I dont understand why people think it's perfectly acceptable for them to have and voice their opinions on how strangers choose to grow their families and then are aghast when their views arent taken to heart and others dont change their course of action.
Bethany B are u talking about birth control? Because the pill does not cause infertility. Within 6 months - 1 year conception rates are the same as those who have not been on the pill. Mama doctor Jones (a mom and obgyn) posts many videos on her UA-cam about these issues. She’s also on tik tok :)
I don't know how feasible this is, but it'd be really cool if you worked with Mama Doctor Jones (ob/gyn and mom to 4) on the birth control video! She's all about the research.
I am 37 and have decided not to have any children. The older I’ve gotten my desire for children went away. My husband (who is a few years older) worries that we may regret not having any as we get older. It’s such a monumental life changing decision to have children and to hear about infertility struggles is really interesting and well needed. Thank you for talking about this.
I’m not sure why. All the pill does is suppress ovulation. You are born with millions of eggs that deplete with age. Many athletes have amenorrhea and they eventually have children.
I don't want to perpetuate bad or pseudoscience, but Drs are SO adamant to keep saying BC doesn't cause infertility. But with long term use on the rise along with PCOS, idk why their isn't MORE research being done!
I got married at 19, and my son was conceived within my first month of marriage. When I told my dad, his first response was to tell me not to get too attached since a miscarriage was likely. The thought of miscarriage made me so sad and really scared me. I didn’t miscarry, but I have a new, profound respect and understanding for women who experience difficulties conceiving
I don’t really feel that a dietician should be making a video about the effects of the birth control pill. That is something that an obgyn would be suited to discuss. Maybe ask Mamadoctorjones to do that video
Is Mamadoctorjones the only obgyn on the internet? Or is there some sort of confirmation bias behind everyone who advocates the pill, and presumably is or was on the pill bc, seems to support her and only her? There are LOTS of obgyns and other doctors/scientists who will tell you that the pill can have longterm effects in fertility. Furthermore, people who aren't necessarily doctors sharing their experiences is important. I know so many people who have experienced various devestating side effects from birth control, and their voices matter. The issue I see is people getting defensive and assuming that those sharing their negative experiences with the pill are automatically bashing it, saying it's not a good option, or advocating restricting access to it, which is not the case AT ALL. However there's something to be said about how secure you are in your belief ir position when someone sharing their personal experience comes across as threatening to you. Something like 80% of women will use hormonal contaceptives at some point in their lives; it's not like we're still fighting for that right or like it's taboo. Literally everyone uses it and most people aren't affected too negatively. So with that being said I will never understand the issue birth control advocates have with someone simply sharing their story 🐸☕
I had to exclusively pump for two months with my son, and to be honest I don’t think I could of done it for a year. He thankfully learned how to latch after getting his tongue tie cut and we made it to a year. I applaud you for exclusively pumping that long! It was such an emotional toll on me and I only had to do it for a short while
Such an interesting q&a I have 2 children naturally but have recently been diagnosed with pcso , having had only 1 miscarriage previously so I’m just so lucky to have my family . So intricate the whole ivf and this is so great for people to know I’m only 29 so I may have problems if I want to have any more children . Great work and looking forward to more videos xxxx
VERY interested in the effect of the Pill/hormonal birth control on fertility and the reproductive organs. :) Thank you for sharing your story! Edit: I would also be very interested to hear your thoughts on Lara Briden's content on PCOS, her info is quite different than what most doctors are telling people atm, and has been very eye opening for me.
I’m new to your channel, and I’m really enjoying your positive and balanced perspectives. First, you are a freaking warrior for exclusively pumping for a year. I can’t imagine what a challenge that was. I’m not sure if this is in your specific realm of expertise, but I’d be really interested in a dietician’s perspective on the choices we make when feeding our children - breastmilk/formula, what to look for in formula brands if going that route, how long to breastfeed, when to offer solids and how, etc. Thanks for this great channel!
I am religious and absolutely respect you donating your embryos to science. What a beautiful thing to do! While you're not directly "giving" your embryos to another couple, your sacrifice of giving them to science will benefit so many families and babies with the research that is done on them. Blessings on your pregnancy ♥️
@@Sarah-d9p7u But a lot of people are religious and still think women should be able to choice for themselves... So I was giving them a chance to explain themselves.
Thank you so much for sharing. I'm a fellow pregnant PCOS mama with a toddler 🌸 It isn't easy to travel through pregnancy loss and fertility treatments, and there is still so much stigma around the topic of infertility. you speak on it so eloquently 🌈
If you're wanting to give medical or pharmaceutical advice, I think it would be best practice to do a collaboration with a medical doctor or pharmacist. You've mentioned many times for other health professionals to "stick to their lane" - which I totally agree with
Susie for sure! And I would NEVER give medical advice! All I can do is present the research, that’s all I can do! But I will see if I can find a dr to comment!
It would be much appreciated if you could find a medical doctor to comment. The issue with "just presenting the research" is not having the expertise to interpret that research. This is the same as medicos, personal trainers & other non-dietitians "presenting the research" on nutrition. In my opinion, dietitians & nutritionists would have the expertise & are better placed to do this.
Thanks so much for sharing your story, Abbey. I'm a genetic counselor working in preimplantation genetic testing. I know your openness is invaluable for the folks out there who are struggling with infertility. But it also helps me to hear about the process from a patient perspective. It's easy to get wrapped up in the scientific side of things and forget the humanity of ART. Your content reminds me why I do what I do! Thanks again.
Haha! We are really close in age! Pregnant with second with DE IVF at age 31 but I'll be 32 when baby is born. Haha! My husband is French Canadian and ended up being a carrier for Tay-Sachs and me being basically Scottish and German I had such a low chance so similar we had no overlap in genetic issues. Also as someone who used donor egg I completely get your stance on donating the embryos. I don't think I could donate my eggs if I'd had any!
Im a Registered Dietitian going through IVF and you talking about feeling out of control of this process really spoke to me! As RDs we are SO type A and its so hard not to have more control of this awful situation that we found ourselves in! I love following your journey
Would love a video on post pill amenorrhea! It took me about 15 months to regain a period after stopping the pill (was on it for 4 years). I found that scary, and would never go back on the pill just from that experience 😬
I can highly recommend the book "Taking charge of your fertility" by T. Welscher. It basically covers everything around fertility (natural contraception as well as conceiving).
I really don’t want to know if I am infertile ,something is telling me I’m not but I’m unsure ,I just want to try to conceive and let it be a surprise even though I don’t like surprises lol
This is chilling. My husband are trying for our first. I am 31. Got off the pill after 13 years in July 2019, no period as of yet (secondary amenorrhea). Except I do not have PCOS, I have something called non-classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia, was diagnosed at 5. It’s somewhat similar though. I’ve been on corticosteroids to see if I can get a cycle for about a month now and I’m miserable but my blood levels look MUCH better so keeping fingers crossed. Considering starting IVF though in July if nothing else works and I’m terrified. Thank you for this video!! You have definitely de-mystified the process!! I also love that you’re donating your blastocysts to science 💜
Maybe in America it is different but surrogacy as I see it is not a very feminist issue... I mean it is in the stats that women who are surrogates are from the poorest areas of our society and in social exclusion risk and they really do need the money. It’s not like “I carry somebody else’s baby because it makes me so happy to help”. Just commenting I mean I think it’s just not OK to normalise it.
Jana Oliveras Solà i agree, it’s disproportionately lower income women, but a bit less so in Canada bc we can’t actually pay surrogates directly, just expenses and gifts but it’s way less of a money maker here
You touched on age so I wanted to share that I am 39 and pregnant via ivf. I also have PCOS and insulin resistance. I was convinced I would become a gestational diabetic but at 32 weeks I appear to be starting clear of that hurdle. I am high risk because of age and a few other issues but everything looks great.
Abbey please do a video on the pill and infertility! The info that I've gotten to date was that it can delay ovulation returning but that it did not have any long term effects. This is the first time I've heard that the pill might be related to infertility and I'm freaking out hahah
Please review a full day of eating with nuttyfoodiefitness on UA-cam. Interested to hear your thoughts on her eating style. Think she might surprise you
Hormonal types of BC do not result in a period, as you are describing. This is instead called withdrawal bleeding and might resemble menstrual bleeding but is most definitely not, as a menstrual cycle does not occur on hormonal BC. If you are on non-hormonal BC, you may still get a period, but this depends on the type.
lots of issues actually.. first my son had a VERY severe lip and tongue tie, so bad the pediatric dentist and LC said it was the worst they had ever seen.. so we had it released at 10 days old. but the damage was already done bc it was so bad, his soft palate had formed concave which prevented him from ever getting a proper latch without screaming and being colicky. on top of that, i had supply issues so i had to go on domperidone to address that, eventually with a TON of work pumping every hour, supplements, and the drugs, i began overproducing and by the end of a year, i had frozen 100 L on top of everything he drank in the year.
Hi! love your videos. I would LOVE to see a video on post pill symptoms. I am 23 and I have hashimotos. I have been on the birth control pill since I was 16. After starting a natural health journey, I went off the pill 9 months ago and still haven't had a period. I have had all the hormonal tests, I don't have PCOS, MRI was fine, doctors don't really have an answer expect post pill amenorrhea. I am on the lower end of estrogen, but I'm told that shouldn't be the issue. Basically I am instructed to go back on the pill to regulate my periods but I am nervous it is doing damage for when I actually do want to have children. I ALSO was wondering if you could include some information on the difference between the pill & IUDs and if those would be better. Also if anyone has advice or similar situation that would be great (: Thanks so much. much love.
For everyone who wants a video about post pill issues, please remember two things: 1) She’s a dietician and not a doctor. If you have any questions, talk with your OBGYN. 2) Every body reacts different to medications. Her experience will probably not be the same as yours and that’s why is very important to choose a care provider who will listen your concerns.
I have a personal question for you, and I get if it is too personal so you dont want to answer. But what if there was a 'positive test' on the genetic tests? Would you do things differently? As I have a genetic disorder myself (PKU), I do ask myself that question, because passing on the disorder is reality. So therefore I ask, what would you do differently if you would know your child has an genetic disorder?
So glad the pill didn't agree with me (nausea and mega migraines) so never took any for long. Have 2 kids and am done. Don't like the idea of an iud or hormonal bc. Working on my man to get snipped....it's not going too well. Im pro-life (lower case p) but I understand where you are coming from. Never heard of a mercy transfer until now.
I've never heard of a side effect of the pill being amenorrhea. I feel like a doctor should have been more concerned about it. Was a specific type of pill that was meant to make you skip your period?
All hormonal BC options prevent periods. Many people believe they are getting a period, but this is not part of the menstrual cycle as it does not occur on hormonal BC. What many experience is “withdrawal bleeding” as a side effect of the hormones. Withdrawal bleeding resembles periods, but is NOT a period. If on hormonal BC, there is no medical explanation for having a period. I appreciate Abbey sharing her experience with hormonal BC and we need to remember that additional research is needed on the effects of long term usage of the pill.
I want to thank you for talking about exclusive pumping. My experience was only 16 weeks of EP until my little one was able to figure out breastfeeding, but that was such an isolating experience and there was not a lot of support from those around me. It was very overwhelming trying to figure everything out while being a new mom. I think it would be great if sometime you could do a post about EP so that maybe someone can see that info before they have their baby.
Just found ur channel and ur story gives me hope. Me and my hubby have been ttc for years and did our first ivf cycle last year which sadly didnt work i didnt make to the egg collection and i wasnt responding to the stimulating medication i was taking prior to egg collection. Im pretty sure i have pcos never been properly diagnosed but havent had a period in over a year and pretty certain i dont ovulate. Recent pelvic ultrasound showed alot of cysts. Waiting to get an appointment with a new gyno/fertility dr to see what we can do hoping i can finally get pregnant.
I'm a sharer too. I recently miscarried and was told by family that next time I should wait to say anything. Now my sister in law is pregnant and is rubbing the pregnancy in my face to hurt me. I didn't realize how crappy people can be and will definitely wait next time.
Don’t let people make you feel bad about your choices. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to donate your embryos to another family or choosing IVF over adoption.
I have thin endometrium 6mm my both tube cliped,,,I have one IVF failed ,,,remaining only one embryo is more at freezing,,,give me some opinion ,,, please,,,I trying to go for one more egg retrieval ,,,to go for making embryo,,,if only one embryo,,, can't go with these one embryo
I just watched your video about being a mum, my first thought was oh it's so easy for people to have kids. No idea that you went through this. I feel so good now.

I pumped about 9 times a week, when I was at work away from my daughter. I love nursing her but I HATED pumping. When she was about 9 months I went down to pumping once through my work day and I was so thrilled. At one year I stopped pumping all together. It was glorious! I don't know how you had the resolve to exclusively pump for a year. It's impressive and I hope you're proud of yourself!
I exclusively pumped for a year too. It was physically & emotionally draining. I got mastitis 5 times. Had a bout of thrush after doing antibiotics. During his first few months I tried cranial sacral therapy, took him to a tongue tie specialist. He didn't have a tongue tie, but was tight. I tried physical therapy. Nothing worked for me. So I chose to exclusively pump. I definitely can relate on that subject. I don't regret doing it; my son is healthy and thriving. I do dread though having to exclusively pump if I chose to w/ my second. Thank you for this Q+A!
Hi Abbey. I actually have the same issues as you do. After being on the pill fr 10 yrs, I came off the pill 11 months ago and I never got my period (normal re what I remember before). After doing my hormone work, my GP referred me to a fertility clinic. I have follicles on my ovaries but normal testosterone and I am not insulin resistant (low sugar actually). However, my body is not producing much estrogen and sometimes my prolactin is highish. I was also referred to an endocrinologist where I asked the same question you did re "in some people, can long term use of the pill cause pcos". No was the answer but the endocrinologist thinks that despite not being underweight (i even just put on 8kg), I exercise (HIIT etc) 6 days a week and this is too much for my body. So too much exercise and the pill has caused my brain to 'turn off' estrogen production. Therefore my eggs and lining never mature and stay as follicles in my ovaries - and we now have to turn the estrogen back on with daily FSH injections and metformin (even with the low sugar).
I know you can't give diagnoses over a UA-cam comment (obviously). But I wanted to ask your opinion on some pica issues I've been struggling with. I was addicted to eating ice cubes throughout high school and college, and about halfway through my first pregnancy. I found out I was iron deficient, got on LOTS of iron supplementation, and the problem went away for about a year and a half Now it's back even though my iron levels are normal. I don't understand it, I'm worried about my teeth, but if I don't eat it I feel so awful and lethargic and my depression even gets worse. Can eating ice be related to other mineral deficiencies or just iron? I ask because my dr. Does not take me seriously when I bring it up. I don't think he understands how invasive it is in my life. It's embarrassing that I can't even stop myself in public places like restaurants etc. I know it's gross to people and I just want to stop, but I also don't want to feel too tired to do anything.
Thank you for your story, vulnerability, and generosity (in your consideration to donate to science). ❤️ I would love to hear more about your experiences post-BC and the available research on long term effects. My mom had me and my sisters in her early twenties. She tried various forms of hormonal BC both before and after having children, only to learn hormonal BC caused serious and horrible side effects on her body. My sisters have both been on hormonal BC with limited issues, but I have avoided it out of concern of greater gynecological similarities to my mom and personal mental health. Given the biodiversity of our planet, bodies, and minds, it makes sense that positive BC effects for one could be vastly different for someone else.
YES PLEASE DO A video on infertility causes by birth control. I've been on depo shot for 9 years. I'm so scared I will never get pregnant...I stopped the depo shot 3 months ago.
A really good book that I have read called “This Is Your Brain on Birth Control” by Sarah E. Hill talks about the effects of birth control on women and society as a whole. It’s very interesting and worth the read. She also appeared on a podcast with Charlene Johnson and gave an overview on her research and book.

I had to exclusively pump for one of my kids due to undiagnosed lip/tongue ties. I still feel guilty about it and he's six. It's so emotionally exhausting.

Now wonder to me that she is infertile. Maybe a "simple" diet and lifestyle change would have helped Abbey to alleviate her PCOS symptoms...
@Minerva A I can list the studies as well but videos are more understandable. Abbey is not an expert!
Honestly, you donating your embryos to science makes me really happy. Like, through the scientific exploration in a really roundabout way you still could be helping families having children. I really respect you and your decision
thank you. that is my hope!
Empowered motherhood in 2020: allowing your children to live gives you a weird feeling so let them die for science.
@@charitys1198what? No. Also not everyone believes conception means it's alive. Many believe you have to be actually pregnant first
It would be super cool to see you have a conversation with Mama Doctor Jones!
Most gynecologists downplay the side effects and she has plenty of videos doing that very thing.

we weren't really told what sex is, just not to have it OR an abortion
When I was in school, we had lovely and comprehensive sex education in both elementary school AND middle school. But I'm from Oregon, so it might be different in other states? Idk
How strange we all got different sexual education stories. I'm from California, and went to Catholic school. We got ours in 5th grade.
My experience in Catholic school in Australia: showed a birthing video in science class with literally no context, no contraception, no pleasure, just fear tactics. The end.
I've said this before but I can't say it enough - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SO OPEN WITH THIS!!!

I’m happy to hear you talking about this. It’s a heartbreaking subject, but also a glorious subject because now you’re having a baby!!! 💛💛

I cant speak about in Canada, but in America, in most cases, adoption is significantly harder than IVF.
MrsPokits TheRiot I would agree it’s probably the same here
@@AbbeysKitchen I dont know where this misconception came that it's so easy to adopt.
As a 21 year old who had been on the pill for 6 years, I'd love a video on the pill and infertility. It's always something I've wondered about.
Bethany B will do!
That’s debatable.
Meg actually the science is pretty clear. Again, I suggest you check out mama doctor jones here on UA-cam. Have a great day :)
Meg it’s different when there is underlying conditions, such as pcos
These topics aren’t talked about nearly enough. Thanks for using your platform for highlighting women’s wellbeing
Thank you for listening!
I don't know how feasible this is, but it'd be really cool if you worked with Mama Doctor Jones (ob/gyn and mom to 4) on the birth control video! She's all about the research.
Bookluver2011 I’m going to reach out!
I am 37 and have decided not to have any children. The older I’ve gotten my desire for children went away. My husband (who is a few years older) worries that we may regret not having any as we get older. It’s such a monumental life changing decision to have children and to hear about infertility struggles is really interesting and well needed. Thank you for talking about this.
its better to regret not having children than to regret having them
I have always suspected the pill is what messed me up! I would love to see that video!
arachnidheist it’s coming!
@@AbbeysKitchen you are awesome!
Hayley Roche for sure! More research is definitely needed

If you lost your baby youd have an actual understanding.
I don’t really feel that a dietician should be making a video about the effects of the birth control pill. That is something that an obgyn would be suited to discuss. Maybe ask Mamadoctorjones to do that video
Abigail for sure I would never give advice, just lay out the evidence but I have been having more experts on so I’ll see if she or another dr is free
She was sharing her experience more than educating others
It was such an emotional toll on me and I only had to do it for a short while
two months is not a short while either. That's a huge effort! 🌸

Anne Marie thank you!
I am religious and absolutely respect you donating your embryos to science. What a beautiful thing to do! While you're not directly "giving" your embryos to another couple, your sacrifice of giving them to science will benefit so many families and babies with the research that is done on them. Blessings on your pregnancy ♥️
Rachel Pierson thank you so much ❤️
I'm sorry, but what does that have to do with your religion?
99% Unicorn The embryos are human life so many pro-life people are against discarding embryos from IVF
@@Sarah-d9p7u But a lot of people are religious and still think women should be able to choice for themselves... So I was giving them a chance to explain themselves.

It isn't easy to travel through pregnancy loss and fertility treatments, and there is still so much stigma around the topic of infertility. you speak on it so eloquently 🌈
Jessica E for sure

I can highly recommend the book "Taking charge of your fertility" by T. Welscher. It basically covers everything around fertility (natural contraception as well as conceiving).

Jana Oliveras Solà i agree, it’s disproportionately lower income women, but a bit less so in Canada bc we can’t actually pay surrogates directly, just expenses and gifts but it’s way less of a money maker here
I loved that Shirley Temple movie when I was a kid, too! It's really sweet that you still think of it that way ❤️

Please do a video on the effects the pill has on long term fertility!!!
working on researching now
You touched on age so I wanted to share that I am 39 and pregnant via ivf. I also have PCOS and insulin resistance. I was convinced I would become a gestational diabetic but at 32 weeks I appear to be starting clear of that hurdle. I am high risk because of age and a few other issues but everything looks great.

Don't you still get your period when you're on the pill, during the placebo period?
Beverly Lee sometimes people use the pill daily all month long. This lets people skip there period all together.
No you don’t. You have to ovulate in order to have a period.
Adoption can be very, very traumatic and no one should feel obligated to adopt instead of pursuing other means of having children.

I'm pregnant with a donated embryo right now and it means so much to our whole family. I do understand what you are saying though.
May I ask why breast feeding didn't work for you? I think it's awesome that you pumped for a year, that is HARD work!
lots of issues actually.. first my son had a VERY severe lip and tongue tie, so bad the pediatric dentist and LC said it was the worst they had ever seen.. so we had it released at 10 days old. but the damage was already done bc it was so bad, his soft palate had formed concave which prevented him from ever getting a proper latch without screaming and being colicky. on top of that, i had supply issues so i had to go on domperidone to address that, eventually with a TON of work pumping every hour, supplements, and the drugs, i began overproducing and by the end of a year, i had frozen 100 L on top of everything he drank in the year.
@@AbbeysKitchen Oh wow! You go girl! I'm guessing you'll give it another try with this little one. You are one determined gal!
Hi! love your videos. Also if anyone has advice or similar situation that would be great (: Thanks so much. much love.
You gain from lying to people.
I would like to see a video about post-pill issues :)
You are amazing 🌸
Larissa Fortmann ❤️❤️
For everyone who wants a video about post pill issues, please remember two things:
1) She’s a dietician and not a doctor.
Was a specific type of pill that was meant to make you skip your period?
nope, just a low dose birth control pill!
Ugly Vegan I’ve actually heard that it’s normal to lose you period will using the pill, it doesn’t happen to everyone, but I’ve heard is “normal”
Not sure if you’ve discussed it before, but just wondering what influenced your decision to pump exclusively vs pumping and breastfeeding combined?
Don’t let people make you feel bad about your choices. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to donate your embryos to another family or choosing IVF over adoption.
I have thin endometrium 6mm my both tube cliped,,,I have one IVF failed ,,,remaining only one embryo is more at freezing,,,give me some opinion ,,, please,,,I trying to go for one more egg retrieval ,,,to go for making embryo,,,if only one embryo,,, can't go with these one embryo

Please do a video about the birth control pill I would really appreciate it!
K Arielle right? I’m terrified I have to do that
Katie Bawden thank you for sharing! I bet this is more common than we think
I know you can't give diagnoses over a UA-cam comment (obviously). But I wanted to ask your opinion on some pica issues I've been struggling with.
I was addicted to eating ice cubes throughout high school and college, and about halfway through my first pregnancy. I found out I was iron deficient, got on LOTS of iron supplementation, and the problem went away for about a year and a half
Now it's back even though my iron levels are normal.
I know it's gross to people and I just want to stop, but I also don't want to feel too tired to do anything.
im so sorry hes not taking this seriously. i would actually see if you can get in to see a psychologist about this.
I love seeing this side of you Abbey! I hope to see more videos like this one! 💘
Given the biodiversity of our planet, bodies, and minds, it makes sense that positive BC effects for one could be vastly different for someone else.
yes, im working on it now.
