Even less than that, I would guess. At least nobody I know had any clue. But yeah, 100% behind Ryan and Blake on this, that douche is just being a douche because he was called out on being a douche.
What a fricking reach. Ryan has been mocking his Canadian heritage in media for years. The character is the equal opposite of Deadpool and caricature of Canadians often done in media. Leave my MCU out of this.

I don’t know or care what is or isn’t real here. But what’s funny is how nobody would have ever even thought Nicepool was a caricature of Baldoni until he made these claims. Baldoni: “THEY’RE MAKING FUN OF ME!!” Everyone: “Oh … huh, really?”
Blake Lively accused the director of sexual harrassment and threw the kitche nsink at him. His talent agency dropped him on the basis of her allegations before anything had been judged. So he's coming back at her, but wants all the records preserved from Disney to show that she was making fun of the situation, and didn't feel powerless or victimized by her harrasser as she claimed. I think he's more interested in the documentation that the new york times and disney have for his lawsuit against blakely.
According to the legal filings, the people Baldoni was dealing with at the PR firm were actually trying to poach clients and wreck the rep of the PR firm so they could start their own firm. Text messages in those filings imply it was those women who set out to smear Lively in the press - both to save Baldoni should Lively go public, and to destroy the PR firm. The only way we will truly know what happened on set is from the rest of the crew. Baldoni says they were all intimidated by Lively (and Ryan, and Taylor apparently), Lively says they were all uncomfortable with Baldoni. Looking only at magazine articles is a really bad way to report legal news like this. Look at the legal filings and get the 'full' story
Of course, his talent agency dropped him because they also represent Lively and Reynolds. Hopefully, there's no truth to it, but if there is, Reynolds and Lively will be paying this guy a lot of money for defamation. This won't sit well with Disney at all!!!
She listed legitimate complaints and provided subpoenaed documents from Sony Pictures Baldoni’s regular PR firm and crisis PR firm, subpoenaed texts extracted by court forensics extraction program from Baldoni & his associates phones and subpoenaed emails from same supporting her cause of action. Sony Pictures has publicly stated they are willing to testify in court, cast & crew have made social media posts & public statements supporting her. The book author has made a public statement supporting her. But sure your misogynist account is probably what happened… Even with a mountain of evidence and witnesses you won’t believe women and will trash them to filth yet you’ll still claim in the same breath we make false accusations because we somehow benefit from it? Pick a lane! Because you don’t get to have it both ways!

It's not even parody, it's Nicepool. Baldoni thinks he is more famous than he is; no one would make the connection. But now that Justin is suing EVERYONE WILL KNOW the connection. What a dumb move.
JB’s lawyer wants everyone to know, that’s one of the purposes of him telling everyone about it publicly in the news. You might be better off ignoring all this, it’s much deeper than you think it is
The allegations aren't purely for this though, it's that the guy had his movie hijacked by bullies. If this feeds into it then all the better for his case. I liked Ryan Reynolds but I also appreciate Hollywood is full of narcissists who don't appear to be who they seem.
Short of a written document that says, “Let’s make a character to explicitly mock the guy who harassed/💩-talked my wife”, I doubt this lawsuit goes anywhere.
"harassed" Blake is pulling a Jada Smith move, exaggerating BS and taking offense where she need not. Ryan is playing the Will Smith move, and being a dickish bully in an attempt to "defend" his wife. Blake has a long history of being a bully and drama queen. Ryan has a history of using the Deadpool character and productions to bully specific people he doesn't like. This behavior has been acknowledged by actors, directors, and crew members. There is more going on here then the fans want to see. Ryan and Blake are actually the ones in the wrong, and are acting like victims while mocking the guy they have been bullying over stuff he didn't actually do. This is what happens when you piss off a dramatic hypocritical narcissist, and her husband thinks he needs to defend her.
What's Baldoni hoping to find in The Marvel documents? Something flat out saying "play the character like Baldoni in a deadpool suit"? And, even if it did, that's not illegal.

It's circumstantial evidence. The alleged "parody" of Baldoni, if that indeed is what it was, would only be relevant, and identified by those who were in the know. The average (billions of people) moviegoers, myself included, did not connect what Nicepool said to Baldoni. So (IMHO), if he's going for defamation of character, it's hardly damaging his public, image, if the alleged "joke" is found liable.
I don’t think it was intended for audiences to actually KNOW it’s based on Baldoni. It was more between Ryan and Blake to mock Justin like an inside joke so only they knew who Nicepool is based on. It’s pretty obvious it’s based on him. If it wasn’t for all the false accusations and defamation that would severely hurt Baldoni’s reputation he might’ve let it pass but it’s a connection to their unprofessional behavior that can be used against them.
Marvel audiences have been trained for years to detect Easter eggs, you will be disappointed in the fact that there are so many in this film that point to his exact identity. You think RR doesn’t want you to know how clever he is?
The legal framework i think they are going for would be one of slander/libel/harassment. Slander & libel require that something untrue was said that caused an injury. Since Baldoni is a public figure, the higher level requirement of actual malice also applies. However, I believe this will fail because nobody knew anything about Nice Pool being satire of Baldoni. Therefore, there was no injury until he outed himself. The harassment part is a little more nebulous, but I believe it will ultimately fail on actual injury and 1st amendment grounds. You are allowed to mock someone publicly as long as you do not slander, libel, or threaten them. Again, because Baldoni is a public individual, he will have to reach a higher bar to prove harassment. This is going nowhere, in my opinion. It smacks of desperation and legal intimidation. I suspect his main lawsuit is failing, and he is searching for something to prop it up. Or that Renyolds and Lively will just get fed up and settle. I doubt that. I don't know about Lively, but Renyolds appears to be a very determined and headstrong individual. I would not be surprised if he fights it all the way on principal alone.
Nope. Think deeper, specifically about which Marvel Easter eggs about the parody are present and where in the film they are. Then consider the movie making process and how much time is devoted to writing and development. Consider who would be discussing it. You might get to where I’m pointing if you start there
@kks2360 Dude, if you have to be this cryptic in your response to make it sound reasonable, a jury is never going to buy it. Either point something out specifically or go away. The law is about facts and actual injury. Not innuendo and speculation. I am not saying they didn't sneak in a few jabs. Just that they don't rise to the level of slander/libel/harassment because there is no injury from them, if present. On top of that, as a public figure, Baldoni is going to have to meet a much higher legal bar that makes it much harder to prove. If you have examples, you need to justify them in the legal framework of being 1) false, 2) provably malicious, and 3) causing actual injury through reputational damage.
@ I am talking about actual legal strategy. But I am curious to see who actual figures it out. One or two people have good theories about the reasoning. But the biggest clue is the lawyer. He is not a frivolous man, he represents some of the most influential people in the country and he does not strike me as a person who wastes his time. But if you think you’re better at this than he is, I’m fine with taking your word for it.
@kks2360 i am not better. I just require specifics for an argument. All you have given is vague hints and innuendo. Unfortunately for you, the legal system also requires evidence to make a case. So, if you are going to make the argument that this is not frivolous, you need to provide examples. As far as the reputation of the lawyer goes, that is far from definitive. A lawyer will represent their client even if they don't agree with them because they are an advocate, not the one on trial. Given enough money, any lawyer would take on a case they personally believe to be unwinnable and/or frivolous. To meet their ethical obligations, they will advise their client as such, but continue to represent the client if the client decides to proceed. At best, a lawyer's reputation is a vague indicator of a case's potential and not something I would hang my hat on. Good lawyers catch bad cases and lose all the time. It is part of the job. Once they accept the retainer and begin the case, they are ethically obligated to see the case to the end, in most situations. The exception is if the client terminates their representation. So, this could have been a case with initial an initial plausible base that fell apart, and the lawyer is now stuck with. Again, your argument fails because you didn't provide any actionable examples. Please provide them in your next reply. Or at least state an actual theory that can be debated. Anything less at this point just indicates equal measures of arrogance and ignorance.
@ 😆😆😆 I mean, I appreciate you educating me, but you do know I’m not the actual lawyer, right? You seem to be a pretty smart guy, I’m sure you’ll get there eventually

They bully people on set, knowing nothing will happen because they are the star, they try to steal control of movies from the hired directors, and they gaslight people by pretending that they never bullied or mocked anyone. They actually play the victim, which is so insane. The fans appear to be allergic to reality on this one. These two have been dicks for decades. This Baldoni guy didn't do anything to deserve this.

@@GrizzlyX If the details have to be spelt out in that level of detail for the average viewer of the movie to catch, it is hard to claim it was any meaningful attack. Personally, I just thought it was a parody of a Nicolas Cage Deadpool.
Reynolds tried to buy the movie rights from Justin Baldoni. Justin declined. Then things went down hill from there. If there is a "morality clause" in the contract it means, if Justin has been convicted of improper/criminal behaviour, the book rights for the film automatically switch back to Colleen Hoover who begged Justin to cast Blake in the first place, then supported Blake with the fake sexual assault allegations. A film about Domestic Violence got undermined. Ryan changing the script, abusing the director, and getting him removed from his talent agency. Blake directing the director and demanding new wardrobe for her character of a book she did not read. What an insecure, unhinged psychopath Reynolds must be. Should be a criminal offense to try and destroy an innocent man's reputation, Justin Baldoni's entire career ruined. His film production company blackballed. Hoover, Swift, Reynolds, Lively and any cast or crew who sided with these cunning narcissists should be CANCELLED.

People online had already made the connection, that’s how his lawyer found out about it.
10:25pm in Louisiana but I’m awake
Blake Lively accused the director of sexual harrassment and threw the kitche nsink at him. His talent agency dropped him on the basis of her allegations before anything had been judged. So he's coming back at her, but wants all the records preserved from Disney to show that she was making fun of the situation, and didn't feel powerless or victimized by her harrasser as she claimed. I think he's more interested in the documentation that the new york times and disney have for his lawsuit against blakely.
He should sue his former talent agency. They are the ones who acted illogically.
That makes sense. I’d want to clear my name too.
But sure your misogynist account is probably what happened…

Not about the parody, it’s on a deeper level
Baldoni doesn't know "mocking" or "ridicule" or "intimidation" but he will 😂 the internet is crazy.
This dude needs to leave Deadpool alone! Idk if it's referring him. It's satire! Honestly I had no idea and would of probably never knew till this lawsuit!
😂😅 leave deadpool alone how old are you 5
@Arsus-gp6ih You must be a little slow! So I'll explain deeper if you can understand. Bringing the franchise into this could have repercussions in the future!
@@sinont7051 the man got accused of SH and SA, he’s fighting for his reputation and ability to continue his career. They are only going after him because he finally stood up to them and told them no.
I had no idea of who NicePool was supposed to be before the suits surround “It Ends With Us” broke. @Emily D Baker is an attorney who’s doing breakdowns of the many, many suits surrounding this situation…I highly suggest her breakdowns. Thanks for covering this!
Zack Peter does a much better breakdown because he actually has connections in entertainment and he consults with legal experts to make sure he understands the legal aspects.
Court will dismiss, even if his notes are left behind a year, with that guy's name, in the movie, never said his name.
Not about the parody
Great stuff michael!
I guess Reynolds verbally insulting Justin Baldoni in a passive aggression way is much better than slipping Chris Rock, this was Reynolds defending his wife to sue him over that one bit, seems childish, but that's Hollyweird.
Blake and Ryan have a history of bullying people over very petty things.
This guy doesn't deserve this crap, but somebody needs to start talking about this, if their bullying is EVER going to come to light.
Whenever others have spoken about the way these two act, they have been immediately slandered and/or blacklisted.
Ryan had a lot of power in Hollywood, and he uses it like a lovedrunk bullly.
Blake is Jada and Ryan is Will, for sure. Very good comparison.
I hope this blows up and Reynolds is innocent.
Ryan and Blake have a long history of bullying people and making exaggerated accusations.
Whenever anyone talks about it, they usually get blacklisted, publicly slandered, or the entire thing just gets swept under the rug.
Nothing with come of this, other than perhaps more of the public being aware that these two people are literally narcissistic bullies in real life.
Never meet your heroes.
How long ago did this movie get written and go into production?
2023 I think
Man’s lawyers sends letter to Disney execs.
Man is never heard from again.
By not saying Jason's name its still protected, legally he could be talking about anyone, doesn't matter how much it feels like Jason is being talked about he was not named
None of this is about the parody. This lawyer is on a different level
Astonishingly thrilled to see future Marvel content but agitated to have missed Xmen97 finale however excited to be able to catch Deadpool & Wolverine.
Hopefully Reynolds does lose so he stops making shitty movies
I doubt they'll be able to prove nice pools lines were directed at him. I think the headline is what he wanted.
Not about the parody, but part of the reason is in the Marvel Easter eggs
No, proving that is the easy part. "Gordon Reynolds" was listed in the credits.
Why would RR spend so much time and money making a parody of JB?
By the way, this lawyer is one of the best lawyers in LA and if you look him up, you will see he is not a frivolous man who wastes his time on BS like “parody”, which is protected free speech. This lawyer had a reputation for being effective in representing individuals against major corporations, there’s a reason why he’s going so hard against BL and RR.
Has someone put all the clips of Nicepool together end to end in a continuous run and then played the dance video footage JB’s lawyer just dropped before or after all in one video?
I think once someone does that, it will be much more obvious how RR based Nicepool on JB. The Nicepool characters simultaneously shows you what RR thinks of Justin’s appearance, Justin’s openness with his life, Justin’s generosity with people that he works with or shares his life with, and how RR perceived Justin’s interactions with his wife.
It also reveals RR’s jealousy of Justin’s looks and Justin’s kind personality that seems impervious to insult or negativity, which RR seems to find unrealistic and annoying, but only because it seems so effortless on JB’s part that RR literally cannot understand how JB seems to be just naturally that good of a person.
People will have to come to their own conclusions about why Deadpool treats Nicepool the way he does at the movie. Do the “100 bloody thirsty Deadpools”, represent the cast of IEWU? Is Ladypool the leader of the Deadpool Corp? Why is Nicepool never seen as a part of the Deadpool Corp, he’s always encountered in isolation with only Dogpool by his side? Does Dogpool actually represent the author, Colleen Hoover, and Deadpool is trying to get the ownership rights of the book and the author?
Is Ladypool aware that Nicepool does not regenerate, but all other Deadpool’s do? If so, is she purposely trying to kill Nicepool when she uses her Uzis to shoot while Deadpool uses Nicepool as a body shield? If not, then why do they stop the gunfire when Wolverine holds up the dog (if you say it’s just because the dog is cute, you might not be a hardcore student of MCU Easter eggs)?
And what do the solid gold pistoleros represent?
Thanks for the news
He’s also getting accused of SH from blake so he’s defending his image from that
Marvel audiences have been trained for years to detect Easter eggs, you will be disappointed in the fact that there are so many in this film that point to his exact identity. You think RR doesn’t want you to know how clever he is?
No matter how this plays out. It is certain that Deadpool did NOT like nicepool... Lol
THIS IS CRAZY!!!
_(said in the voice of Christopher Walken)_
I know way too much about this. Let’s be real. Allegations aside, I wouldn’t put it past Reynolds. Everything good gets ruined by bonehead moves fueled by overblown egos.
Ryan AND Blake both have a history of bullying people on set and making exaggerated claims. Fame has gone to their heads like the Rock, and they have been total a-holes behind the scenes.
This has been acknowledged by cast, crew, and directors.

@@nctpti2073 that’s true. Not surprised you didn’t address the rest of what I said. It does require actual work to do so
Reynolds tried to buy the movie rights from Justin Baldoni.
That’s actually a crazy iykyk situation between Ryan Reynolds and Justin baldonies parties ..that would have never been picked up on if it weren’t for the law suit
It was picked up before the lawsuit. That’s how his lawyer found out about it
this lawsuit will go nowhere.just someone tring to line their pockets.
So my question is does Sony get a pass on the debacle that this riff between Baldoni and lively began or are they also roped into this lawsuit too?
Roped in eventually, though I’m guessing they pressure RR to settle

If it’s obviously targeting Baldoni, then it’s parody and protected speech. If it’s not about him, then there is no standing to the suit. A competent lawyer would know this, so these suits are transparently just civil harassment (ie. Abusing the civil courts to harass someone).

I don't know who is right and who is wrong between Baldoni and Lively, but this just seems to be grasping at straws by Baldoni's attorneys.
You know if Ryan said in interviews that nicepool was a make a wish request from a kid instead of an original character I doubt it would’ve been sued.
Wouldn’t have mattered what he said it was, the clues, as always, are in the Marvel Easter eggs. Can’t unsee it once you see it.
