Not just Air quality we even lack in Civic Sense and public discipline, because it has become a habit for people to throw their any trash, or wrapper on the roads, without even having a second thought ! And also spitting tobacco literally anywhere they like, even in elevators!! Its such a shame as Indians that our Government has to launch Swacch Bharat Abhiyan program just to "educate" people about keeping their surroundings clean, but still people won't listen. It would take another 100 years for people to realise this unfortunately 😢 One of the main reasons why India will not be developed country even in next 100 years. Also the reason why majority of people who stay abroad don't return to India.

@@MCbros2023 many places too don't have a regulated trash cleaning system but people have enough civic sense not to repeat it.

There's difference between being educated and not knowing how to speak and be knowledgeable(like RaGa) and there's Modi who has a ton of Wisdom and knowledge from experience.
This incident highlights how ignorant of a community we are. No matter how educated a citizen might be, he/she thinks that it is completely fine to dispose of waste wherever, however in public spaces. Even if the Indian government implements strict actions against the careless disposal of waste, it is ultimately the responsibility of the citizens to make sure they are following them. Because of the ongoing ignorance of our citizens, news like these are being telecasted throughout the globe which brings nothing but disrepute to our nation.

AQI takes PM 2.5 molecules into to consideration. So yes burning of waste and dust particles in air can what increase the AQI. No wonder.

Do you know that pm2.5 contamination has been related to causing lung cancer.
And 120 aqi is not normal,it's unhealthy.our country made it normal.
“Well-ventilated” is what was causing the bad aqi in the room. Also ac doesn’t improve air quality.
Kolkata's air quality is worsening because of illegal constructions. Literally in my area, 2-3 buildings are getting constructed every 3 yrs and they are laying sands anywhere.
Moreover these AC outlets are also the reason for heat pockets in city. 8 years ago when we transferred, we really didn't need any AC during peak summer because of cold breeze. Now as many buildings are uprising, ppl are turning on AC day and night, leading to hot air coming from outlet, heating the environment. In 2024, we turned on AC even on July!!

Yes because our people would rather blame the government than take personal responsibility.
On the contrary, Europeans take responsibility at a personal level to keep their monuments, roads and natural ecosystem clean.
Europeans? The whole d@mn developed world. We've lost soft power and we're losing any relevance too. Idk who would think this country is "progressing"

For the past few weeks Mumbai and it's surrounding areas has been covered with such thick white smog. And it's not because of winter this is pollution.
From my office canteen I can clearly see buildings which are like 3-4 kms away and since these past few weeks the smog has become so worse i can't even see their outlines
I was surprised to see people defending India's condition on Instagram. Instead of arguing pointlessly, we should acknowledge that many of us lack basic awareness of how individuals can contribute to reducing pollution.. Engaging in online debates achieves nothing. they were like My grandfather smoked four cigarettes daily and still lived to be 100.... which is an absurd argument🤦♂🤦♂

Bryan's reaction may seem extreme to some inregions like South Asia where air pollution has become a normalized crisis. However, this normalization is exactly the problem. Ignoring these environmental issues is a slow but deadly path, with consequences not just for India but for neighboring countries like Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia, which contribute less to pollution but still suffer its impact. It's not just governments or corruption to blame-collectively, we need to break the cycle of inaction. Air pollution is a killer, and apathy may be an even greater one. The time for change is now

Center govt. still haven't talked about why "Most polluted cities in the world" has around 5-6 Indian cities, still. My friend who recently came from Germany said that Air quality in Himachal is bad. Only those who came from outside can notice these things. We have become addicted to bad air quality. Living in Delhi made me not to hate pollution even in small towns.
I always used to cough when I was younger and I unfortunately have kind of got used to it now. This is a serious problem and I agree with the guy. Our lifespan is getting shorter due to the air quality. I live in Maharashtra, where the air quality is already bad. But nobody does anything about it and acts like it is nothing to care about. I am surprised that people don't talk about the air quality at all where I live. It is like people have just accepted that it is bad and live on.

@@HoutPatetaof course it is a responsibility of govt but before that it is mainly because of us(I mean people)we are not much responsible for our environment
I was born and raised in India but moved to the US in my early 20s. At the risk of sounding pretentious, I'm going to say this. The air quality in India sucks, even in the rural areas. During a recent trip to India, I had a terrible experience with the overall quality being so poor that I fell sick for several days with respiratory issues. Every morning, there was trash getting burnt in the neighborhood with little regard to what was in it, which was mostly plastic. No one seemed to bother or care. This is when I say there is too much democracy in India where everyone is free to do whatever the heck they can with absolutely no consideration for fellow citizens.
I can relate. If you’re used to living in California, where the air quality is typically between 50 and 70, and then travel to a city where it’s over 100, the difference is immediately noticeable. When I visit India, I avoid traveling on a two-wheeler and always prefer a cab....not to show off, but because I’m so accustomed to the air quality in the U.S. that the sudden change feels overwhelming. The air is filled with dust, which makes breathing even more difficult.
Too much democracy? Lol why move to USA then should have chosen north korea?
Ye too much democracy nhi h,this is weak governance and lack of planning and vision

We live in Kashmir, and the AQI here is 114, which is quite bad considering the pristine image of this place. Feeling miserable after seeing how much Western people care about their quality of life.
Guys, we should take this as a wake-up call and work together to improve India. It's crucial that we all act more responsibly. While our large population may be a contributing factor, the real issue is that a significant majority-perhaps three-fourths-of our citizens lack awareness about proper waste management. If we focus on spreading awareness, we can drive meaningful change. Of course, change isn’t easy, but we must start somewhere. Let's take the first step and work towards improvement from the ground up. :)

@flyhighflyfast friend, unfortunately there's no political party talking about pollution. So changing government is not a solution.Unless the major of public talks about this and work on it, nothing will happen. We need to take responsibility for our actions too. It's on us.
It's a fact that the AQI is not good, but where is this guy from? And what will the Prime Minister do if he bans petrol and diesel vehicles or tells you to stop using AC? The next day, we will start blaming him.
India is the most populous country in the world. If someone wants to bring a country down, they can say or do whatever they want. That said, it is necessary to take steps to improve the AQI, but it will take time.

I wish Mr. Nikhil Kamath had raised this issue with our Honorable Prime Minister. The deteriorating air and food quality in India is a critical concern and should have been prioritized years ago. Now, the situation seems almost uncontrollable with diseases like cancer becoming alarmingly common. Do the politicians and people in power realize the severe decline in public health and hygiene over the past 6-7 years? Again - Bryan Johnson did not walk out, instead he prioritized his health more than the show. I would have done the same if I was in a room with even 1 person smoking.

Pollution should be seen as national emergency in india, but we are not going to take action we are waiting until things beacome as serious as Covid-19 in 2020
As an indian citizen, i also feels very terrible and horrific to be in USA due to -Prevailing GUN CULTURE, Violent crimes, Drug addictions, Racism, irrelevant climate policies, pollution due to Wildfires, e-waste, nuclear energy etc. They are the largest carbon emitter in world too.
A lesson to be learnt here is that it's high time to make sure "Air Pollution" is controlled now.
This can be looked as a stunt to improve the situation. Don't bombard the guy with "hate comments" on how "disrespectful" it is to leave a podcast.
Take the positives from it.
"Learn from everyone, even if it's what not to do" - Abe Lincoln.
Happy Friday :)
Everyone can just lecture to the undevelep and developing country .... They can be so classy and shamefully being too overreacted by pollution but never gonna read in deapth the cause of the is way behind his orgin and how his own country are responsible for this ...
It's not about the past it about present and future
In 2014 or 2018 on the list of top 10 most polluted cities in world China's cities were on top and there were less Indian cities
But now on that list there is none of china city
But 6out of 10 cities are of india😢
What are you siding with?
1. India - an underdeveloped country
2. India Superpower 2020
Well, only one is true.
Why r they all laughing? And why they shocked when he left? If u ppl normalized dirty water, poor air quality don't expect From others the same.after few years even cancer will be normalized in india.
Bro's gonna live long enough only to realize that he never really lived
A podcast sent a strong message, without even talking. Better than any podcast spanning hours.
we call him a wimp
People of India hasn't reached that mindset where they can de-throne Govt based on air, waste quality.
Plus. People comitting suicide due to lack of job opportunities, not because of air quality. India have to setup factories and industry to generate jobs for others.
Until, we can't reward people who are giving taxes, and giving birth to one kid, than there is no point of discussing air pollution.
Air quality is an issue, but life is about adaptation. If you stop adapting to the environment, the environment will get rid of you.
It takes thousands of years for physical body to adapt to any change in its environments but since the industrial revolution and technological revolution is bringing massive change rapidly we cannot expect our body to adapt to it. Its biologically impossible. We need to take external measures.
good point.
So how about you start drinking *polluted sewer water* and let us know how your body is adapting to it
So first we pollute the air and then give gyan about adapting to the problems we have created. Nice going!
Anytime in the future if you are in trouble don't fight for it just adapt to that problem and enjoy like a chill guy.
@@vishwas.choudharyy totally agree. We can work towards non-biological adaptation.
@@dasalekhya thanks. People in Singapore have adapted to drinking pee beverage, polluted sewer water would be harder but not impossible. I assume you are having a bad day. It’s okay.
Its high time we start questioning and making the politicians and beurocrats accountability for what they are doing to treat the nasty air and water contamination.
one thing he said we have no control over air quality is crucial as one individual can grow own food and filter water but air can't be controlled it have impact on all people of that area.
All thanks to our people representatives for making our India so deserving 😢
Atleast from now onwards we should seriously address this issue. People should have some civic senses.
Why did they invited Bryan Johnson as a guest when all the board members are related to stocks and business at the first place. They are not even related to science background in any way or the other.
The guest is right and concerned. Did he not know about it before joining the podcast or he just realised mid-way? Or the air quality index suddenly changed midway of the podcast?
The way Nikhil Kamath disowned Mumbai 😁😁0:32
Who is like me who has preferred villages and towns over cities and working from home. I am happy to walk around farms in the morning and breath fresh air.
After watching this interview I googled the aqi of my city and all major cities in India and was surprised to know that even smaller cities and towns have very high-moderately high aqi. India has got like less than a dozen cities with low aqi and it was a wakeup call for me atleast. I knew the situation was bas, but didn't know it was that bad.
Unfortunately, we have got used to such high AQIs that it doesn't even seen like a disaster to us, when clearly we are in the middle of a health calamity
Thats why i love Acharya Prashant and his teaching - Atmagyan hi Insaan ko uski infinte Desires se paar le ja skta hai ❤
Soon consumerism, capitalism , and our endless desires of more and more will destory this beautiful planet 😢
He's investing millions of dollars on his health and breathing in pollution is an Investment on Loss for him. He did the right thing. And So Did Nikhil by uploading this Video 👏👏
Our policy makers are still ignorant about deteriorating air quality and water
