    I’ve watched your videos for a while now. You have an easy demeanor and are a great mechanic. I’m currently waiting on my KST bars now for my Challenger, and with your instructions I believe I can tackle the job. Thank you for taking the time and effort to help guys out like myself!

      I'd go hand tight on the switch housing, stripped housing using 10inlbs. Very soft plastic, ordered a new RH front cover. Also weight in clutch side would not work allow me to clamp switch controls into peg hole. 1/8-3/16 off about the size of weight lip. Rolled bars back a touch for more comfortable reach, 3/16 gap on clamp verse 3/8, clears tank and feel great.

    Thanks for the great info! Saved me some time making a tool list and torque settings from your video. Swapped mine out yesterday. The only difference I did was to disconnect the fuel lines from underneath the tank and seat. Didn’t have to mess with the lines zipped under the tank. Electrical connection was a bit different also. 4 hours total in my driveway on the ground.

    Just received my bars. I have a tall torso but shorter arms and by seeing your install think I can adjust clamp pulling bars further back. Thank you, watching increased my confidence to a simple install.

    Many thanks for this video. Very well explained step by step and very well filmed. Unfortunately I have had a lot of problems with the KST. I just couldn't get it on the steering plate because of welding too thick and also the hole was not drilled in the right place on the clutch side. all in all and a lot of cursing I still mounted the KST on it. Very nice steering wheel, but what a bad finish. Greetings from the Netherlands.

      From what I just watched, I'd say no. I just put KST Pathfinders on my 2019 Road Glide Special, with heated grips...didn't have to take the fairing apart nor did I have to remove the tank.

    if you install the heated grips and connect to the unused white connectors, dont you still need to run a switch cable to its location to the fairing below the glove box? I hear that is a PITA.

    Just did mine yesterday after watching you video. Great job showing us how it’s done. I do have a question about the weight in the bars. I have the same exact ones you installed. Did you have to cut 1/8” out of the bars for the weight to fit properly. Went to put the grip and switch back on and it wouldn’t line up. I left the weight out for now. But would really like to have it back together 100%

    My local Indian dealer said they would install them but warns the bars have some rough edges that can't be smoothed out. And sooner or later it is going to cut one or more wires internally. Have you had any indication of this?

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  3 роки тому +3

      This would only happen while the installers were pulling the wires through the bars. If the installer does the proper job there is virtually no chance of this happening.

      @@jpcycles so my dealership tried installing them on a 21', and the tolerances were way out of spec to allow the clamps to fit around the bar and be bolted down properly. 3 mm difference from inside diameter of housing to outside diameter of bar. I'm not very happy with the response I got from KST so far...I also didn't notice any disclaimer that fabrication is necessary on these bars. Since you sell them, can you provide any insight on your end?
