    Im an iranian who grew up in turkey. visited Sinans mosques in Istanbul with their beautiful muqarnases just like literally 2 days ago. This video is unbelievable man thanks a lot

      My favorite Muqarnas are the ones found in Iran and Syria because they're massive and spatial, not just decorative.

    the first muqarnas dome volume was a bit funny in proportions because of the height, the second muqarnas dome volume was on point! As a side note, why at 36:00 instead of sweep, you don't add a third curve for the mid-spine that you ended up having rhino figure out with the sweep? is there a particular geometric reason?

      Hi! I could have made the first tier taller. It's all a matter of preference. If you look at the Jameh Mosque in Isfahan, the Muqarnas proportions are rather elongated. But in the mausoleum example I show in the video, the little portions are quite tall.
      The reason for the sweep is because I want to emphasize the almond shape between each leg of the star. You could absolutely add a spine if you want.
