Take a look at the unmarked MD90 on takeoff! N311EV (former Eva Air)
Welcome back to another Super SpotterATL Super 80 Full Flight video!
On this short flight from MSP-DTW, I got the best seat in the house right next to the awesome powerhouse of the MD80, the JT8D! It was so awesome to sit next to and look inside to see the fan blades behind those stationary plates. Those blades in front aren't N1. N1 are the primary first row of fan blades on an engine. Those stationary blades are used to held streamline the air moving into the engine as well as help catch the air easier. They can be found on all JT8D engine models as well as some other engines such as the TF39(C-5 A&B), and the D-30(TU-154M) engines. The reason you see the vortex created next to the window is from the air in-between the engine and the fuselage is being sucked out to where its creating a vacuum and all of the moisture in the air is freezing from the cold temperature its creating. Just some cool facts!
Overall the flight was very enjoyable! Even sitting next to the engine its not unbearably loud at all. The seat had a tray able installed into the right armrest seeing there was no seat in front of me due to the exit door being right in front of me, so the legroom was amazing haha! You all know my love for the maddog, and this guy did no disappoint. I highly recommend flying on these guys. They're reliable, comfortable, fun to fly on, and are some of the safest planes to fly on even up to today.
    Thanks For Watching!

Wow that transition from flying to taxiing was smooth as silk, not even a thump. That pilot has mad skills (also doesn't hurt that you landed on the longest runway metro has to offer)

It's interesting when you think about flying. You get on, walk the aisle, find your seat. Sitting there looking at a few dozen strangers you don't know, will never see again when you reach your destination and go about your life. When all the while thinking that if anything goes terribly wrong, these are the last people you will ever see on this earth. You will die with them. Such an intimate thing to have to share with others. That fear of dying with total strangers being your only comfort in what will be your last life experience.

The wing details look different than the regular MD-80's I'm talking about the bottom of the wing Is that something that was custom added by Delta? it looks cool

Derrick Francis Very observant! Yes Delta has a different color paint the put on their wings. Some of them look just like American's which are my favorite. The bare metal parts are all the same though on both aircraft.

Can't wait to work on of these babies. Just need to wait to turn 21 to become a delta flight attendant! Is this plane ok for someone like me who is 5'11" to work in?

Is there a reason why someone records their flight that they always gotta focus on the engine SO DAM MUCH???

just flew on a delta md-88 from bos to dtw the other day when my a319 flight was essentially canceled. this was my first time flying first class! what a waste of money. That flight was basically a greyhound bus with wings. no amenities at all and loud as hell. delta cannot scrap the mad dog soon enough.

MORON! it is not possible for first class accommodations on a wing-mounted engine airliner to be as quiet as any DC-9-80 variant. quit your bitchin', and lose the attitude!
