If you find using the pen tool confusing, using the lasso tool works the same! Plus, you do not need to go through all of the steps of selecting and things like that - it goes straight to the selection option once you're done drawing it in!

When I am cutting the face when I am selecting the face from paint tool it's selected but when I am making a new layer of face is not taking the face it's taking the full image

really good tutorial ! I'm doing a photomedia subject and this was super helpful. the folder with the flower pngs has been deleted but fortunately I managed to grab a few from the supplied photoshop file :)

After making the initial selection where you press ctrl x, it does nothing when I hit ctrl x

Very informative lesson, thank you. But I ran into one problem, maybe you can tell what I did wrong. At the moment when it was necessary to put a shadow on a piece of the face, which is separate, for some reason all the time the shadow that is on the part of the face was involved. That is, I couldn't do two different shadows on the face and on a separate piece of the face. They moved together all the time.
I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND IT IS DRIVING ME MAD

I have found the solution though. You need to un-check Use Global Light Settings when you are adjusting your shadow. It is a small box next to the angle of the shadow setting.
for some reason if i cut something out using ctrl x and paste it back in it always leaves a white line, it is seemless when ever tutorials do it but then when i do it it leaves the line.

Hey. I cant seem to understand the step at minute 3:42 . When you press control what else you press to get the selection of the void space ? Cant seem to be able to see what you mean by selecting model copy and pressing ctrl?

You can but make sure to save the path first nd then you can go back to modify it

How to not select any layers when im choosing the solid colour?
Just click anywhere outside of the document.
Can you do one with a skull replacing the flowers? Like "oops my face just fell off!"
