Hi Francis, Greetings from South Africa, Alan Pratt, Capetown. I have a Korg Havian 30 at the moment, being professional, I ŵish to purchase a Nautilus shortly, and thanks to your videos can't wait to obtain this magnificent ķeyboard. Thanks for your help and videos.
Thanks Narf! Brilliant tutorial! I was a bit intimidated by the combi creation process, but you did a great job of guiding us through it. Also, thank you for making it so easy to buy and install your 3rd party combis. I thought I was going to struggle with the process, but your instructions were perfect, and I love playing those amazing 80's rock sounds. Keep up the good work!
Hi Francis. Excellent tutorial. I'm still waiting for my Nautilus, (I bought one online a few days ago), but in the meantime I'm studying and learning a lot with this kind of videos. Thanks for your wonderful explanation. Greetings from Costa Rica.
I’m waiting for the arrival of my Nautilus so trying to learn as much as I can before it arrives this has been most helpful Francis, thank you so much!
I have Korg Krome. Often, between Kronos, Krome and now Nautilus, there's some similar functionality. However, Nautilus substantially simplifies layers and splits. I tried setting up a new combination in Krome the same way as you did with Nautilus in your tutorial. It looks so much easier in Nautilus, although there's likely still a huge learning curve. Thank you for an excellent tutorial.
Hi Narf.. Really enjoyed the video.. I just purchased a Nautilus 88 and this video helped tremendously!! I was a former OASYS and Kronos owner and was a little skeptical at buying another Korg workstation, (well of the Kronos nature, didn't like the board at all, so traded it in for a Krome due to weight and usability).. But am now digging into this board for live use with my other boards (Nord Electro 2 seventy three and Yamaha MODX7, I also have a Kawai MP7 for piano) but am hoping this is going to replace the MP7 and the Nord in my rig to get down to just the 2 boards.. Thank you so very much for this informative video and am going to look for more videos from you.. Also, I will be purchasing some of your sound packages, keep up the great work and thank you...........
Great job man! I've looked at a little but I'll check it out more later on. Couldn't make the live today because of some work. But it's cool that you did this.
Graduated from Korg Krome EX to the Nautilus AT. Quite a jump! But good news is a fairly easy transition in procedures. This is going to be quite an adventure in learning and mastering. Hopefully any videos you make will make the process smoother.
Wow, it’s going to take awhile to learn how to use the full potential. Super happy with my nautilus so far… It’s mind boggling what it can do… it was a big step for me as a guitar player and new to keyboards, but I wanted something that I can grow into and not be limited, seems it’s far more capable than I realized… Thank you for the great and more importantly, useful information….
Hello Francis. Thank you for making all these tutorials. Just received my new Nautilus 88 key on 08/08/23. I'm just beginning to scratch the surface. The tech has certainly changed since I sold my Korg O1/W Pro X & Roland D-20 in 2005. Your videos really help! I was able to write my first Combination "hassle free" thanks to your instructions. How do we purchase your cover sounds? Thanks again.
Excellent tutorial. If you could do one on the arp section as you mentioned that would be very helpful. I've not bought any extra sounds yet but also a short tutorial on how to load in a pack of new songs would be great. Nautilus is a great keyboard but steep learning curve.
What about doing a video on the 16 track audio recording and what are the options to connect a microphone or an interface without the use of a computer.
@10:55 "Alright! Maybe one more" @11:32 "Mabye a couple more. Lets try this one" Like a kid with a box of candy XD Really cool selection of "demo" sounds/songs btw! Im impressed by the powerful sounds from this thing :P
What happened to the Chord Pads that were on the Korg Kronos ? You use to be able to hook a Korg mini USB pad up to the Kronos and play chords with it Did Korg remove this feature from Natilus ?
Absolutely awesome demonstration of the Kronos and well played. Also your explanations were quite understandable. Thank you absolutely awesome Job. I have a Korg 73 key X-2 It is old however still quite usable. Does the drum machine in the nautilus do fills on command. And how many drum patterns are there. Does it do other genres like rock gospel heavy metal blues. ?? Thanks I hope you can answer these questions for me.
Please tell me how to assign Cutoff to the joystick? For example, in a combination I want one of the pads or several pads on the chorus to be opened using the joystick up, rather than the first Cutoff knob. Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know how to edit note lengths in Nautilus, I wish the Nautilus had a Piano Roll where we can edit notes in several ways: Length, key, velocity etc.
This is great, thank you so much! I'm an old customer of yours Francis. You've helped me a lot with my covers band. Today I had an issue though... and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what was going on. New combination, in bank C right from scratch: I add the sounds and they are all added with like a 'bouncy' effect, like a quick pitch bend back and forth thing that makes them sound really goofy and off. I checked and I wasn't adding any effects on mfx, tsx, ifx etc. so... where does that annoying effect come from? When I create a combination from quick layer I don't have that issue (quick layer and then adding new sounds to the combi they all add ok as they are on their own). I must be doing something wrong because this is right new from factory (Nautilus AT 61 keys).
I am considering selling my Kronos for the Nautilis and wondered if there’s anything you feel is left out or that you long for with the Nautilis including karma? And does the Arpaio options on the Nautilis satisfy for creative melodies for you? I’m hoping to be able to see around corners before I make a decision. Thank you
Hello Narf, there are some of these combis that i play currently with a couple of projects. Is there a way they can be sent to me so i can see if the guys like them better than what I've done so far? Thanks in advance for the response. Keith
can you create a song with scenes from scratch for us with intro.fills.endings also? also my nautilus doesnt sound as good as your online does.....do I need to EQ or mix in some way...?
Hi i am Dany from Mauritius, i have a question, in split mode, how to prevent the bass prog not being affected by the octave switch ( during live playing , i like to toggle between octaves for my piano sound. but the bass part ( left part ) too is affected.
HI THERE , PLEASE IF YOU CAN TELL ME HOW TO DISABLE THE SUSTAIN EFFECT OF THE HALF DAMPER PEDAL IN A PROGRAM ( PROGRAM MODE ) disabling or enabling that function in program mode does"nt disable the sustain on the particular program ...thaNk you very much in advance an your posts are REALY of great value ...WAITING FOR AN ANSWER IF AND WHEN IT IS POSSIBLE
In Combi mode, I can't seem to find how to add reverb to a specific layer. I saw the tone adjust, but it does not list Reverb. The dial does makes no difference if its on 0 or 127 (max) Also how do I delete a layer if I no longer want it to be in that combi?? Thanks!
I've created a simple split with strings on the upper and piano on the lower. Apparently the sustain is applied to the original program, in my case the string, but the program that's added as a split (piano) does not react to sustain pedal. I've tried starting with the piano and adding the strings as a split, and in that case the sustain is only applied to the piano. Can someone tell me how to add the sustain to the added program on the split. The sustain works on both patches (programs) in their original form but once they're combined, only the original program carries the sustain effect. Thanks!
Ok, I took the time to review the video, great tutorial BTW, and at 43:49, I recognized the Midi Filter page as the place to add the damper. I just couldn't figure out where to find it on the Nautilus (I used to have a Kronos). Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will be watching the video several times over.
I wondered if anyone can comment on issues with the Nautilus regarding the sounds cutting out from time to time for unknown reasons? I am looking to buy this instrument, but I don't know if this is a real issue or if there is a solution if it happens or if they are just isolated incidences Any input or knowledge would be much appreciated.
I wonder when Korg would put Luke Edward's combine with Narfsounds, now that would be wicked cool & a no taking all playing Korg demo with Master Class combined. Thank you! 🙂❤
Yes it is! The onscreen buttons can be accessed at the bottom of the setlist. You do however, lose sight of your comments and setlist slots when you do so.
Hi Francis, been following this video through slow time, replicating the processes on my Nautilus 73. At 38.35 you access IFX2, then press the "P" button, upper right on the screen to access an option of a number of presets. When I try this, the drop down menu shows a load of user banks. Am I missing a trick, or do you have to build the presets, and if so, how?
Scroll to the left and the presets should be there. Note that the newer effects introduced later on the Kronos do not have presets and will only yield User slots. These include the vintage effects category and a few others.
@@narfsounds Cheers Francis, went back into my saved Narfdemo combi and picked up where I left of. Thinking I am starting to get used the depth you can go with these systems
Hi my father just got a Korg Nautilus 80. Is there anyone out there willing to do a zoom/video call and help him with a few things on my Korg. Willing to pay for an hour lesson. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
excellent tutorial with one major flaw unfortunately: even though you magnified the viewscreen and put it on the top of the video, the writings are very fuzzy and difficult to read.
Yes since the Nautilus is just below the Kronos in the model line up, it doesn't have the number pad, sliders and as many tactile switches. It has the functionality of the Kronos with the control layout of the Krome. Except for KARMA2 feature, the Nautilus is just as capable as the Kronos far as functionality goes. I do enjoy playing the new sounds on it a lot.
@@narfsounds we can enjoy the sounds, but the missing of the buttons is a huge dawback for live players! Also the missing of transpose buttons (direct quick transpose, not with 2-3 fingers).
This video is exactly what I needed. Didn't find anything official that goes into this amount of depth. Thank you!
just what this 72 year old needed WOW Thank you

Thank you so much. This was definitly the best video to help me organize a combimation.
We need more videos as good as this one
Hey NARF! Thank you for this information. It was so helpful and answered alot of questions I had (especially the effects routing).
Thank you. You answered many questions. Especially regarding how to keep the effects from programs when placing them in combis.
Hi Francis. Excellent tutorial. I'm still waiting for my Nautilus, (I bought one online a few days ago), but in the meantime I'm studying and learning a lot with this kind of videos. Thanks for your wonderful explanation. Greetings from Costa Rica.
