DAKINE BAG IS UPDATED! big tough pads where wheel axles contact the bag. In my opinion it’s a clear best budget pick!! Got mine on sale for 340 and it fits my xl sentinel, check your wheelbase not all bags are up on the latest geo!!
I can confirm I have the camo outside / white inside bag and it's got the wheel axle protectors. I agree best bag to keep under 50lbs and it's one of the longest. I bought it used in 2023 for $300 from a guy who purchased it 2022/2023 from REI on a garage sale at 380$
The savage is a great piece of gear. It has always kept my bike perfectly safe. If you buy their helmet bag it clips right onto the back where the webbing is. Make for one less thing to hold while walking through the terminal!
Great review. I just used bike flights for a trip to Sedona, AZ from DC. I put the bike in a bike box, really protected the bike. But, some gorilla working at UPS drug the box on the ground for what looked like a few miles. There was a huge gap/opening/damage on the bottom edges and quite a bit of my kit was gone. Fortunately, bike flights took care of the issue and got me a refund for the lost items with ease.
We've been there before...a few times actually. BikeFlights definitely takes care of everyone quickly and efficiently. If only UPS would take care of packages from the start though, that would be much better.
looking for a new bike bag, in 2014 i got the evoc bag (i think they only had the one model at the time) and it wont fit my 29" mtb wheels. other than that, it has been great.
you mentioned bikeflights for affordable shipping...got a quote on their website for almost 3000$ from canada to australia round trip...am I missing something?
It seems that prices have jumped DRASTICALLY in the last year or two... Sadly they don't seem to be the bargain they once were. Although we're not sure anyone else is better.
Hi team, hope you can respond as I’m flying overseas in two weeks and need advice. The Evoc Bike Case, seeing it’s not hard do you feel it’s durable enough? And my main question is if it’s compatible for a Quick Release frame system? I noticed some have internal frames but Thru Axel
Not really sure, think the brand went through a restructuring at some point and alot of products got the axe. It's definitely are favorite in terms of protection and build quality, but it does have a severe weight penalty.
i guess if ur flying domestic or visiting the dumps that are liberia or myanmar, imperial makes sense. if youre flying to 99% of the world outside of those your imperial measurements are a pita to convert.
That's a douchebags. It's guaranteed to be well built. Btw the CEO is a red bull retired athlete and also does UA-cam videos. Anyways I love your videos. You definitely deserve more subscribers. A subscriber from Philippines 👌👌👌

Wait how do you know if the listing is the updated version or not? Sorry if that's a tough question to answer.
@@spacefacts2553 that I don't know but the inside of the one I just picked up was white instead of that silver and it had the extra pad for the axle

I like the free cardboard bike box found at your local of bike shop method. I don’t need the Louis Vuitton of bike bags. I’m recycling too.
He I had subscribed your newsletter after watching this👍
Thank you!

@@Studytimerr Thank you
Very nice guide thanks loam wolf
Glad you enjoyed!
So DB the savage worked best I assume? What about the orucase MTB case? It's more disassembly but packs smaller.
thanks fellas, this review was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!

So great!
So basically none of the bags except the dakine are light enough to get a mountajn bike under 50lbs as a checked bag and avoid the fee.
And the bike box
yeah, honestly the bikebox is just too good if money is 1 of your concerns
@@Coerced except you can't wheel a cardboard box around the airport..
thats an awesome review
Was it hard to close the zipper on the db and did you need to take the derailleur off?

You're welcome!
What did bike flights charge to ship?
$482 to ship thru bike flights round trip. Thats absurd. That was Ohio to AZ.

The axles it accepts should be universal but could be worth double checking on their site.
How would these bags fair with a fixed gear cycle.
Great as they've got less moving parts, are a lot thinner and have less dangling around.
AWESOME!!
Thanks!!
With most enduro / downhill bikes being around 16kg these days, most of these bags are just too heavy
Do you think a YT decoy would fit in one of these?
It should, unless it's an XL, that may be tight...
update: Db has discontinued all bike products per communication with their customer service.

Didn’t you pack the EVOC XL backwards?
