Thanks Kristian for the efforts you make to show us nature in extrem weather Making videos in such conditions must be tiring, but I'm sure you enjoyed it
The wind always concerns me in wooded areas. Ever see a tree branch stuck vertical, six inches deep in the soil. Think what it would do to a person. Great video.
Thank you Ronald. I absolutely agree. The trees which are natural to this area are small and rarely break in the wind. But planted trees, usually near towns and civilization are quite dangerous. I can't even imagine being a wooded area in a storm like this.
Awesome post, Kristian! I hope you are well, because you haven't posted in a long while. I thoroughly enjoy your YT channel. Great content, production and presentation. Cheers!
what a beautiful show of nature! and the best is that the day before u can have still waters almost like a lake and then all of a sudden it all changes. That s what i love about the North. u NEVER get bored :-) thank u Kristian for battling against the wind to show us how nature can be.
Haha, that is so true. During these transition periods like spring and autumn there really can be four seasons in one day. I remember last spring we had some hefty snow showers, and I got dressed in this same green Gore-Tex suit I'm wearing in this video, but when I got out the door the sun was shining and it was quite warm. So I went back inside to find a lighter outfit, and when I finally was ready to go and came out the door the weather was back to snow and wind. 😂
I was in Lofoten maybe a week ago and storm like this struck. Even though the rain and wind wasn't nice, it still was quite an extraordinary experience to enjoy.
Hi! Yes, it's quite a lot of energy in those gusts. And yes, the cod heads are dried for cooking. In Nigeria it's used in one of their national dishes. Since the fish heads are dried they don't need to be refrigerated. Recently the fishing industry here has looked into the possibility of using them to make protein powder.
I have been to Å one time, and I have to say, those cod heads smells....ALOT 🤣😵 Nice to see some handheld footage, not sure if I would rig my camera under these conditions my self 👏🏻 One of the things that fascinate me alot about Norway, is the weather. We have so much of it and always changing. Did you get any readings of how strong the wind was when you recorded this? I was working in the North Sea some years back. And windy conditions got a whole different meaning haha.
Haha! Yes, you can be glad that UA-cam doesn't have a smell feature yet. Since I was standing underneath the drying racks and it was raining, the cod heads were dripping onto my camera and clothes which I didn't notice before I got home. Now it smells like cod all over. I've even showered, blow-dried and combed my furry microphone cover in an attempt to get rid of it. 😂 And yeah, it's not ideal to leave the camera on a tripod in these winds. For the few shot of me at the end there I extended the tripod legs all the way, had the tripod sit flat on the ground and I put rocks on each leg. I don't have a wind instrument, but the weather report said 30 m/s and 40 m/s gusts in Svolvær. I think it was somewhat less in Svolvær, and somewhat more in a few narrow fjords were the wind was narrowed in. Probably nothing in comparison to the middle of the North Sea! 😂
@@KristianPletten Hahaha... have you seen Thomas and Harald when they taste different animal parts.... well, I do a pretty good Harald impression right now 🙈 There is one smell I can't stand. That old fish stank...djizes 🤣
At the end of the video, I wish I were in such place and weather conditions but inside a sleeping bag or a tent observing the raging sea and hit by the wind until getting asleep
That would be something! You'd certainly need a sturdy tent. 😄 I often wish houses were built to be more in touch with nature, so that one could hear the rain and feel the wind at night. That's probably what I enjoyed most about living onboard a sailboat. If it was windy you'd feel it.
That was great! What a wild and unfriendly day. You can almost feel the cold of the wind through the screen.
Thank you! 🙏🏻 It certainly makes you respect the weather. 😄
stormy days can have a certain cozyness to them... you really caught the atmosphere! very nice!
Absolutely. Thank you! 😊🙏🏻

I was there in 2011. It is still every bit as beautiful. What a wonderful country! Your videos are fantastic!
Thank you! 🙏🏻

Amazing 👏👏👏

Steike for et vær, er nesten en prestasjon å få filma når det er sånn!
Hello!
You can see the strength of the wind!
Seabirds also dived into jumped into the sea in
search of prey!
Safety priority 👍
Yeah, this was a strong one. Thank you for watching Madoka! 🙏🏻
Now it really looks like Kodiak!
Hi! The storm is terrifying, i didnt ever face such strong wind in my contry. And for what purpose this fish heads are dried? For cooking?

Flott film, nesten som jeg kjenner vinden og sjøluften
Takk, Helge!
