No matter where you live in the world, any kind of precipitation (rain in California, snow in Alberta) always precipitates the response "We needed it".
Bentonite clay may take care of that leak. It's often used in ponds.
Hogs work well too...in the pond. In the Ozarks... even bentonite did not seal our pond... and hogs... only worked while they resided in it.😳😔
lol I was going to say just that, to seal up the earthen dams we make we'd mix a few hundred pounds into a slurry then pump it in the water body while stirring it, then allow it to settle by diverting the flow till it settles out, seals it beautifully. then we'd put some sand over top to further protect it and seal it further.
I worked on a 3 acre pond build. Wondering if you put a partial pond liner up against the dam side (or suspect leaking area) and then top dress that area with clay?
the Gregorian calendar is a mathematical marvel and it took centuries of trial and error and recalculation to get us where we are, 28 day months and 13 month years would throw the seasons radically out as the years went by, which is the problem that the ancient Egyptians had for millenia and did not know how to fix it
Is that you Greg?
yes, my name is Greg, international man of mystery @@turbostatic1
The trouble is that 365 is not divisible by 7, so you're always going to need some way to account for the mismatch between weeks (or moons) and years. In the Chinese Lunar calendar, for example, they add a _leap month_ every three years.
well in new zealand the seasons are way out now days , but that more to do with cern than any thing else
People think it’s stupid because they don’t understand orbital mechanics and planetary movement
A Very interesting future project. The attempt was interesting . Water is key.
Very cool to watch this evolve! Glad you’re feeling better! The talk with Marjorie was so interesting
Awesome project!your holding capacity will for sure carry you further into the summer months.
Have you thought about filling the visible cracks with hydraulic cement in the summer? Ive ised it to fix leaking basement slabs with cracks and its worked every time...fairly cheap too
Hi Curtis, how much clay do you think you'll need and where do you plan to buy it from? Thank you !!!
On "CollinFurze channel he's digging a tunnel/ bunker under his house and front driveway, etc.. He showed some cracks 12ft underground, inbetween rocks, where he could stick a whole broom stick down in the crack and it just kept going.... and he held paper in front of the crack and showed how there's a breeze blowing into the tunnel from that crack... and that was down on the floor of the bunker/tunnel.. So who knows where it's actually coming from. When you have stacked rocks like that, the cracks can go on for thousands of yards underground and there's natural springs and underground aquafers, etc................. That's what I was saying before, if all else fails--- drain your top pond and you can line it with plastic like an oversized fish pond and it would be so much easier to manage after that. You can hide it pretty easy; stack some decretive rocks here and there to hold down the plastic or bury it into the bank, etc. Then you can add a layer of dirt or rocks over it and cultivate whatever bio/pond you want. Your own little fish bowl
Edit.. or just make it a lake apparently. :)
You might consider using a die to determine where the Leak is originating. It’s a fairly well known practice. Not sure how much it may cost. If you didn’t remove all organic material in the key way that could be the problem as well. Have really enjoyed your videos and congratulate you on the progress you’ ve made there.👍
It won't make in difference with 13 mth scenario. You would still have to add a day. It takes 364 days and a quarter. Hence the extra day every 4 years
I live in Norway, and have the solar panels at 90⁰ in the winter, the snow reflects, so during periods in the winter, the panels produce 110%
At the same time, I don't have to shovel snow from them.
Don't know if it works where you live, considering the terrain, angle of the sun, etc., but maybe you should consider trying it on one of the rigs.
Wow. You must have dry and fluffy snow.
Snow is beautiful! What are you doing with the shipping container? We have one with our stuff but one day (hopefully in the next year) will build a house and empty it. We want to build a dry cabin out of it so if that’s your plan, I’d love to hear….
Just storing stuff. Nothing fancy.
A 13 month 28-day 364 day calendar would not work, because the seasons and time of year would slowly get out of whack. It's my understanding that it takes 365 days and 6 hours for the earth to revolve around the sun, once, hence the need for a leap year every 4 years.
Good for you. You sound okay.
It'll be fun to see how this transpires!!!
In the Bible there are generally 12- 30 day months. Months are based on the cycle of the moon around North. and it's Journey from roughly above the Equator (Biblical New year begins in Spring in the month Nisan/ mid-March to mid-April) North to the tropic of Cancer and back South all the way to the tropic of Capricorn and back North to the equator, which it does 12 times for every One cycle of the Sun around North which follows the same path beginning in the month of Nisan over a 360 day period. However 7 times in every 19 years there is a 13th month Adar II, in the leap year which in Hebrew is referred to as a Shanah Me'uberet.
A 13 month calendar like the International Fixed Calendar is just more logical.
…uh, 13 months and 28 days wouldn’t solve the leap year problem. You’d still need one of those months to be 29 days long every 4 years (roughly).
That's right. I think in the old calendar, they equated to two days of rest before April, which is where the new year starts.
Exactly hence the whole April fools thing because you would be a fool to believe there calendar if you actually lived with the seasons of the earth you would know when it starts again April @@offgridcurtisstone
If you had intelligence..you'd know.... that the calendar was modified to HIDE PHOENIX PHENOMENON but that takes research and wisdom
The 13 months and 28 days 'International Fixed Calendar' (aka NWO calendar) works perfectly fine. Read the rules of the IFC.
Sound GOOD 👍
Its leaking out the back of the dam cuz of the tree roots
Glad you’re over the shedding from your Mexico trip. It’s real.
it will be leaking throw the tree roots , nothing larger than grass on a dam , and if those trees have gone down into lose rubbal type rock , every time the wind blows they will move stopping the ground from going soild
It's leaking through the fractured rocks. There's little to no pressure where the trees are.
Totally agree about the 13 month system, aligns the moon cycles as well. Plus the women would like it more for obvious reasons.
not that that will ultimately matter once you have added the clay. for pumping water uphill did you considered using a water hammer? it uses no power.
It uses the waters kinetic energy, bubble pump is another alternative if you don't have enough drop to build the required speed.
13 months of 28 days would make 364 days. How would you account for the one missing day (in normal years) and two on leap years?
look up International Fixed Calendar
The rules regarding the missing days are very simple in the International Fixed Calendar.

I just got back from Mexico and got the same thing.
A ton of people did.
Wanna hear a great song Curtis? Oh Had I A Golden Thread by Eva Cassidy. On this platform. Peace.
Seal it with pigs and clay?
Clay yes, pigs no. That makes no sense to get pigs up here in a context that makes no sense for me to have them do one job.
.. my only friend, the end.
4:20 ❤😂 360gallons per hour X hours pumped 12 run hours = 4320 Galons every 12 hours
Ah ,you probably got a mild case of A.I.D.S. You should start to feel better by the 1st of April. 😅
Study up on leap days. Your 13 months with 28 days each was a joke, right?
No. I think there's an extra day on the last Sunday of the year.
Got a Colombian nose infection 😉😎
No dude. Those days are long over for me.
@@offgridcurtisstone 😅 I feel ya. I'm just yankin your leg
😂
Lmao I’ve never heard that one before😂😂😂
@@offgridcurtisstone So that's why you got sick.. A little nose candy keeps the dr away.. :)
Unsubscribed. Followed you since urban farming. The urban farmer fled the urban. All your panic-making proved to be misguided. Nothing happened at least from my perspective. Sorry to say. Nothing against you personally. Loved your veggie talks.
Ok, best to you.
