I've never heard of Taylor Hicks until today. I watched all his performances. He's captivating. So original so organic and without any inhibition. He is comfortable in his own skin. Love him
I confess that at the time, I was into another contestant on the show who had my full support. I didn't "get" Taylor at the time and honestly, I didn't want to understand his appeal. However, looking back at his performances, it's clear how talented he is both vocally and in his performance style, and he was absolutely deserving of his win.

he is a performer, and while he is a great singer, he doesnt specialize in singing, but he is the whole package. I could watch him perform any of the songs on his album and id love it 20 times more.
I get to hear Taylor sing about 20 times a week. He sings the Feinbaum (SEC College Football show) theme. They play it at the top of every hour. He wrote the song and it's very clever.
I wonder if all of the Taylor Hicks American Idol uploads here on YT were recorded with a russet or red potato? At any rate, he's super talented and I enjoy his voice. Thanks for posting them.
Mr Stewart is right to disagree with Simon. l think he said don't care what Simon says...ha ha and Tori Kelly also had the last laugh. Simon said Taylor would not make it in the finals and Tori could not sing. ha ha Taylor won and Tori did excellent on her own.
dam. i like how the part where he sang in front of rod better and the ending of his performance is what the difference of skill between him and disney/nick "singers"
I like it whenever he sings soemthing and try to make it his own, and most of the time it even comes out better than the original...I like his ending here...I thought it was boring at first but his ending became magical...
Daughtry has had the most success out of all the finalist from that season. Katherine McPhee is still relevant with her role on Scorpion. Taylor Hicks has pretty much become a club act.
+note2owns That's BS, since Taylor Hicks made more money than Daughtry AND Kat McPhee AND Kellie Pickler AND everyone else from Season 5 according to Forbes highest Idol earner list of 2013 and 2014. He's a Vegas headliner, top concert draw and a Broadway alum and has a new crispy album coming out this year. Daughtry is irrelevant now.
how she made it past the final 4 I will never understand. She forgot the lyrics to one of elvis's songs and still somehow outlasted Chris in the voting.

there were so many good talents in this season, it was definitely the best and Taylor sure rocked it out. total respect for the guy.

Agreed. He didn’t fit into that cookie cutter pop star image the show was all about, but he was one of the most unique performers ever on the show.
The best season. Taylor just made it fun. Simon hating him made it even more fun.
