For me, Taylor's singing voice resembles Eric Clapton's the most. Listen to Clapton's song "Forever Man" and Taylor's cover of it. Other people clearly heard the resemblance, as well. Since Taylor covered Clapton and had two of Clapton's band members play on his "The Distance" album. I really wish that Taylor had sung "Forever Man" on Idol.

I confess that at the time, I was into another contestant on the show who had my full support. I didn't "get" Taylor at the time and honestly, I didn't want to understand his appeal. However, looking back at his performances, it's clear how talented he is both vocally and in his performance style, and he was absolutely deserving of his win.

So David Foster, the man who can't decide who he's in love with from day to day, thinks Taylor has more charisma than anyone on Idol while he's busy "networking" with a contestant. There's an endless charisma pouring outta that boy. Sing, dance, charisma and serious chops. I think of Taylor with tremendous joy and the best of memories. And he's sexy; it helps.

I don't want to objectify him, but Simon is the only one who doesn't understand that more than half of America has got Taylor on their minds when they turn out the lights. He's obviously charismatic and talented, but Taylor IS a sexy man… some are, some aren't. He is!
