Damn, even Mike's part in the bridge sounds much more sweet and intimate. It seems like overall, the production wasn't refined as it was for the true stereo mix, but if it was, then you probably have the best version of the song here. I agree what the small change in order of the intro lyrics are also much more poignant.
@@marcmarcello981 Brian’s vocal here definitely isn’t better than the album version, though, and the lyric differences are not as good. Mike’s performance here in the bridge is definitely better
Y'all are crazy... these vocals are so inferior. Really makes you appreciate how much of the greatness of this music was in the take (and feel better when your singalongs/ recreations are so crumby!)

You really hear Dennis "cup" singing that Brian has talked about in the bah bah bah bah bah parts.
Isn’t it Brian singing the bah bah bah on the final mix?
@@JonasEurich I believe the released version it is Brian. One several mixes though you can really hear Dennis to my ears
@@richardcerbini3257ok, makes sense!
im so happy this exists
A rip-roaring opening track for one of the greatest pop/rock albums of all time!
WHY didn't Mike Love sing this well all the time ?????????------------------Well done.
Because it’s Brian singing lead
Thanks for posting this
I have this version one a compilation disc i got recently
This scares me
why, cuz it’s so good? or cuz it’s different from the version that we’re used to
I like that everyone is so into this but it is not superior to the version they committed to wax.
Hindsight has a lot to do with this, If this was the released version that everyone is used to then the released version may sound tame in comparison.

Brian’s vocal lags a little bit, is there a latency issue, or is this how it was recorded?
definitely latency. its the same take as the alternate mono mix but that one is timed right

This is the better version lyrically because the intro
vocal is timed wrong
