the 12 nights wasn't a big deal we were 3 days sail, 6 ports, 3 days sail back - so I would be more selective of my itinerary in future. In reality - it was great.
Seems like your issues are not specific to NCL. Those problems could and do happen with all cruise lines. There definitely is a sense of cost savings across the board post pandemic in terms of offerings, service and staff, and again this is not just NCL. The demographic issue can be experienced due to the time of year you're sailing. I'm in your age group, but personally don't mind an older crowd. Norwegian is not Carnival, and I'm glad for that. If you're looking for that rowdy (Walmart) bunch, maybe NCL isn't for you.
I agree, and that is why I don't think I will have a problem going for another NCL cruise. I am not looking for a Walmart crowd, but the traffic jams of mobility scooters, not to mention inconsiderate - would pull into an elevator, and block the entrance for anyone else, eating their plate of food at the buffet with scooter blocking everyone from getting some food while they finished a plate to grab seconds etc, might be more the NCL demographic - but I don't know as this was my first NCL cruise.
Yes, He have also cruised Carnival before (pre-pandemic), and it was younger. I have heard that right now the post pandemic cruise demographic is a little older.
its titled pet peeves - what did you expect? sunshine and lollipops.... I did explain why I thought these happened. I am going out again next month on a 10 night NCL cruise - so we will see what happens.
Yeah, it’s sucks when they change the itinerary on you 😡. Yep, the cruise I went on, turned out to be a geriatrics cruise. Sounds like they were logistically challenged.
I won't say that too much - but the mobility scooters were a bit much. They should consider limited those that need assistance in case of emergency. There were so many that needed assistance to help themselves, that in case of emergency, staff would be overwhelmed (IMO)
Wow ! 12 night cruise would be fun ! We are planning something similar in the future.

Did you try other cruise lines ? I heard Carnaval and Princess have a younger demographic.
I was wondering the same thing Rob. Glen has been trying to convince me for last 5 years to go on one. I’ve heard decent reviews for Virgin, no kids.

geriatrics and logistically challenged - nice way of putting it.
Did they have CNN on their TV’s ?
they did not
The older demographic definitely sucks !
