I love this painting, just love it. I am just going to begin watercolor journey. I know nothing of this work. I am learning from you. I'm so very impressed. I love this painting without the gold so so much. But then the gold makes it look rich, like some wild Saudi Arabian prince wanted it for his princess. Your work makes me happy and right now I need this due to many familial issues. Thank your allowing us to learn from you.

The pregold painting was very appealing to me. In this case, the gold became the most notable feature. Instead of being an accent, it felt like the main point. The leaves faded into the background and became secondary. Still, as always, your tutorials and masterpieces are just fabulous. Keep up the great work. It doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks, as long as it makes you happy.

I liked both paintings CeeCee but the gold lifted it to another level. I've always liked cloisonné but that often flattens out a painting. Yours had a lovely 3D quality with the texture in the leaves and that dark background with "stars" to help the leaves pop out. Magical!

That's the thing with the creative process. You just don't know where it will end. I liked the way the leaves came to life once the background colour was placed. The colours seemed to pop out.
It looked soft and natural with no gold outlines added....
Adding the gold, brought the painting into another realm. Making the painting modern and focused somehow. It emphasised each individual leaf in a halo. Adding the little white dots, made the leaves look like they were sat under a starlit sky and just added to the magic of the painting. X
Do I prefer one over the other?
It doesn't really matter, it's guilded now and that's how it will remain. Unless you decide to do another 😊x

Cece, this painting shouted gold. It is the perfect definition of the finishing touch. The background looks like a starry midnight sky. The colors remind me of intense desert foliage and flowers.
This painting would translate to a great designer decorator fabric!
Thank you, Cee Cee, for all you do to share your gifts with us.👍😊🌻🎨

I like both versions as well, the gold does remind me of stained glass too. Both are beautiful

I love your work. Every time I watch one of your videos you make me believe I can do this too. Thank you. I never get tired of gold!

Thank you so much for you incredible videos and tips. I love your colour choices, and (as a keen but still novice watercolourist), I get so much from your encouraging tuition, and your uplifting comments. I have a set of these pencils, and look forward to using them more. With the gold is like copper-foiling, and I like both with and without it, and with and without the blue background. 👍🏻

I love both versions of this. It would be so difficult to choose which one I prefer. I can see this being a set of three. One in the gold, one in silver and one plain.

I like it without the gold but LOVE it with the gold. One of the many reasons I love watching your videos is that you know how to take a painting beyond. . . . I am a beginner and where I might stop, you continue. You make me stop and consider (a good thing). Sometimes your additional step(s) might seem minimal in terms of the Number of brushstrokes but they make a major impact. Thank you for your skill and inspiration. Separate note: When you can spare the time, would you address using white watercolor paint--the how's and why's, any tricks? (During this difficult time, cut off from almost all in-person interaction, hearing your comments and chuckles is such a lifeline. I am 75, living alone, rarely seeing my family, but you are there, talking to us/me and it helps--a lot. It must take you more time and, of course, precious energy, to give us directions and insight but it is so valuable for many reasons. Please continue.) You are a bright light.
