    Say hi to Chaotic Colin, he is just unhinged around Penelope. Once he made that choice to go all in, he's fully invested. He would never court her because he wants to marry her lol

      When I was a kid I hated my training wheels so much I pretty much just skipped right from my tricycle to a two-wheeler and would rather fall the hell off than wobble around with those trash little wheels bolted on the back. Just took a dose of over-confidence and leaned into the pedals! Colin's the same with intimacy--he can't do shallow. He was born ready to have a wifey (he just got misdirected to Marina at first.)

    Courting is basically to get to know someone, Colin already knows Pen. She's his best friend, so the way he now wants to know her...lol....has to be marriage. And they did do stuff on that carriage.

    Okay, so Colin didn’t realise he loved her just because he wasn’t interested in the brothel. He was already aware of how he felt by then and he wasn’t only offering her a good time in the carriage. He has just got on his knees and declared his love and she’d reciprocated. We know Colin wouldn’t ruin a lady. Look at marina. The moment he knows she loves him, that’s it, he knows she’s his future wife.

  • @Pfruit0916
    @Pfruit0916 21 день тому +12

    I feel like the conversation Colin had with his mom in episode 3 made it clear he knew he had feeling for Pen. The issue was that he was afraid to find out if it was reciprocated. That’s why violent talks about “working up the nerve to ask.”
    unlike Anthony/simon/benedict we saw that Colin doesn’t have an issue with marriage when he proposed to marina. Pen is his best friend. He never would’ve touched her if he didn’t plan to marry her.
    The whole point of the scene at the brothel and the one with his guys friends was that when he said sleeping around was lonely, is that he felt more in that single kiss with Pen than he did sleeping with all those other women. What she brought out of him made him sure she was the one.
    Colin is very wealthy in his own right. His father and Anthony made sure he has an inheritance.
    The drama is definitely whistledown. Eloise knows and Colin doesn’t. I’m sure she won’t be happy about the engagement when this big secret is between them. So Colin needs to find out and if anyone else like Cressida (because she is now bff with Eloise) learns Pens big secret it’ll be a disaster.

    • @itsonlysound
      @itsonlysound 6 днів тому

      I thought it was made clear he knew how he felt before that too - the conversation under the weeping willow was awkward precisely because he was well aware of what he was feeling. And the conversation with his mother seemed more about him figuring out how to broach the topic with Pen, or even if she should.

  • @teresaluz975
    @teresaluz975 21 день тому +9

    Colin would never touch her like that if he didn't intend to marry her in the first place. I think when he kissed her he was already calling Penelope his wife in his head. They know each other since they were kids, they've had many conversations, many dances, now it's time to get to the next level: marriage. Polin is my favorite Bridgerton couple, both in the show and the books.

    "How long is this carriage ride?" Not long enough.
    I get that Debling doesn't want to marry a woman who is in love with another man, but I can't help but feel like he hasn't thought things through. Hypothetically, if he found a woman who was completely romantically unattached to anyone, and who could find joy in being Lady Debling alone in his house while he's off on his adventures, there are absolutely no guarantees that she wouldn't have an affair, either with someone she fell in love with, or just because she's bored and lonely. He needs to find someone who would want to go with him on his adventures. Otherwise, he's just looking for a steward to look after his holdings while he's gone. I feel like Cressida would hypothetically be happy for like a year or two before she would begin to resent that she doesn't have her husband by her side. Then the nastier side of her character would come out and she might have an affair just to spite him.

    • @kellyvalence5323
      @kellyvalence5323 22 дні тому +1

      The trip he is going on is extremely dangerous. So I think he’s looking because he wants an heir (but it seems like the trip is soon by his words & his rush to propose)…. So he might not have even left enough time to do that.

    • @MeyaRoseGirl
      @MeyaRoseGirl 21 день тому +1

      @@kellyvalence5323 In that case, who cares if she has an affair? He just needs to get her pregnant before he leaves, and then he can run off and possibly die and she can do what she wants while being the heir's mama.
      But I've been thinking about this a lot, and I've watched season 3 part 1 several times now, and I've realized that Debling actually approached Pen BEFORE her charm lessons from Colin. And he kept approaching her, not the other way around. She didn't realize his regard, which is why she didn't get all awkward until she she decided to chase him at the same time Cressida did. I think Debling genuinely likes Pen. And when he realized the connection between Colin and Pen, he broke the courtship off, giving a practical reason, but I think the reality is that he was at least a little bit hurt by the fact that Pen clearly preferred a man that didn't even know his own heart to a man that had made his intentions fairly clear from the beginning.
      It goes with the themes of the rest of the show that Debling was trying to approach a match in all practicality, as if if that would prevent him from getting hurt. But he was still hurt when he realized his practical match was in love with another man.

    • @kellyvalence5323
      @kellyvalence5323 21 день тому

      @@MeyaRoseGirl I agree, Deblin is attracted to Penelope, he probably didn’t even know how she looked in prior seasons. Colin just helped boost her confidence. I think Deblin is probably not being honest with himself, he has some feelings for her & it would probably grow (though he doesn’t seem to want it to). The concern about infidelity is real though. Even in the best case scenario (he gets her pregnant with a boy), if Colin is hanging around all the time once he’s gone, people would doubt the parentage.

    The carriage scene is from the books.
    You can not do this to a Lady without asking for her hand. Otherwise she would be riuned.
    Colin is a Gentleman and he is already in love with her, so he asked her.
    In the book it's slightly different how all the "touching" began.
    I hate that didn't not know she is Lady Whistledown here. In the show it will be a very bad situation when he finds out. Maybe I will watch straight episode 8, just to be sure everything is okay 🙈
    I wished we would've seen more scenes between Colin and Penelope. In the book, they talked a lot about everything and they speak about her feelings or we can read their thoughts.
    In the show we got nothing. The proposal seemed rather quick....
    He kissed her, looked at her longingly and straight up he proposed... not really enough interaction/talks between them.
    I really hope the writers know what they are doing.
    The actors did a great job. Loved the carriage scene and all the scenes so far.... you can feel the spark.... just wished we had seen more of the two in general.
