Thank you for showing everything that comes with buying the Vive!I’m going to pick up a secondhand one and I want to make sure that I was getting everything thank you very much!
This is the video I watched to first help me set up my Vive back in March. Paddle Up plays the same song when you start it up. Brought back some memories.
Great set up vid. Thanks for posting all these Vive videos. Mine is pre-ordered so it's fun seeing all these games and stuff until I get mine gets here. I'm also a Lynch so who knows, we're probably related. ha ha. I guess nerdiness runs in our blood.
+ayy caramba Yeah, I thought about that, but the actually setup for the consumer version will not be any different from the setup of the Pre. So I thought I would just write Vive.
A fantastic video Bradley. I was gonna try the 3m sticky double sided command strips, but it seems you've tried that without any luck. What did you end up using to mount your lighthouses?
+Brad Lynch Just an FYI, this discussion about adhesive tape came up on /r/vive. That adhesive tape may be 30 pounds for the whole role. Assuming there was 3 meters of tape, that's 10 pounds per meter or 1 pound per 100 centimeters. That's not nearly strong enough to hold up the lighthouse which is why you may have had issues. It's pretty weird advertisement for the tape, but you need to consider how much the adhesive tape holds up per how every much you are using to hold up the lighthouse.
just got the htc vive just have a problem. My graphics card only has one hdmi input so if I were to connect my headset to my graphics card, my monitor wouldn't show up on screen. Do I have to buy an hdmi splitter or is there another solution? Thanks.
TehObLiVioUs nothing against you, but in the time it took to watch this video, I already had the whole thing pretty much put together. But some porno tracks would make it sound better.

hi, can you please help me with the 108 problem fix, its the steamvr not finding my headset, im courrently playing with only one camera, but last time i tried it worked, but now i can't play anymore because of this. please help me fix this.
I know this is a stupid question but can you use fullbody with this version of the vive? By the way I know nothing about vives because I am a quest user, once again if I sound stupid im sorry.
i encountered a problem; i have 2 hdmi cables, 1 used for main monitor and 2nd for the vr. Now when i try to view something on my VR its shower the extended 2nd screen, how do fix it so that VR is viewing the first monitor?
So what interfaces directly with the pc? Just 1 usb 3.0 and an HDMI cable? Also...does having duel monitors plus the vive hooked up to one gpu effect performance?
With the two lighthouses i need to setup, I have some high level shelves. Can I just put them on the shelf without screwing them in (The property is rented so i can't drill holes). One of the shelves is spot on at the corner of my playing field, the other one where I would put the other lighthouse is at the other opposite corner BUT it is about 2 metres away from the corner (so it is 2 metres away from the playing area near the corner). But it can see the other lighthouse. Would this be a problem for the vive as it's not exactly 100% at the opposite corner?
Thanks for the video. I've got one on pre-order for April. Have been looking to see how it's all set up and your video and explanation is really clear and easy to understand. Thanks.
Thanks for this video. But i have a question. We have seen you measuring the aviable movement area by using the contolers. Is this the area most the games will keep you in ? I mean , will the border be displayed in your hud while running around blind ? Or what is this necessary for ?
I have a question. Is it possible to connect a vr headset to a pc or laptop? I don’t have a full on computer and the vr headset is already expensive enough, I don’t want to buy a whole computer and I won’t even use it other than for vr.
Brad, I've pre-ordered an HTC Vive, and I have been thinking of making may own content on UA-cam, based on the HTC Vive, Novations Launchpad performances, and maybe a bit of gaming.Just hypothetically, what would you recommend I do if I wanted to get into UA-cam?
+Norm Nord Just go for it man! Trial and error is the best way to learn how to make videos that people want to watch. It took me a few years to figure it out myself. But I never gave up. And it's finally paying off.
How long are the Cables coming from your Computer to the Link box? I was wanting run the cables through the wall and have the link box in the the other room.
Hey man! Great guide! I'm having an issue where the camera is stuck underneath the floor. Any ideas how to fix? I've tried to re-calibrate but that didn't fix it.
I’m getting a vive on my bday and I’m just seeing how to set it up because I have a gaming laptop and it is very supported but I wanna see if it is with vive cause I have barely any ports
Hey, I can't figure out the display settings. All I see is the home, and shaperone. When I try to load a game I see grey. Of if I switch my display screens I got a game to work once on direct mode but then I can't see my desktop??? Confusing. Any advice?

Hi, Brad Lynch Thanks for uploading this instructional video, was very informative. My biggest question when setting up for seated VR experience, where would you position your "VR tracking boxes" would it sit on your desktop (Similar to Oculus)? Thank you.
+llMurcielagoll You still put them up on a wall as if you were doing room scale. It will still track you so long as you are doing seated vr in the same room.
christianled59 Hmm thank you for the info. It is easier that way, a one-time Base station set up and whenever I want to do Room scale I just reconfigure it through Steam VR.
christianled59 Hmm fair enough, I didn't order one yet because it is not due for release in my region. Tried a demo of a Vive Pre recently and I am definitely sold for it. Hope you enjoy it in June! :D
Is there any difference if you plug your headphones into the Vive or your computer? Like, does it still play audio from the right direction even if it's connected to your computer and not the Vive? (I got a wireless headset with no 3,5mm cord so I'm wondering if I need to find myself a "Vive headset")
+Felix Hindemo Yeah from what I have played thus far, it works just like the headphone port on your computer. No worries there. Also if you need a USB headset, the vive has another usb port. Just slide off the front cover and boom there ya go.

Hey. Nice video! :) I have one problem. We used to have HTC Vive in our living room for like 3 weeks and everythin was OK. But now we moved it to separated flat and after like 10 minutes of playing it start blinking grey more and more and I have to restart everything, replug USB and stuff... I tried like everything. Have you experienced something like this? Thanks for the tips
What you are missing is the point that VR works for every gpu, cpu and ram. Specs are just selling points for dumb consumers that don't know any better.
+Papo Papo I have my lighthouses on two portable tripod stands with custom mounts I made. They don't need to be crazy high. I think a good guide rule is just enough for you to be able to reach them if you stand up.

+Invisible Man I have a 1.2 meter short cable that came with the special edition 598. It is sennheiser branded, but it's still too long. If you can find a really short on, just get it. It will make your experience better.

Bad hmdi port on your PC. Try hooking up a monitor to that port to check if it works. Try to reinstall all steamvr and vive software. Try to do a hard reset of the HMD. Try to use a mini DP-to-hmdi2.0 connection from the linkbox to PC instead.

I just found out my gaming pc doesn’t have Bluetooth, it was my birthday yesterday and I didn’t even get to use my Vive :( it did have Bluetooth on it as I connected headphones to it but I tried to do the same with my Vive and the Bluetooth switch was gone and there is no sign of Bluetooth so I have to get a adapter but I don’t know if it will work with the controllers and stuff. Help anyone?

I just found out my gaming pc doesn’t have Bluetooth, it was my birthday yesterday and I didn’t even get to use my Vive :( it did have Bluetooth on it as I connected headphones to it but I tried to do the same with my Vive and the Bluetooth switch was gone and there is no sign of Bluetooth so I have to get a adapter but I don’t know if it will work with the controllers and stuff. Help anyone?
My Controllers are 2 Meters below the floor. What can I ado? Thank you 🙏
I am not sure if it comes with full body or you need the trackers?
What did you put the Lighthouses on? Or did the Vive package come with it?
There are litte wall mounts that come with the HTC Vive
1. Grab lighthouses
2. Attach to head
3. Enjoy vr
