You know Andy after watching your channel for almost 2yrs now I forget that your a dairy farmer lol You have made the comment that animal activists would give you a hard way to go . Most of them have twisted views and corrupt ideas . Those cows live good lives ! Tks for sharing Andy
@@vhehn they are treated with great care, and are often harvested as veal, but can be raised to higher weight and harvested as "rose" veal, or even go into the "finished" beef market.
Enjoy your comment on the bull Cavs and you are correct. They are more than a byproduct they are a cash crop on a dairy. I used to raise Holstein bull calves here they made good beef.@@MorganOtt-ne1qj
@@Jon-zr6fl my question is who owns the parlor?? The milk company or the farmer?? That doesn’t pass the smell test. Who cares if you see a cow being milked?? Questionable behavior there.
If his buyer says he should refrain from milking videos, it's in his best interest to do so. Kinda like a "Non Disclosure Agreement". Yes, I would like to see his parlor, even if it's just a walk through when it's being washed down. But I understand the reason behind it, given the Anti Animal Ag groups out there. If someone like Alexandria Occasionally Coherent hears what sounds like a 🐂🌬️, there may be backlash. Not worth it to do.
Hi Andy ! i love the feeding , you are a very big daddy whit all those ladies to please every morning. Thanks Andy for your time and have a good day at the farm ! 🙋♂️
Thanks for keeping the cameras rolling. I really enjoy how if sumpting breaks you got a plan for that! The pump tractor started up pretty good considering it was 7 F. I'll bet they like the feed but say " Man close that door!" It would be a good follow up to see what is actually wrong with the original. Regen my foot. Saving the World one dollar at a time.
Always enjoy the videos, and enjoy seeeint the cows. I grew up working on dairy farms in Minnesota, they were small farms. Its amazing what your farm does.
Now I know why I ran away from the farm and became a mechanical engineer. 8 hour days fit my schedule better. When I was a kid we’d get out of the barn at 8:30 - 9:00 pm. I did go to the barn in the morning unless it was a weekend.
that tractor with the 50 series tires is a good auger cart tractor the farm i worked at the tractor i had to use on the auger cart had 50 series tires on it and made looking over them tall trailers easy
Thanks again for the content Andy. I enjoy the repeat feeding tours. I enjoy seeing the same places and noticing different things. I wonder how many miles you have backed up a wide wagon in a narrow feed alley indoors.
In a feeding video long ago, I believe you made the comment that each feeding includes about 250,000 lbs of feed. Is that about where you are year round or does it vary with season? Do not apologize for another video on feeding. It might seem repetitive on first glance, but it still is interesting. It is a good change of pace.
I'm surprised someone hasn't said, "trade that tractor off for a new one". LOL Break downs happen, sometimes can't be helped. Shame that tractor is having issues. As always, great video, cheers :)
There is always something that throws a wrench at you. Ever thought of deleting the dpf on the 7200. I know one that they did and the tractor is a better tractor without it. It is a mixer tractor that has 17300 sum hours on it on a TMR. They replaced the dpf at 8000 hours and it plugged again at 12000. So that is why they deleted it.
I'm sure for you, this is insight into the obvious, but everything you do throughout the year is focused on that nutrition sheet. Any cow can live on hay and corn silage, but the proper proportion of each commodity provides the nutrition that keeps her healthy and maximizes her milk volume and quality. So, thanks for giving us this video.
Surprised that with the number of Tractors you have that there were only two that you talked about using, Also was this a weekend? If not dose Andrew always get up this early to help considering he has to go to school . At any rate I am very impressed by his work ethic. Please tell him.
I know it's none of my business but I would sure like to know how many mouths you have to feed every day?calves, heifers, dry cows, and fresh cows the whole bunch?
Hi an excellent video as usual, You are one of the only Americans that I can watch and enjoy watching as you tell it as it is and no BS. Your cow barns are huge how many feet or meters long are they? Also as I understand you are a diary so does that mean you produce cheese, yogurt Ext or just milk? Thanks keep the videos coming.
Since the mixers are big and seemingly start hard, just curious if you go through many pto clutches? I can't say I have heard you mention many , if any tractor pto issues in your videos. Thank you for the ride a long. 27 years since I have fed TMR to anybody.
Howdy Andy, I hope ya'll are doing well, I just noticed your driving in these barns with chains on, isn't that really hard on the concrete ?? Stay safe, God Bless and Farm on my Friend
If you are feeding cows at 3 AM - t what time do you go to bed ? Do you watch TV ? The news l, local, state, national ? Does your uncle still have a farm ? Does your uncle pay for the truck bodies you build ?
I've watched this channel for years and know nothing about the parlor, hoof trimming, calves etc. Crazy when you think about it. Friggin animal rights people.
I’m curious how many hours of sleep you would consider a good nights rest ! lol I appreciate letting us viewers tag along. Keep’em coming!
I have never seen a man work so many hours a day and he rarely takes a day off. Amazing dedication to his family and farm. America's best!!!!!
My question too when do you sleep
About 5
6 is good this time of year. Planting and harvesting, he's lucky to get 4.
I'm pretty sure he works while sleeping some days lol. Definitely a hard working guy that's for sure
City folks have no idea what it takes to produce a gallon of milk. Thank you for all the great content Andy.
Yes, thank you Andy for your dedication. You make even me look bad.😅
Your cows look comfortable and clean.
Nice looking animals, Andy!! Thank you for sharing
Andy is the only guy that can back a mixer wagon out of barn at 6mph and not wad it up.😂
Thumbs up Andy! Really liked riding along feeding cows! It was a nice change, almost thought for a minute I could smell the feed! Great video
You are welcome Bud
Those are sure some beautiful and happy girls!!!!!

I have a MADISON in my workforce, daughter that is. Thanks ANDY so much!
Great Lookin Holstein Dairy Cows Clean and well fed..Great Vid👍👍👍👍🌽🌽🌽🌽🍺🍺
It never ceases to amaze me what all goes into that gallon of milk in my refrigerator. Thanks !
I love to see a video dedicated to milking, the parlour, collecting yard, etc
Milk company doesn’t want him to show parlor
Bummer.
@@Jon-zr6fl my question is who owns the parlor?? The milk company or the farmer?? That doesn’t pass the smell test. Who cares if you see a cow being milked?? Questionable behavior there.
Farmer owns it but milk company pays the bills they run the show. No body to buy the milk no farm for long.

Always enjoy watching u feed the cows can't believe how early u start your day with feeding the cows my hat goes off to u
Thanks for the video Andy, I used to feed with a 2940 and later with a 2955 both open stations. Loved the fresh air during the winter.
Andy doesn't have sleep.....a farmer can sleep when they are dead !!! Thanks Andy
Nice looking barns Andy
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO ANDY 😊
I always enjoy the feeding videos. I've said it before y'all have some of the best looking cow's clean healthy well feed.
Another good one Andy 🚜🐄🌽🇺🇸👍

Another good video Andy. Thank you for your tour..
Awesome operation!! That’s a lot of cows to feed! I thought I have to feed lots after seeing this I’m tired just watching!!
Great job feeding cows Andy
How many tractor you have what kind tractor you have
Do you ever sleep?😂 Love the videos! Thank you!
Andy you make it look easy rolling up and down those alley ways. That’s a lot tougher than most people realize
Thanks for keeping the cameras rolling. I really enjoy how if sumpting breaks you got a plan for that! The pump tractor started up pretty good considering it was 7 F. Andy another good one!! Seen your feeding before but great to see another.
Keep feeding America great job the fly guy 😉
How old is the oldest barn? Your videos are always interesting on how much work it takes to run an operation of that size.
Our oldest barn that we are using for animals was built in the late 60’s
Wow that is impressive
Great job Andy, thanks for sharing your farm with us.
Im convinced that if there was a mixer wagon backing olympics, Andy is leaving with all 3 medals.
Yup Andy can back out fast with the best of them
Many years of practice!!
Lol
Thanks for your time and consideration Andy very informative top job top team awesome 🚜🔧🛠️🚛🚛🚛🚛🚜🚜🚜
Always enjoy the videos, and enjoy seeeint the cows. I grew up working on dairy farms in Minnesota, they were small farms. Its amazing what your farm does.
Andy. Would like a milking parlor tour that would be the first on the farm.❤
Andy, I hope one day you will be able to show us the parlor. I know you can’t now, but maybe someday?
All i can say is what an operation you have.
Your dad must be proud of you and your brother.
Take care and stay warm Andy !!!
I have been viewing for quite awhile always like the feeding videos not everyone realizes what it take to feed a big herd
Now I know why I ran away from the farm and became a mechanical engineer. 8 hour days fit my schedule better. When I was a kid we’d get out of the barn at 8:30 - 9:00 pm. I did go to the barn in the morning unless it was a weekend.
Awesome video again andy keep them coming. Can't wait to watch video with Alex's new tractor 😅
When do sleep seems you are always doing something you do a great job
All that cold only confirms why I live in Florida 😁😁 Thanks for the videos
Great video Andy
that tractor with the 50 series tires is a good auger cart tractor the farm i worked at the tractor i had to use on the auger cart had 50 series tires on it and made looking over them tall trailers easy
Your backup skills with the mixer is amazing.
It’s a real shame that you can’t show videos on the large scale cow care and milking etc …. Really like your channel
Thanks again for the content Andy. I enjoy the repeat feeding tours. I enjoy seeing the same places and noticing different things. I wonder how many miles you have backed up a wide wagon in a narrow feed alley indoors.
A few
We would like to see the milking parlour and milk room before it’s loaded on the truck. We’re from Steve Nissley’s Va . Hometown
He’s only said about a million times that he will never show the parlour set up
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
I worked through college feeding cows on a Dairy In Genoa
It was my first job out of college too
Of all the big iron we've had, DEF and the regen have easily been our number one reason for down time
They are killing the engines by regulation
Good job Andy in keeping the cows feed👍🚜
Andy do you ever sleep? Every day up by 230 or Three in the morning.
It’s not everyday
I used to feed with an 806 and a 706 gas both narrow front end. It was cold
Probably same year round. Housed cattle don't graze, they get complete ration delivered, so it would be the same.
Same year round
low rail psi often fuel jelling and/or plugged filters , line etc .
Nope not this time
I'm surprised someone hasn't said, "trade that tractor off for a new one". LOL
Break downs happen, sometimes can't be helped. Shame that tractor is having issues. As always, great video, cheers :)
How many mixes do you make a day and how many times a day do you feed

The 4450 is just sitting there to go on the mixer. Or maybe the 6030 or 4620😂
Andy can you do a video of the milking parlour
no
Great video one of the best
Andy you want me to bring my John Deere D to hook up to the feed wagon?😆😆
Thanks for sharing some of the morning chores 👍
Looks like your girls were hungry this morning !
What is the minimum hp to run the mixer wagon ?
About 220
Who prepares the seed planting plan to achieve the annual nutrition requirements for all of your cows?
I do

Hi Andy how about a milking parlour video thanks from British Columbia
Cold freezing weather seem to create a whole new set of problems with machinery
It’s a good thing you have more than one “team” of horses.
Can you explain the footbaths in the crossover alley. Is that the only place you have them.
Lots of cow girls😅..!❤❤❤❤❤❤
i like watching you feed cows each time no matter how often , you never sleep do you?
Andy with 4,000 head as long as everything goes well how long does it take to feed every day the 4,000 head ? Thanks
5.5 hours in the morning and about .75-1.5hours afternoon
What happens if you find a dead cow. Where do you dispose of it. Olgoat
3am, Andy when do you sleep? Turning wrenches in the show well into the night and up and at it at 3 am....
Its nice to get to see feeding. Where does the old barns stop and the new one beings? Is everything all connected to the parlor ?
At time 10:20 how long is this barn, and is the longest?
I know that in one video he said the one barn is right around 900 ft long
Surprised that with the number of Tractors you have that there were only two that you talked about using, Also was this a weekend? If not dose Andrew always get up this early to help considering he has to go to school . At any rate I am very impressed by his work ethic. Please tell him.
He said it was Saturday.
Saturday morning, tire configuration and horse power needed
Farm kids get up early and do chores before catching the school bus.
Yea i know i was a farm kid ,but to be in the barn a 3am and then go to school a little to much.@@OOpSjm
How big are these mixers ?
I know it's none of my business but I would sure like to know how many mouths you have to feed every day?calves, heifers, dry cows, and fresh cows the whole bunch?
Where did the mixer you painted and rebuilt go. I swear that was like yesterday lol
Sitting
Have you looked at self propelled and self loading mixer wagons.
Saw some on another channel. Interesting….
Like to here your thoughts
Thanks
You can always swap a tractor to power a mix wagon, and Andy has at least 2 mix wagons. SP unit goes down, and you can be in a bad spot.
It would be only good if there was never a break down

That longest barn is about 900’ and our milk goes to a processor, and they make the various products from it. They mostly process and bottle the milk

Might be a silly question but why don’t you reverse into the barn at 15minutes? I reverse in and feed on the way out.
Sometimes it’s harder to get traction to backup and I don’t want a cross over get to get closed before I get to it.
I know you have probably mentioned it before but how many tons of feed per day does it take?
How close did the last year's harvest come to producing the nutrition you need for this year?
Looks like we’ll have enough
Howdy Andy, I hope ya'll are doing well,
I just noticed your driving in these barns with chains on, isn't that really hard on the concrete ??
Stay safe, God Bless and Farm on my Friend
Not really
How many head of cows are you milking and do you milk 3 times a day?
Do you use the high moisture corn in the silo to make the corn meal?
No we’ll feed that late spring as high moisture
If you are feeding cows at 3 AM - t what time do you go to bed ?

I wondering the same thing
Parked in front of lower feed bunk

how many can you milk at a time ?
40
Andy you will have staff working on the farm 24/7 is that right?
Dairy cattle need care and milked every day of the year.
Yes
@@mfreund15448 yea I know that but just wondering was it 24/7 not say 18hrs that said thanks for your reply
If you have leftover feed from the milk cows what do you do with it? Feed it to young heifers
He said someone gets it for a beef herd.
Do the cows ever get hit in the head by the mixer ?
Not when I’m feeding
I wondered that too lol
