I always thought this one, and his one with the Braves, were hilarious. As soon as the scrap starts, he finds his way to the back and keeps jawing. In this case he actually did throw some shots in but then got knocked down and retreated as soon as he was up.
Porter gave that batter a chance. When he threw his bat, the umpire could have ejected him out of the game. But he just fined him. But when he does the same thing again by throwing his helmet, that is why he got ejected. It's unsportsmanlike conduct.
I keep hearing this. Umpire's jurisdiction is over the entire field from moment arriving at field confines. NHFS Rule 10.1.2 We are responsible for bull pens, on deck areas, press area, dugouts. It doesn't help to yell "get your nose out of our dugout, blue..." when you are talking loud enough for us to hear you. If we do not control dugouts, bullpens and entire field area, we get graded down for lack of taking charge.
That overturned call at the plate that went against the Rangers doesn't seem right. The catcher caught the ball in front of him and then was able to bring the glove to his side to make the transfer. IMO this shows control while his foot was still on home plate. Now I can see how you could argue it. Like saying the ball came out of the glove on its own, without the hand, so no control, but at this level, short tossing from glove to hand isnt uncommon. He looks to be completely in control until his free hand, waiting to receive the ball from the glove hand, misses the ball. I just can't see definitive evidence to overturn the out. It sucks not hearing the reasoning of the review, only the announcers opinion which is hit and miss. Pulling all-nighters. Watching ejections. Loving it.
yeah for a short time in 2014 they changed the rule... at that time with the rule they had it was the right call.. but they quickly changed it back to what it was in the past

If I have said it once, I:ve said it a million times. Why in the hell don,' t they call out these damn catchers. They catch apitch that is CLEARLY a ball, and then with a quick raise of the glove, it's a FN strike. Why are they letting these guys do that and not say anything about it? Just another one of those stupid "unwritten" rules I guess.
I assume Carlos Gomez' nickname is "Hold me back, bro".....you know, the guy that always starts crap, makes it look like he is trying to get at somebody, but is always conveniently allowing himself to be held back by teammates? The king of the fake tough guys.
bob davidson has always been an old grump with a fowl mouth does he have kids or grand kids I hope he doesen't talk like that infront of them. Bob for the love of basdball retire and stay retired just go away
I'm assuming you're talking about the Reds /Braves pick off play at 1st base. Well when he's called safe but very clearly out you have to challenge. Unfortunetly there's nothing you can do about the stupidity of the replay official. Still can't figure out how they could screw up that replay so badly.
2:26 Pac-Man had enough of it too, apparently
If Carlos Gomez would have worried more about just playing ball instead of running his mouth, he could have been a really great player.
I need to like this comment about 15-20 times.

Unless he said something nasty to the umpire, throwing another piece of equipment after being warned is an violation that will get you ejected.

Agreed ❤❤
Rip Vin Scully
Why are all umpires 60? is that how little people care to be one?
I think David Wright said something like "Turn around and don't worry about us." Not, "you're the worst."
I like the strike-three call of John Tumpane.
22:39 Random Ron Washington
I feel pretty confident saying Milwaukee doesn't miss Carlos Gomez at all. #HairTriggerSnowflake

Baseball is a much better game without Bob Davidson
“… well, thank you Jamie.”
Some of these empires need a refresher course.
32:06 Greg Gibson, the home plate umpire, asking the 3rd base umpire "Did you throw him out?"
And the Yankees are celebrating in their dugout
I barely remember yesterday let alone the 2014 season
Orioles should have won the world series
Elvis Andrus has just been ejected from the game for arguing balls and strikes.
I have no problem with umps missing balls and strikes, but they needa call em the same the whole game
I remember watching the game where Pineda got tossed
I remember watching that game as well. Someone at ESPN should have told Girardi not to touch the camera when he got back to the dugout.
16:00 Gomez. Is. A. Punk.

Gomez can do what he wants
still a baby
Bob Davidson couldn’t ump a tee ball game correctly
Bob Davidson is god
I hate Bob Davidson more than either Joe West or Angel Hernandez. And that's saying a lot
If only the eye sight were as acute as the hearing.
bob davidson has always been an old grump with a fowl mouth does he have kids or grand kids I hope he doesen't talk like that infront of them.

I think he retried 4 years ago
Why is it that the umps are not held accountable for there mistakes.
Who’s dumb enough to challenge a call in the first that’s close
