The definition of a masterpiece...you play it in your house and the neighbors complain that it's too loud. The police come and arrest the neighbors
😂
😝😝😝
you wish. Police does not reckognize a masterpiece.
@@StefBon2008
Nice smiley😅
an old man once told me that anybody can play loud and fast, but not everybody can play soft and slow. You all just saw what he was speaking of
❤
This is off topic man, shhhhht
@@remaxsunsetbychristophe
there's a topic?
I love the way he waits for the melody, no rush, and plays the notes of his improv to the melody a bit late, never rushing the melody itself.
his ear is faster than every eye
Well said
Saw in Live in this very year in HK! He was marvellous. Long last his memory.
Yep
Yeah, that is Julliard School of music, this is deep into Joakim Quantz 1771 Playing on Flute it is called music style, theory or whatever... i am research scientist and a son of conductor..
The guitarist playing with him is amazing. The eye contact as he played with Miles is amazing. I could loop this for hours and never get tired of listening the true master!!! RIP Miles. He is gone but the music will live forever.
Man, there's no one like this anymore.
I literally had to "un-train" my mind from traditional music in order to appreciate this genius
I remember when he started playing ‘Time after Time’ and they laughed at him! It took him 20 mins to make them understand, like he always did, patiently and slowly. And gently. Miles Davis is My Man.
Classic
He was and is the soul of the 20th century. Still a huge influence to musicians worldwide. I love you, Miles. ❤
Could you elaborate a bit more why a trumpet player could have a such huge influence … wd be nice to help those who are not expert who can’t assess that impact !!!!
@@Kassiusday He influenced various styles starting with Bebob, Cool Jazz, Fusion and others. He always remained curious and integrated many young artists in his work, most of them became Jazz stars themselves. He also built the bridge to other music forms from Rock to Classical Musik.
❤❤❤
This is your MasterClass!
The percussionist has such a beautiful touch... Great ears... More beautiful colors...
For real we can hear him softly♥️

The Miles Davis "sound" evokes an emotion in me that I can't quite put my finger on. There's all the pain in the world in his interpretations and I'm moved every time I listen to him.
Timeless 2024 and still feels like the first time 🪘🪘🪘🎺🎸❤the bassist Congoes guitar 🎸 to play with the grandmaster You have made it when he plays with your instrument And talks to you with his ❤RIP MD❤
No words can describe this Poetry. I saw him in Torino and I can't forget that night. I miss him.
What an evening that must have been!
Vibe - I'm in a cafe in Paris, the lights dimmed, sipping Bourbon. The power of music. ❤
Miles is so cool...my monitor is iced. Imagine the joy Cyndi Lauper has listening to this...
IT'S All been said really not much you can say except that MAN IT'S. MILE'S DAVIS LEGEND I'll stop there.
This man was a poet with his sax.
What an honor for Cindy Lauper to have her song versioned by this genius!
Miles was a musical genius........"Only play the 'Butter Notes'"..........He made "Bad Notes" sound great......This IMHO is the best "Live" version of this song by Miles. You can listen to every Live Performance over the years of this song and no two are the same. They are all great. I can listen to it over and over. Thanks for Sharing.
Don't play the butter notes*
Ha gone nnete e fetang eo. He was always experimenting and pushing the boundaries of music. Tsietsi Malema wa ko Daveyton
BUM notes every where. Miles was great. But like a lot of jazz, it's free style.😅😅
@@itboznkgvjugjtfg that’s correct
Love it
5:25 - it's like Miles is luring him in with his playing and he approaches, ever so gently. He leans in saying: "I'm here, I'm listening. I'll follow you". I have no idea what the fuck is going on beyond that, but I can feel some sort of tension and I love it.
The greatest of all time. Spanned decades and so many genres of music. Everyone played with Miles. Ask anyone, what is the greatest Jazz recording of all times? Kind of Blue.
Miles Davis, the musical dynamo, the fancy dresser. His musical dynamics was a manifestation of the jazz giant he was. He was an evergreen and ever evolving "student" in search of the jazz musical truth. Stasis wasn't part of his musical life - he was forever musically in flux. He was credited for the "birth of the cool" - moving from the velocity of "Be-bop" to cool and/or modal jazz. Foresight drove him and his music forward. Oh yeah, he was among the artists credited with the introduction of "fusion jazz." How he managed to keep his creative juices flow, is an awesome wonder for moi(sic). Miles was always miles ahead!! His record sales are even posthumously outstanding. A great musical genius par-excellence. The music of the quintessential Miles "Dewey" Davis will forever impact a jazzophile's music collection and appreciation.
Theo Kgapola {Benoni}
You have just described Miles Davis, the Gemini, to a TEE. Not to put too great an emphasis on astrology, but Miles was the quintessential twin. He ALWAYS changed things in everyway. Dynamism to be sure.
I am so in love with language. Thank you Theo🥰
I hope you read….
When Miles plays it ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes. Absolute BRILLIANCE! 👑💝💯
Those last notes without the mute in his trumpet totally changed the sound recalling some hard-bop sensations for us who never forget he was first a Bepop/Hardbop musician before he was fusion musician.
Ethereal, bllues, subtley blowing, Miles displaying the grace, poigmant, gently showing, a patience I hope to know better as my temperment wearing thin!
Never really listened to Miles Davis before, but there is something so personally intricate about the way he's playing that horn that it delved into my soul and brought a tear to my eye. Guess in the future I will spend some time getting introduced to Miles Davis.
Good idea.
I’ve cried multiple times to this song. It’s crazy bruh. My favorite and only miles song.
I am not the only one then.
This really isn't a good place to start or wouldn't be for many .
@@MrInterestingthings The complexity of jazz music?
He performed this in London in London in the 80s - FABULOUS! ( I may still have my ticket stub for that concert) :)
He was phenomenal and unsurpassed, especially in his late years.
One of my best Miles Davis live recordings.
Doubt music can be more meaningful than Mr. Miles Davis' five easy pieces. Direct from my heart. Wojciech
Boy, could this man play? Regards from England. March, 2023.
His music is timeless🌌💜💓💜🌌⭐
Even not properly his. this one is ok
When he removes the mute in the last part his clarity is stunning.
I think youre smoke the same sh*t Miles was. This was garbage.
I absolutely agree. The first time I heard it it moved me almost to tears.
Miles's silent notes are made of pure reflexion.
While his Blue notes goes straight to my heart
A dream listening to this . Miles Davis was a genius of a man. RIP 🙏 ❤
Tengo todo lo CD de miles davis y mucho más de esa evoca
Los vendo al que le interese
Jesus, who was Miles Davis? He is otherworldly to me. Only Miles Davis lives on.
Pure genius. His music became more and more refined. Everything has been done to let only the brightest notes pass. The duet with the bass player is the most accomplished piece of music I have ever heard.
His Musical Interpretation was "Refined" from the Beginning
@@jonsmith848 From my old and used mind :
"why play all these notes when we just need the most beautiful"
I think the real one by MD was :
"Don't worry about playing a lot of notes. Just find one pretty one."
Listen to Birelli Lagrene enjoy...
The duet with the bass player was amazing, pure genius. Thank guys.
@@jonsmith848 I know, I read that and thought the same thing. More and more refined? Really?
Očigledno da ću umreti zadovoljan jer postoji Miles Davis. I pomalo mi je smešno i drago što meni nekom kome je komunizam satirao mladost crnci, dragi ljudi, na kraju mog života , znače neočekivano i otvaraju horizonte. Hendrix mi je prvi muzićki genije a Miles , izgleda zadnji...
I discovered Mile Music ,Much to appreciate how hard Her Must Have Suffered to achieve His Voice❤ Thanks MILES❤ John Barnett revisited October 2023. R I P ❤
I always said I wanted this to be the final song played as I go on to meet my maker something about this song and the way miles lays it out makes you feel such a peace and ready to move on to the next level wherever that may be there's no other musician like this gentleman I had the pleasure of seeing him at Tanglewood and as I was standing by the stage waiting for the lights to go down he came out right in front of me and I yelled out miles and stretch my hand out for a shake he looked at me and not at no but for that moment I had his attention I will never forget that this guy will take me to the end of my road and hopefully beyond 🙏👍🥲💪🎶🎹🎼🇺🇲
What?
I was there,never will forget..😊
No pain no rush just sweetness and love
The notes! Nothing else needs to be said. Takes me away most! Close Your eyes and listen!!

The silence (between the notes) are just important as the melody itself. I love this version of what is arguably Cyndi Lauper's greatest song.
that magical silence is the real music
Miles smiles with his trumpet and that is the best, that's all what you have to now.... Greetings from Germany
Beautiful and pure music. Thank you Miles, Kenny and Foley
So True ❤
Obožavam ovog čoveka, jer je predivan muzičar.
He played as if he became one with his instrument, caught up in the music. He played and arranged at the same time.
Genuis !!
❤
A great Cyndi Lauper tune + one of the greatest jazz musicians ever = this groovy cover I’ve only just discovered. Cool beans!
A Rob Hyman tune
Seeing miles Davis play is the epitome to me to listen to jazz and seeing where it comes from.
The greatest innovator of all time.
It can only be done once and can never be repeated again. Geniuses are only born once 6agree with me, there can never be another Miles Davis.
He was as inside the music as you can be.
A composer, leader and perfectionist to make the audience happy.
Some..of the most pure of jazz sounds I've ever heard. And that's saying alot!
This is real! Gets inside you! Love it!
some of Miles Davies worst stuff - cringe.
It makes my heart race when he starts playing and walking in lock-step with the guitarist.
Appreciation must come with age. So thankful for his and accompanying musicians talents. Inspiration to pull out my canvasses and paints😊!!
Still remember my dad in the early 70's for part time money worked behind the stages for summer festivals. He took me along once to a Jazz festival with Quincy and Miles in the lineup. After the concert my dad asked how I liked the festival. I said it was okay but Dad that man with the trumpet was on stage for seemingly 2 hours and he played like only 5 songs...Once in awhile I think about what I know now about what I didn't know than.
Thank you, Miles, wherever you are.❤
Miles...incredible, moved me to tears.
Perhaps the most beautiful version Miles has given us. A healing and a meditation.
Ascenseur pour l'échafaud première écoute sublime
Never will another one❤️❤️ not even in 1000000000 miles
Genius can come from the least likely places. Thank you Barry for your introduction to Miles Davis so long ago. All of the old ones have left us. East St. Louis loves you both.
All my best memories with his music.
Ditto! There'll never be another Miles! Beautiful!
I can't get over how in tune every performer is. Mr. Davis obviously leads with his gorgeous muted trumpet tone but he very much sets the stage for the other performers to dig the rhythm and shine. This whole composition is so magical and beautiful. I love it.
Miles Davis
L ‘ unico musicista al mondo che suona note e non note
