Ive been listening to Disturbed for years and i cant believe i used to ignore The Lost Children album, I just heard this song and immediately became my no. 1 song from them

The melody of the chorus has always evoked in me some sense of reality of death and its connection to the universe, made me feel death in a brutally straightforward way, without connection it to grief or self-pity. Ever since I was a child I had experienced a terrible existential crisis, and only recently have I been able to rethink everything and accept the fact that death is inevitable, that for billions of years I have not existed , then I will exist for 80 years, and then I will not exist again. I've come to accept that since I've been out of this world for so long, it's okay to get used to it and not be afraid when it starts again after death. Nevertheless, this song makes me feel afraid again...
Soon living will be a stranger to us. As strange as death may be, we’ve just been living life our entire lives.

They say 'Malevolent (which means evil or wishing to cause harm) emotions take hold of me... The literal opposite of what you are hearing....
This song is about 'Dexter'... He's a 'good' serial killer... He lets malevolent emotions drive him to kill... But only 'bad people'.
Why does the album say asylum even tho it was from the lost children?
@@joseguerrero4959 probably, its like that thing with my ipod where in the 10th anniversary edition from the sickness album where it has a welcome burden and god of the mind even tho ironically its from the lost children.
The lost children album is a bunch of songs that didn't made it to the other albums, so it probably says that this song would've been in the asylum album but wasn't added in the end
The lost children is a b sides compilation album so like bonus songs that weren’t on the standard album are on here. From what I understand.

@@jerrywarren24 I'm not clueless just I never looked deep into what they were doing with the lost children album, I never knew they just took songs from other albums and put it in this one. I guess that's why there lost. but I know there are bands that do this like Korn. if you listen to the album version of clown not AC3 version you can here one of the band members I think it was David I don't know having a conversation with the other ones saying they wish they can play the song twist which in case your wondering is the first song from second album so my guess is that they wanted twist to be on the first album but never made it. so pardon if sometime I don't do my research on the lost children.
