    A tip for the cutter: apply the brakes on your thruster just before you make a cut. I pretty much never use the stinger mode, with brakes in use and a careful alignment you can cut through multiple points using the split saw.
    I’m talking slicing into 4 or 5 rows of the yellow cut points in a single cut. It’s amazingly efficient but you *have to* use the brakes for this to work. Get the angle just right so that your cutting line extends to all of the cutting points, brake, then cut. You can get the entire hull off in seconds.
    Love this video for giving the advice on what upgrades aren’t so necessary, I don’t feel as bad for neglecting my suit now!

    One pretty neat thing he totally missed is that you can negate collision damage if you use the grab on button. So if you pull yourself toward something at high speeds just let go of the pull button then hold the grab button and when you hit what ever is in front of you you'll brace yourself for the impact.
    It doesn't work att full speed but still pretty much the speed you would've used with your normal brakes anyway, even a little faster than that. The same goes for catching objects. Yes, you can catch things you pull towards yourself! Not massive things but still, a lot of cargo, furniture, electrical panels ect ect. Just remember to let go of the pull button first, otherwise it won't work!

      Also, if you are either unsure or know that opening an airlock will result in a violent blowout you can hold the grab on button (the left one only!) WHILE opening the door with your right hand!

    A tip for a limited "spares" playthroughs: Avoid quasar drive ships. They will try to fry and than smash your cutter for no particular reasons.
    Ok, you could run through fire without damage at all, you could use coolant to shut it down, you could even "tank" fire damage if unlucky, but when halves of that huge engine nacelle would attempting to dance after disconnecting (as they do time to time) - you may find yourself between two of these with your options very limited...

    This vid made me want to try playing Hardspace Shipbreaker. It felt a bit intimidating with the large amounts of money you need in the game but your explanations of what is important to spend money or time on is super helpful.

    When positioning for cutting, turning gives you the most intuitive control, but relying on up/down/left/right/rotate is better, because they can be breaked.
    Just start the movement, wait until your good, break. Not good? You're close, so repeat but in smaller doses

    With regards to oxygen recharge: You come quite quickly to a point where you only need one refill O2 per shift and the cost for O2 is not so high, so yeah; skipped that one too since it has a very low return on investment that vanishes later on when your O2 lasts the entire shift.

    The other day I had an AI Node spawn attached to the reactor, which was the class 2 reactor of a Gecko class ship -_-

    You shold cut the doors instead of destroying them, as they have value as well.

      That's true, but I found they took more time then they were worth. I might just need to play around with it more to figure out a more efficient way to do it. Thanks!

      Unless perfecting ships for stickers chunk cutting ships is fastest way to advance in both currencys, most ships have areas to cut them open in large areas then empty all barge items and despose of ships in at most 8 large chunks worry about 4 staring for most of money but waste to much time on smaller chunk cutting sometimes it's worth it to just send some furnace debris into the process area or barge allowing more ships per hour as most can be finished in 15 mins or less if your cutting multiple days your to slow or cutting to small

    Thethers only valuable on heavy large chunk cutting everything else should be pushed as tethers add up fast every 100 is 16000000

    • @arcstar
      @arcstar  11 місяців тому +2

      The value, as with most things, is situational. Yes, cutting things can make them easier to push in, but using tethers can free up time you can spend doing something else. Early on, when your rent per day is high, the time is more valuable, so the trade off can change over time. You are right though that you don't want to be using tethers for everything. The grapple provides plenty of value by itself.

    I find it funny I've only been playing this game for 12 hours and I learned most of these tricks myself I was hoping to find some more watching yours which I did about the AI nodes. But I'm hoping by watching others I find a few more. I am still in New and I just recently got to pressurized ship's. I am only about five hours in and looking for some tips and tricks

    Durability over fuel capacity is a really bad advise ;f

    • @arcstar
      @arcstar  11 місяців тому +1

      I'm curious why you think this. I never found fuel capacity very limiting and it was easy to fill at the start of a shift if needed. The repair parts weren't that big of a deal either really, but I just didn't like repairing the tools. It's probably just a matter of personal preference, unless you know of something I missed.

    • @krasbestendig
      @krasbestendig 9 місяців тому

      I agree. Repairing a tool is barely necessary and the repair kit doesn't cost that much. When I started the game, I saw it was the reward for a resource efficient dismantle. But it actually isn't that great of a reward imo

      If you use the grapple to pull yourself everywhere it's not only much faster but also uses way less fuel.
