This is probably the most straightforward and on point "how to fake being good at piano"-video I have ever seen. I think it contains good tips even for actual pianists from beginner to pro. Good work Andy, all the best!
I don't know how to play the piano but it's like the one instrument that is so easy to play sounds and make something. I have had some people ask if I play when I sit at one simply because I made a repeated pattern with my right hand and had some fun with my left.
Wow Andy! You make a great teacher. I bet your patience is nearly endless. I cannot forget how great of a pianist you are, either! You put the "super" in "superb!" I sincerely hope that you were able to work out whatever it was that drew you to a counselor. I think that most people would benefit from seeing a counselor even if, it was only oce or twice.
I'm just a beginner and almost never play something, but I remember one time long ago I was improvising, like mainly being carefull repeating the same note every few tempo, partly focusing on one acorde at a time and doing semirandom stuff but trying hard and getting lucky. My mom was listening and after a few minutes she kind of like it and said your grandfather(her dad) has songs like this. That was funny. My grandfather was a great musician with compositions of different genre. That to my mother some of them sounded so random is the funny thing. But it happens. I think about Tchaikovsky and I remember some very melodic and beautifull songs but can't remember well some other music he did, that to me are strange and a bit random. BTW my grandfather did some crazy great songs but lived humble all his life and afaik he didn't even register his work, he not just played folklore and classical music but was a great compositor(and director), I remember when I was a kid I heard about 15 pop songs he made and recorded after arranging a group of people and professional singer and it was so good, I think he was completely blind already at that time, I lost the cassette. I remember when I was a kid I got impressed and was thinking the world of music was so big while enjoying every single song that was on the cassette, because all the songs sounded original and were really good. It's a shame I can't find for example anything of his creations in youtube or something like that. Even the cassette I heard with the pop music, its like nobody have it anymore, the only thing I can find is an anthem he did for a school. The students and ex-students seem very proud of their anthem so that was a job well done, but it's the only f*thing on the internet about my grandfather besides a couple of mentions in newspapers and it is so sad so so much can not be found or recovered, definitely he was not digital yet........................
That’s so amazing and sad to hear. I was about to search up your grandfathers works until I read until the end. If you start putting his name out there (maybe make a Wikipedia page for him with help from family members? Or post on social media?) to try find other people that have his recordings, or students who still know his works. I hope you find lots of joy on your own piano journey and find your unique sound so your grandkids will one day also be compared to you 😊
Although I am a professional pianist, i watched the whole video till the end, love each methods you used for beginners, very nice, good job, wish I had such a tutor when i started learning piano about 15 years ago 😅😅😅
Hey man it's kinda hard to see which keys your pushing somesome kind? There Anyway you could slow it down filmwise a touch and/or add a marker of somekind?
Just so people understand the controversy, Betterhelp was caught running a website with actual therapist profiles but when you tried to book them, they directed all the traffic to betterhelp and said those people were not taking new clients. They were sued for this and told to shutdown. In addition, betterhelp is a subscription service and they make it ridiculously hard to cancel the subscription. Finally, most UA-cam endorsement ads didn't even use the service.
Congratulations on your video, your proposals really work and sound great, in fact they are practically musical compositions. 👏👏 That's why let me recommend my channel: simple arrangements of great pop-rock songs, easy but effective. Just the same! 😉 Thanks!
