DOOM is actually designed to spin in both directions. A hit in the "wrong" direction will actually send the arm upwards, not the entire bot. It is intended to spin that way when wanting to hit the top of the opponent.
Doom looks great! glad more bots are taking the hammer saw (always wondered why it's called that) approach, and better yet, I heard that there was a tournament that didn't require safety or registration something so bots like Doom and Zap could participate (could someone confirm for me?). Only issue is, with how prevalent ground clearance has become, I'm worried about Doom's ground game. I understand the big Doom saw can clobber enemies from far away, but I feel like Bots like Shatter or Endgame with their stupid long forks could mess you up. Then again I haven't seen the mobility of this thing and I didn't build it. Best of luck!
@@JustinWilliams-ed2ug That's not what I said? I simply stated that Doom has a lot of clearance (for a battlebot) and with how powerful forks and wedges are how that could be a major issue. Also I'm just happy that more spinner saws (seriously why hammersaw?) are getting into BB.
@@JustinWilliams-ed2ug I said that I was worried about Doom's ground game due to the need to have a really good ground game to do well in BB. I also read that some people were saying that Doom's reach would cover for this, so I gave the examples of Shatter and Endgame, two bots well known for having really long forks. So no, I name-dropped endgame for the same reason I said Shatter.
Really hoping to see Doom at World Championship 8! Any idea what might have happened at Robogames? :O I hope we get to see Doom unleash its full potential!
If Doom ever gets to work properly, it would be mean. Good luck on resolving all the issues and make it battle ready. You guys did a good job.
The way the lighting was beaming I thought the bot was on fire!
Them lights were bright! Even a bit hard on the eyes in person.
Already hearing the soundtrack.
Good luck, rip and tear.
DOOM will rip and tear as the design intended.
Blade is spinning wrong way - any hit will send it upwards. This is a suicide machine.

You guys made it! That is one horrifying weapon right there!
an unholy noise that surpasses the mighty cyberdemon
Having seen the “making of” video, I’m thrilled to see the amount of stability and lack of self-destructing weapon on this iteration!
As much as Doom looks like OffBrand Beta, I gotta say that will crotch kick you into oblivion.
You don't gotta say that. Regardless of how well Doom performs in it's BattleBots debut, it's a lot of work and dedication to get here.
@@blueovalboy i know that you think i dont gotta, however i think i gotta, so i did, my humor isnt broken, its shattered.

DOOM Incarnate
@@aptinventions I suppose so
It looks even better than the CAD
Can't say the same about the geometric accuracy, but yeah, DOOM looks pretty good...
Looks like disruptor form robot wars
Pyramid Robot Gang
from the sound and looks of this bot it's going to "rip and tear" some bots
Yes. That is the idea.
Uh oh
Hey Paytrolah, what happened to all of your 'best of' videos?
oh no
It's a shame it failed safety 😔
DOOM passed safety. Just a bit later than the other bots.
@@aptinventions ah,then I heard half the story. Thank you
Thought they were out of competition
They are this is just video clips
@@TheLegoBattlebotsLab ah
There's a difference between "out of the tourney" and "b& from bb"
@@Baltimorehackerspace What??
@@TheLegoBattlebotsLab Just because they're out of the tourney doesn't mean they can't fight.
I do worry about the ground clearance on Doom.
Will you add any forks/wedges to the robot?
I wouldnt, Looks like it has more than enough reach on that hammer to hit anything it wants as is
Forks/Wedges are a must have for certain opponents.
I can also assure you there is a sufficient amount of ground clearance.
@@gtcrc Yes, the reach on DOOM is also significant enough to bypass the ground game in some cases.
Impressive most Impressive.
Yes Jack.

I see it as a valuable learning experience. Things will only get better from here on out. :)
i am your 200th sub :)
Congratulations DooDoo
Yoooo I can’t wait to see you on TV!
OMG ITS REAL!?!?! IT LOOKS SO GOOD 🔥
It looks good on purpose.
Am I seeing this wrong or was the bot one n fire towards the middle and end of the testing session?
I think it was just a light
