My favourite bit of Larry’s playing were always his forays into semi-classical, solo acoustic pieces. He seemed to be able to create unique and expressive interpretations of familiar and obscure work. His long-form improvisations were an interesting adjunct to this genre. A superb, creative musician.
I have LOVED his "Pavane Pour Une Infante Défunte (Ravel)" playing ever since hearing it on his (1975) Restful Mind record, first track, titled (there) in English: "Pavane For A Dead Princess".
Larry's warmth & kindness towards his viewers is matched by his brilliance of expression through his talent & guitar work.
