This ain't yo daddy's Overdrive! Never has there been an OD/Boost pedal that can compare with the long awaited Xotic BB Plus! Part BB Preamp part Boost pedal, this little baby has you covered. The BB side is very versatile and shimmery, from high gain madness to low gain sizzle. The tone controls are very interactive with each other creating an amazing palette of tones.Both sides feature a Comp switch giving you two different cut-off frequencies to choose from, a slight scoop for heavier crunch, or a warmer cream tone for sizzling lead. The second side of the Xotic BB Plus is a super transparent boost/buffer. Use this to kick a little extra db for a boost or as a buffer in a long run of pedals. Both sides are true bypass and seperately footswitchable. There is also a toggle for the order in which the sides operate: Boost-OD or OD-Boost. No other pedal on the market can keep up with the new BB Plus from Xotic Effects.

If you are in A and push B, you get both. Warning: depending on your settings, e.g. A set distorted and B set distorted, you may get more overdrive or volume than you desire. This pedal works best as two overdrives, with a third box for boost. I've used it for a few years and ABSOLUTELY love it. It is an amazing dirt box. Note: I'm using a Fender Twin

This pedal has been way to underestimated. People from Xotic made two big mistakes. They call it after the BB (wich had a huge succes),and on each and every page you can read that the A channel is as a BB. But if you ask Xotic...they say no, it's different.
So the bad rumors started. BUT this is a great, underestimated pedal, it gives such a huge range og overdrive, and it's so feels like a good marshall. Buy this, you'll throw a lot of 'good to have OD" from your board. IT ROCKS!
I agree. My main distortion comes from this baby, through a plexi and line 6 spider.
This is by far the best sounding & most versatile drive pedal i've ever tried and those were many(incl.Fulltone OCD&Fulldrive, Okko Diablo,Ibanez TS-808, Boss SD1, Barber Direct Drive,..). I will probably sell most overdrive Pedals I own, cause this thing can do all i expect from a good pedal..I dial in a transparent low/medium gain rhythm sound on channel B and use channel A for solo boost. Both sounds are incredibly good. With this thing my long gone search has finally found an end...puh

Sweeeet sounding pedal! I love the Xotic BB Preamp but this thing has it and the GT500 beat IMHO. Great demo!

@lberretta Yes, G system has preamp loop insert places, I use 3 different preamps on my G system. a mesa boogie v twin, a landgraff and a bluesbreaker. G SYSTEM has places for 4 different preamp loops.
Well the closest to that off the top of my head would be the Fulton GT 500,or the Trex spindoctor,The spindoctor has two 12ax7 tubes and 4 channels with buffer bypass,GT 500 is a preamp/boost,and overdrive/dist with true bypass,both cool though ya might want to give them a look.

I agree. The BB retains tone of the guitar much better and is responsive to your playing and touch
Sounds sweet. I'm using a electro hamonix pi with wicker switch and the seymour duncan twin tube classic...but I'm definitely thinking about adding this to what I have...maybe sell the other two or just the seymour duncan twin tube.
it's a different philosophy - boost (second switch) in fulldrive works only when the pedal is on (the first switch), here you've got two separate channels, both with LOTS of options to use.
as for the sound, xotic is a bit more harsh or gritty, which I personally find more characteristic (instead of more genering fulldrive sound).
BB+ wins it for me.

Got to tell you fellows, I´m not going to tell if de bb+ is better than other boutique fizz pedals because Ithink It's a matter off taste, but I've tried with tube and solid state pedals in to my diferent amps, some tubes some Solid state, and the bb+ is the only that sounds grate no matter the amp.
Somehow I really dislike the sound in this clip. I like the sound of my regular BB Preamp into my Mesa Boogie a LOT more... weird. But BB is a really amazing pedal from Xotic, kudos to them.
I have the OCD also and I disagree dude... The OCD sounds great but it tends to cut the definition and highs if you are in high gain settings... I tried to fixed it adding other pedals but never worked... the BB plus tone controls react much better than Fulltones.... I am using a Suhr amp so is not an amp thing... BB plus beats OCD hands down....

So it would be easy to say this is better than an OCD or Ice 9?..Just trying to save some bucks but i think this would be a great investment....If i was gonna stay under 150 the OCD would be the way to go i guess??I play through a Jet City JCA20..Not a metal player either...classic rock etc...
i have a dual rectifier and want to add some harmonic overtones to my leads and some tighter chunk to my rythms. would this pedal be i?deal for a high gain amp
I think the BB is supposed to have more gain and is a little more compressed

can i use any of those channels to act as a boost for my other pedals? i want to but the bb+ in front of my signal chain something like polytune > 535q > bb+ > crunchbox > reeza... i want to be able to clean boost or add a little more gain to the crunchbox and reeza during solos... is this possible?

fulldrive is a tubescreamer clone with a lot of adjustments and a boost, while the bb plus is 100% original and is closer to a distortion...BB plus has too many knobs I have an fd2 and would take it over the bbplus anyday for a blues or classic rock tone

Which one is better to use as a boost for a Peavey 5150II and as stand alone 2 channel distortion for a clean amp when I cannot use my 5150? The BB plus or a Blackstar HT Dual?
