Piglets are only " mini pigs " if in your head, Great Dane puppies are " mini dogs " sadly many pigs get dumped when they grow as normal, a slow grower like a Kunekune will get big after about year 2..then because a " lard pig can get massive if fed rubbish food. These are Juliana's, very small but not mini'as the age.... avoid any breeders using the term Mini or Tea cup, run the other way..

Had a friend that just had to get a mini teacup pig back around 2002. $800.00 later she gets the lil piggy and is told it's young - only 4 months old but nearly at its max weight of 10lbs. Just feed it this special "diet" and it will be her itty bitty tiny piggy!
Yeah, I get a call a month later to help her find a vet because the piggy was sick. I worked on a farm in my teens over 2 summers and had to deal with domestic large & medium pigs, so when I got to her place I could see why she thought it was sick - it wasn't a 4-5 month mini teacup or Juliana Pig, it was a regular domestic PIGLET! They sold her a fucking week-old piglet and it was dam near starved (for a piglet) it's "special "diet was maybe 25% of what it should be eating. I told her the reality of the situation but she refused to believe me and still wanted a vet to find out why lil missy was swollen & retaining water (she refused the fact that it was going to get bigger than 10lbs]. The vet told her almost everything I did, with one thing I didn't notice - the piglet was male, not female! And it actually was sick from malnutrition as well. Lil Missy ended up dying around a week after the vet, he probably was runt of the litter because it was really small even for a newborn piglet. The breeder never returned my friends calls and when she tried to find him she had no luck.
So remember, most pigs grow big fast - gilts/sows can be massive 600+ lb piglet machines, and boars get big too but are total Assholes unless they get neutered in infancy. But people see these piglets next to small things and assume they won't get larger, but they do. So don't buy one unless you can care for it, and if its a choice between a mini pig or a babby macaque monkey - NEVER KEEP A MACAQUE AS A PET! I only mention monkeys because my friend was considering a rhesus macaque if the mini pig didn't work out, but after losing $800.00+ on a starved sickly piglet she had no more money for an exotic pet and never got a babby macaque.
Tldr version: mini pigs ain't so mini, and rhesus macaque monkeys are vermin scum, and never keep one as a pet.

Please be aware that there is no such thing as a teacup pig or micro-mini. Miniature pigs are mini compared to a domestic farm pig that can reach 600-plus pounds. So-called teacups are actually potbellied pigs who are either underfed to stunt their growth or who are sold under false pretenses. Thousands of "teacup", "micro" and "micro mini" pigs are given up annually by their owners, who were assured that their pigs wouldn't grow to larger than 50 pounds, yet they now have a 150 pound pig. "Greeders" like this guy are purposely starving pigs, and presenting younger pigs as adults, taking them too early from their mothers. One of my beloved pigs was rescued from one of these scammers, forced to endure pregnancy after pregnancy, while her babies were taken from her way too early. Shame on you, Jeremy Accosta.

@@ReadySetBeau, that mother pig definitely looked like a regular sized sow. But those piglets definitely did not look like normal piglets. I can see someone mistaking one for a rat if they saw one scurrying across a room and didn't know that there were pigs around.
