After fixing Mkulu's waterpump problems we head to Ihaha camp in the Chobe National Park. For this leg of the journey we are joined by Daniel, Marizanne and Bertus. All footage was filmed in 2019.
    Additional footage supplied by Bertus Fourie, Daniel and Marizanne Heunis.

    Love all your episodes - this one brings back wonderful memories of a couple of years ago at Senyati and Chobe. I love the shots you took from the underground hide at Senyati ...... it's always so wonderful to be able to get up close and personal to the ellies there.

      Yes, that hide is great, love getting that close to the animals and the ground level photos.

    I don't miss driving a Landy at all... maybe buy yourself a Toyota or a Jimny.

      Haha, I drove a Toyota 2.8 GD6 before I drove the landy. I don't miss driving the Toyota :)

    I hope you had a St Louis for me;) I love Ihaha and have been so dismayed by the robberies and hold-ups a few campers experienced. Glad you guys were ok and good to see Mkulu weer op die been. Thank you for the lovely video Juba.

      @JubasJourney  4 роки тому +1

      Yes! We were fortunate when staying at Ihaha and had no incidents, but I know of people who went before and after us who unfortunately had problems with theft. The nights we camped there, a patrol vehicle was moving up and down the river.

    After 40 years since I lived in Botswana, my friend and I decided to return for a 5 week holiday in Botswana and Namibia April May 2017 from Europe, one of the our campsites was the same one as yours in Ihaha, the river was nearly up to the campsite and as far as you could see the river was too the horizon

    Those rocks on the trail at Vic Falls are damn slippery. The river was flooding and the whole width of the falls was engulfed. Fantastic area but had to watch out for crocs, hippo and buffalo as the high waters forced them onto the hotel and adjacent properties.

    Eish! To think I gave up my beloved Defender (Td5), and am now a Ford Everest (3.2) and it’s the FORD water pump that let you down! At least parts should be cheaper... Loving your series

    • @JubasJourney
      @JubasJourney  4 роки тому +1

      True that, at least the water pump did a good 205000km before failing. Thanks for watching!

      This is so sad to hear, he was such a great guy. He drove with me in town to all the part suppliers looking for a waterpump. He will be missed.

    Juba, thanks for sharing your awesome African trip. You and Jackie have given the best overview of Botswana, Namibia, Kgalagadi, and Kruger that I have viewed. Jackie's blog has a lot of very useful information for those wanting to do a self-drive. Mate, is there any way to get from Mabuasehube to Maun? This would save backtracking from Mabuasehube to Mata Mata and back through Namibia (Gobabis) to return the hire vehicle in Maun. We noticed that you appeared to exit Kgalagadi via Unions End, why? Kepp up the awesome channel. Go well.

    • @JubasJourney
      @JubasJourney  3 роки тому

      Hi Quentin, thanks for the feedback. Yes you can exit Mabua to Botswana, but I think with covid the border post is currently closed. We did exit at Mata Mata to Namibia, but I think this is also closed due to covid at the moment.

    how many times did the Jimny have to tow the Landy out of shit?

    • @JubasJourney

      Haha, now that would have been a sight! Luckily the landy never had to be towed.
