How bad is Zambia now, understand the present government is the pits, was so lovely when I was there in the early 70s, hubby says thank u for the info on the brush wires xxx would like to return some day before I pop my clogs but frightened I would fry at its deterioration

May I ask, did you have a specific itinerary with places booked by date or have you mostly winged it with with a general set of goals and dates and book as you went? Reason is I want to do a similar four month trip next year so trying to work out logistically what would be the best approach in this regard (breakdowns not withstanding).
Hi Graig. We had a general route that we wanted to follow. We booked national parks in advance and the rest we just decided on the road. We had bookings in Kgalagadi, Etosha, Chobe, Moremi and Kruger. The rest was unplanned. We had nothing booked in Zambia or Malawi. Enjoy your trip!

Question, my hubby wants to know what the wires are for that come down from the roof of the vehicle to the bull bars , is it some sort of tensioning?
Hi Nola. It is brush wires. Lifts the branches up away from the windshield.
