I’ve always thought of Neal as being a reasonable, intelligent person. But if you want to hold those traits to yourself, you need to be open minded enough to understand that everybody is different. It’s almost like Brennan ONLY wants people in his life EXACTLY like himself.
Even if it rubbed him the wrong way, you can obviously tell whatever was said was coming from a place of love, and was never meant to be hurtful.

I’ve never really explored Neal’s work before, never really gave him the respect he deserves as a comedian and a writer. This just made me deep-dive into his catalog. I’m definitely gonna check out his stand up after this. Another solid podcast, another great guest.
He's been involved in a ton of things that a lot of people aren't aware of.

@@jacksonkelley603 Yeah, there are a lot of things he's not directly credited for, he helps write jokes for Chris Rock aswell. Although he has admitted that Chris is so good, it's not so much him writing as just Chris running jokes by him and some other writers.

Neal Brennan has always come off as unlikable and this episode solidified that. Cheeto Santino is a fantastic ginger as always and thats why I liked the video.

Same, but you just know a few bitter internet trolls would use that to bully Neal who is obviously still going through some PTSDesque emotional trauma. "Emotional mapping", more like "I'm overemotional and too lazy/content/fearful/blinded by vegan ideology to push through the pain and heal my emotional wounds."
Santino is lethal, so is prolly spot on; and for sure is not good (for Brennan).

A lot of people are curious, I’m sure, but it sounds like the issue isn’t entirely about the content of the message. Brennan seems to think that Santino joked about something that he (Santino) should have known to not joke about (or at least not joke about to the extent that he did). For example, if your friend’s mom died and he/she is sensitive about that and you’re aware of their sensitivity, you wouldn’t joke about their mom in a negative way, and you might avoid any/all jokes regarding their mom. Now, is Brennan overreacting? Maybe to some.
I think the biggest problem here is that Andrew doesn’t seem to understand why Neal is upset, or he refuses to see it the way that Neal sees it. And that could also be part of why Neal doesn’t see things returning to their “sweetness.”

Neil tried to say he doesn’t think he’s above Andrew, but the, “who do you think you’re talking to,” response is absolutely something a person who thinks they’re better than someone would say.
That's a common response to someone who insults you, it's not meant to be "do you know who I am?", it's more like "I am not your bitch watch your your words". That was the least annoying crybaby thing Neal said and it could/might actually make sense why he would say it.

As an armchair psychologist for UA-cam, regardless of what Santino said, he needs to accept and respect that Neal took issue with it. Full stop. He doesn't get to tell Neal how he feels about it. Accept, learn, move on. There is too much interrupting and talking over Neal when trying to state how it affected him. I think that is indicative of some guilt on Santino's part. Unfortunately, intention doesn't always equate to impact. No, I don't struggle with this in my personal life... Also, those who default to physical violence are neanderthals .

Clicked on this episode excitingly because I love Brennan’s stand up. It was fine until the beef was brought up...what a snowflake. It’s so classic narcissistic to assume 100% fault in the person making a remark, never in the way they interpret something. Honestly don’t know any other comedians in the podcast circle who would block a fellow comedian for something that was said in silly humor. Wish we could have gotten a quote!
One of you two is much funnier than the other and that’s the only comparison any one cares about.

I get that comedians are the pros of comedy, and I hate to disagree with Neal, but just because you have "pitch control" you shouldn't have the final say of what someone's intent is when saying a joke and denying what they say because you are offended or the joke did not go over well. It is like a professional dancer going up to an amateur who just likes to dance in the club and telling them they are doing it wrong therefore they can't dance like that.
After listening to this, I kind of get why Kevin Brennan doesn’t care for Neal?
