I think it’s because they can trigger any time in game, so the audio files are originally isolated. During the main games the quotes play during a cutscene, so there are other sound playing in the back.

Battle to save a harlequin thief riding a giant dog dragon robot mosquitos? Skeletons waving fucking glowsticks to the rhythm?! Absolute gobsmacked me, zero criticism.
