Powerwerx Inline Watt Meter

- Bill (WA0CBW) and I compare power readings on the Powerwerx inline watt meter with one of his bench meters. I've owned this meter for about a year and have had no reason to doubt it, but I thought it would be a fun topic for a video.

I’m confused 😵💫,, your output watts on the meter are different then what your saying out loud ? Help me to understand that ?

Maybe im seeing the meter wrong, but i didnt see the watts lining up with your numbers at all. Guess i dont know how to read that thing.
The watt reading on the meter refers to the power being pulled by the radio. The power that Bill is quoting is power out to the dummy load as reported by a Bird meter that is off screen. My main focus was the current going to the radio, reported in Amps. I should have pointed that out in the video. All of this is complicated by the fact that the display cycles between measurements rather quickly, so it's easy to get lost.
Those Powerwerx meters are pretty good. I have one also.
they offer an optional auxiliary power cord with it. It has 3 pins and 3 wires coming out. one is pos and one is neg, what is the third one for?
It's supposed to be a reset pin, but the option is not activated
Did the ends of your meter does it have a male on one end and female and the other I have a Titan solar generator and it has the female plugs attached to it and I need the mail plug on the load and the source I need a male is that the same thing
I can't have one of those things with a 'restless' display
a bit pricy @ 50 to 80.00 depending on who you buy from and what amperage it will handle
Agreed. I’ve had it for years, but there are cheaper alternatives.

Watching your video has convinced me NOT to buy this meter. The inability to set it at a reading and have it stay there is the killer. Thank you.
I neither recommend it nor discourage people from buying them.

I disagree. If I rated everything "junk" because I couldn't see the screen in daylight, I wouldn't own anything. This unit accurately measures what it purports to measure, which is all I can ask for at their price. 5 Stars? No. But not junk.
