Damn, when you list all that, my man went through some heaviness. He said imagine being a small child and not only be asked to fight to the death, but also witness the others die gruesome deaths. He jokes it's no reason Gohan wanted to just go to school and be a scholar. Same here. After going through everything Ritsuka did, if that man never wanted to fight again I'd understand and leave him be. He carried the fate of mankind on his unready shoulders
One trauma that stuck out to me was right before Fuyuki began. When Ritsuka and Mash got trapped inside the rayshift room. Ritsuka had to sit beside Mash who had her entire lower body crushed beneath a huge slab of the ceiling… while she was still conscious. In the First Order movie he literally sat there with her, comforted her, all whole the entire room was filling with fire and he had accepted he was about to burn to death or be crushed. And that was what started his journey off! Ritsuka seriously has had some of the worst shit ever happen to him, like main end stuff on par with some of Stay Night’s BAD ends. And yet, he continues to work his ass off and be a source of strength and optimism for those around him. I love Ritsuka, I think he’s a fantastic MC. I would really love to see his traumas and humanity get addressed in game. I know it’s constant action and shit happening, but I’d love for someone to be like “Man, this guy is practically still a kid and has suffered through unimaginable circumstances. I can’t even imagine what he’s going through internally.” Just some recognition or something for our man, maybe get him a therapist even? Cause DAMN.
Yes its time to guda to shine And wish he/she had dialogue's like others Seriously why they have to make them blank and only for a few times speaking its sucks İ would like to see their personality more Hakuno's are too
There are multiple people who regularly go inside Ritsuka's head and destroy or suppress some of his trauma just for the sake of his ability to normally function. Dantes is the main one, but I'm fairly sure the team also includes Abby and Parvati. Ritsuka also has unbelievable mental resilience, I'm pretty sure some LB6 thing will have him surviving magic that's supposed to kill you with despair just through his willpower.
@@tamamtamam8646 I do remember that in the Atlantic Lostbelt Ritsuka was trapped in a mind loop by Aphrodite’s song where he talked with Patxi, Gelda and Asha where he talked about how tired he was of his journey and the suffering he experienced with them.

*Finishes the video.* You pretty much covered everything, I was aware of. As a player of fgo. And quite frankly, outside of other specific anime characters or video/movie characters. Ritsuka has gone through a lot of shit. And it only gets worse as the journey progresses. (With a potential third journey if the game does well enough.) But there are two things, you forgot to include. First: Roman aka Solomon, shortly after mash died. He literally HAD to sacrifice himself and erase himself from the world, just to ensure ritsuka got the chance of victory against goteia. The one 'human' freind ritsuka had throughout the singularities died with no way of returning or summoning him. Only to see a him(goteia) pop up during lostbelt five. Second: Now, back to the pseudo singularties. You forgot about the first one. Where ritsuka was sent to a world of evil. Where people were turned into puppets and for morality to create a bomb with a puppet. Only to give the remote to you and blow it the fuck up. Keep in mind, depending on the choice you made. You either give moriarty or he swipes back the remote from you. To ensure you don't end up being the one to PRESS THE TRIGGER. I know, this is small compared to destroying lostbelts. But considering, what ritsuka had to do, fight or work with untill then. This was a significant way to cause trauma. Because he NEVER actually truly killed someone before. It was either fighting monsters, servants. Or with "the back of the blade" if humans got involved. (Aka holding back to not kill them.) Edit: I forgot to mention, during the lotbelts. Ritsuka lost a wolf freind and two girl's. The former knew what was happening. The latter were so innocent, rituska couldn't fucking tell them. That they were going to die.
I see EOR singularities as the training room to Lostbelts because they aren't necessarily more powerful than previous singularities but we didn't have mash and there was a focus on getting ritsuka to accept more moral ambiguity The servants we got were much more ambiguous too: Salter for example say since the incineration is over she doesn't necessarily have the moral obligation to protect us which means her doing so anyway and other servant doing the same is much more out of personal loyalty than utilitarian intent
@@markangeloporcare5289 I knew about them, i just didn't bring them up. Because I haven't officially destroyed (beaten) the olypmus portion of the lostbelt yet. (Atlantis has fallen and i am just about to fight/kill LB aphordite.)
I like that they showcase both Ritsuka / Gudako's *AND* Mash's trauma in the latest lostbelt trailer we have on NA (when booting the game). Most lostbelts featuring a child *we know* is gonna die is kind of a meme already, tho the trailer makes it very clear how much that actually impacts the protagonists. Killing off entire populations for your own sake gotta make you feel like actual shit, it really shows in Mash's dialogues early on. Her part in the trailer especially focuses on her former Team A members, the heaviest hitter of which was probably Ophelia's death. That shit was awful. Overall there are some really nice "hidden gems" like the descriptions of CEs you get from completing lostbelts. For example "Family Portrait", the child from lb4 who had basically all her family removed from memory by Arjuna.
I also found the CE "Heretical Yaga" hurtful: "I'll never forgive you, for as long as I live. You know why? Because thanks to you, I now know there's another, happier world out there. So stand up, dammit. Stand up and fight for it. Go on and brag about how you can smile in your world, and tell us why it should be the one to survive. Be proud. Hold your head up high, and fight for your weak little world. ...Don't you dare go losing to a world like this, a world whose only virtue is strength!" Like, even after completed Lb1 a long time ago, this one still hit me in the kokoro...
Man that lb4 CE made me shed a singular tear because the father knew the whole time something was missing and didn’t know what and that’s why he was so angry at everything. For those who don’t know the CE shows a big family with at least 4 children and a mother and father (plus a dog) which were all wiped from the world.
One of the most important moments for Ritsuka's characterization is the end of LB1, when Ivan tells him that destroying the LB will kill all the inhabitants. At that point Ritsuka physically and mentally breaks down. His mind literally cannot cope with this information. If not for Patxi giving up his life to save him and snap him out of it, the story would have ended right then and there, because Ritsuka literally could not handle the realization.
@@HistoryisBossThat is one of the lb I legitimately have no regrets ending. All those people lost so many and the fact they subconsciously remembered made it all the worse
tbh i guess the worst trauma fujimaru suffered was one of the last battles in LB7, even in the mystic code between the multiple fights with the same enemy his facial expression changes slowly to something more desperate, because of the non stop fights and the insane things that happened with his servants

It's wearing you down isn't it, Master of Humanity? How long can you keep going before you break? Before all the pressure on you, the memories of those you left behind, those you had to erase, comes crushing down on your shoulders? Can you stay strong going forward, knowing what you've done to save your own world at the cost of the others Master of Humanity?
I-I...….I keep striving forward because I have to, I have to. Even with all the blood on my hands, from friends, enemies and other worlds full of innocent people, I cant stop. I beg for there forgiveness every night in my dreams and nightmares, but I do not regret it. To regret it is to spit on their deaths. I must strive forward, unfaltering. Whether through heaven or hell, even purgatory I must carry on until this is finished. Then what will happen to me, I don't know and don't care. Peace, no matter the cost. But is it true peace anymore?
There's no turning back.... If I ever stop, EVERYTHING I'VE SACRIFICED, EVERYONE THAT DIED BECAUSE OF MY DECISIONS.... all of it will lose meaning.... Even if I know that every step I take in the future will lead me to hell .. I'll continue, until I can't anymore... Even if all hope is lost, I'll continue to walk until my very soul ceases to exist. I'll continue.... Because it is the only thing that I am allowed to do.
The ironic thing about all those chains of sins weighing him down, all those memories that have caused pain to him, is that those same memories that hurt him, are also one of the things keeping him together, he is fundamentally a broken person inside, but he cannot break, or rather, he cannot let himself be broken, because that'll put all their efforts and sacrifice in vain, all those memories that weigh him down now serve as his foundation, even if he himself knows that he can never return to a normal life now, he cannot let himself die, that he must live in honor of those who died, that he must live to tell the tale, even if nobody believes him.
This being pre LB6 and LB7 (not gonna list the extra chapters) on trauma scale shows already how deep it goes. I won’t spoil but goddamnit it just gets worse and worse for them 💀
Ritsuka has been through so much that constantly being at the ready in case something happens is just a natural routine, now. There's not many opportunities where he can rest easy, and at this point, it's all he knows what to do. What hurts even more is that the future he's fighting for isn't guaranteed to be a prosperous one, either.
But Ritsuka’s characteristic is built to withstand trauma. If you actually look through the setting art books and lore books. You can see that in the past Ritsuka lived next to an old man who is alone and he would help spend time with the old man and the old man pretty much set up his characteristics of how to go through traumatic things and one day when Ritsuka went to the old man he found that the old man died (I forgot if it’s illness and by old age) but as for how Ritsuka took it? He doesn’t feel sad (or at least not the dramatic kind of sad and he just went with it. Now, in LostBelt we can see that he and Mashu feel bad about destroying them but as they say they need to play the villain to save old humanity and yet as 2.7 pass we now that we are blocked out to go back into it since the shield of humanity blocks us out.
Now he gotta add the moment where he faced ORT the man was SWEATING so hard each time his servants gets eaten by ORT his face literally changes every 3 breaks on ORTs life, you can see the fear in his eyes bro

Ritsuka’s trials just make me think of a quote from the Dark Knight questline in FFXIV; “Do not seek forgiveness, for it will not ease the burden. It weighs as it should.”
My man accepted that he must understand the weight and consequences of his actions, instead of turning a blind eye and making it no different to killing a colony of ants, he connects with the people and takes the weight of his mission onto himself, even in Astrea's bond story he is shown to be fully aware of what he's done, and what he still has to do, choosing to leave the judgement of his sins to when humanity truly no longer needs him
@@tiagobelo4965 and if Ritsuka doesn't take care to remember the ones they were about to erase, who would? Who would remember that these people had existed? He won't forget, because that's his sin to carry throughout his life.. and he won't end his life, because he must live as to not put the sacrifice of those who have died so he may live in vain, so he will suffer knowing what he's done, suffer living his life.

@Procrastinating Phoenix Cool. But, I think the amount of trauma could be used to make an interesting point in a story like maybe the connection to Dante is severed for a little bit, and we are forced to deal with the wight.

Cause DAMN.
Yes its time to guda to shine
And wish he/she had dialogue's like others
Seriously why they have to make them blank and only for a few times speaking its sucks
İ would like to see their personality more
Hakuno's are too
i mean Kiara is technically a registered therapist but im not sure if her "therapy" is what ritsuka needs

You pretty much covered everything, I was aware of. As a player of fgo.
And quite frankly, outside of other specific anime characters or video/movie characters. Ritsuka has gone through a lot of shit. And it only gets worse as the journey progresses.
(With a potential third journey if the game does well enough.)
But there are two things, you forgot to include.
(Aka holding back to not kill them.)
Edit: I forgot to mention, during the lotbelts. Ritsuka lost a wolf freind and two girl's. The former knew what was happening. The latter were so innocent, rituska couldn't fucking tell them. That they were going to die.
The back of the Shield.
I see EOR singularities as the training room to Lostbelts because they aren't necessarily more powerful than previous singularities but we didn't have mash and there was a focus on getting ritsuka to accept more moral ambiguity
The servants we got were much more ambiguous too: Salter for example say since the incineration is over she doesn't necessarily have the moral obligation to protect us which means her doing so anyway and other servant doing the same is much more out of personal loyalty than utilitarian intent
You forgot the twins who want to see tomorrow so much, they willingly help to destroy their world
@@markangeloporcare5289 I knew about them, i just didn't bring them up.
I also found the CE "Heretical Yaga" hurtful:
"I'll never forgive you, for as long as I live. You know why?
Because thanks to you, I now know there's another, happier world out there.
So stand up, dammit. Stand up and fight for it.
Go on and brag about how you can smile in your world, and tell us why it should be the one to survive.
Be proud. Hold your head up high, and fight for your weak little world.
...Don't you dare go losing to a world like this, a world whose only virtue is strength!"
Like, even after completed Lb1 a long time ago, this one still hit me in the kokoro...
In Lb5 when Artemis was shooting the border they actually were certain they were gonna die
I would have told Ritsuka before his start of the journey:That's hell you're walking into.
