- In this Podcast, I speak to Larne's finest export - Fergie.
We talk about his early days in the Northern Irish dance scene, from playing clubs at the age of 14, to having Tony De Vit as a mentor within the space of two years. We talk about the impact that Tony's passing had on not just him, but the whole dance music community. He goes into the highs and lows of being one of the original superstar DJ's, his hard house days, making the move into the techno realm, his days on BBC Radio One, how he has been living and working in Las Vegas for the past ten years and how the pandemic has changed his life for the better.
I really enjoyed recording this Podcast and I hope you do too.
Enjoy.
I'm 49,I had great times in Belfast in the mid 90s,Shine in Qub,thompsons in the 90s,network, temple theatre Dublin, banging vibes from great djs
Could listen to this man all day hes got some great stories and real hero
I grew up in northern Ireland listening to fergie and all the boys and now I'm a massive Bryan Kearney fan great hearing the stories love from Australia
Glad to hear Fergie talking about X-Ray and the Intelligence setup. They were all over the north and X-ray was responsible for getting me into dance music with some of those tapes which were unbelievable. It was like music from another planet and of course you had to have the Bomber jacket and adidas popper tracksuit bottoms!
The Point Inn was another big influence with DJ Vertigo, Paul P, Colin Bass. No one really mentions that but as Fergie said cant name everything I suppose.
Some man for 1 man, always love listening to fergie, brilliant stories
I was lucky enough to see fergie live at inside out. What a fucking set
Two legends, Bryan, you should never think you took Barry''s place, you & him would have done it together. RIP Barry & Tony.
Two absolute legends having a chin wag, I cannot wait to listen to this! Fergie was my gateway into dance music, and I still listen to his 2001 Essential Mix 20 years later!
Happy days for this 1
What an amazing podcast 👏
This was a brilliant listen!
Really good interview, Fergie is a great personality. Seen him play in the days of Hotdog in Nottingham and more recently one of his EDM sets at the MGM pool party, always good energy.
