Great pianist. From the golden age. The only era worth listening too

Really one of the finest examples of his playing he left us . It's also an example of the shoddy, false editions of sheet music that were in currency until to the 1970's academicism got more voice . The Berceuse left hand is incorrect in place and yet it is only a repeating pattern . So did Casadesus have fire seems a silly question after hearing his Brahms2(not a fan of him in that) but the etude shows him in fine imaginative form though I really feels todays competetion competitors unleash more fire and breathtaking imagination. There are hundreds now whose playing of both of these pieces leaves me in bewilderment and awe . Hear Irmellini in Chopin 2nd Sonata and you will forget Rachmaninoff's recording. My teacher a good judge was not impressed with many of the old recordings .Lhevinne was special as is Sauer .
